Open Warriors: Rise of The BloodMoon

Stormfeather let out a breath. That was rather anticlimactic, the Clan prepared to leave and fussed over everything.. to learn nothing. Great fun for the leaders. She bounded down to Kestrelfeather and flicked her with her tail.
"That was shorter than usual," she muttered, and looked up at Mudstar.

Goldenfeather sighed. She was looking forwards to the gathering so much more than any other and now it turned out it was just a short boring report on a few not as significant as usual happenings.

Goldenstar was in her leader's den thinking quietly, why did Stealthstar seem so tense at the meeting?

Once WindClan had reached the camp, Owlstar decided to settle down in her den for the night.

((School annoys me. D:<))

Nettleflight nodded towards the rest of the warriors and dashed towards the warriors' den. He was tired from the Gathering and needed some sleep.

Swallowpaw padded sleepily into the apprentices' den and collapsed in his nest, snoring silently.

Shadepaw pounced on the moss as his mentor's replacement had examplified and pulled something...
This stinks, while Gorsepelt is out, I'm stuck with living proof that cats existed for over five million years...hmmm...well forget this, Im going out to the lake.

My best idea ever Greytail thought while faking a limp to the elders' den Faking a pulled muscle was so good, and Shadepaw is pouncing moss, this is the best thing ever since retiring.

((Exo, where are you?))

Goldenfeather went down to the stream to catch some fish. She sat down beside it looking into the stream. Her eyes spotted a silver blue of movement and in a flash her paw got the fish and she was taking it back to camp, it was reasonably big.

Icepelt was sitting beside the lake on Shadow. Goldenfeather went up to greet her but she didn't notice at first that another cat ws beside her. And that cat smelt of Shadowclan scent...

Goldenfeather sniffed trying to tell who's scent it was...nothing. Then the wind changed directions and Goldenfeather picked up the scent of a rogue...what was a rogue doing here or were they a new addition to Shadowclan?

Icepelt was in front of the cat as if she was just trying to hide their conversation.

Goldenfeather walked away, maybe it meant nothing...

((Gah, forgot about this.))

Sleathstar walked back to camp, more nervous than before.

To have smelled that scent twice was worrying. None of the other cats noticed or cared about it. But it smelled...

...so wrong.

Stealthstar took a quick glance around to check for any danger. He saw nothing out of the ordinary. The trees stood tall, the moon shined over the water, and a bush was staring back at him.

That last one made him do a double take. This time, the eyes didn't notice.

"I know that you're there. Come out or I'll make you come out."

((Random note: I made a small banner for the RP, it's in my sig.))

Hmm, I wonder why Stealthstar seemed a little on edge? Well, I guess I can't say anything, considering that dream that made me so worried... Come to think of it, everyone seemed to be expecting something ominous to happen. Hmm...

Maplepaw was pacing around the old quarry, bored out of her mind. Ugg! Is there nothing to do? Well, I guess I should get some rest. I don't want to miss out on any training tomorrow. That's about the only time I get to do anything fun. Maplepaw padded off to the apprentices' den, silently wishing for someone to play with. She noticed the emptiness of the apprentices' den now more than ever after the number of cats she had seen at the gathering.

Stealthstar unsheathed his claws. "I don't want to ask again. Either you come out on your terms, or you come out on mine. And you should know that mine are far, far more painful."

No response. Stealthstar guessed that the mysterious creature was weighing its options.

"Last chance. come out or I'll-"

"You'll what? Slash a cat that isn't there?"

Stealthstar whirled around to see a pitch-black cat staring calmly back at him.

((That somewhere is going to become productive, believe me. This is only the beginning))

Stealthstar tensed. He briefly wondered if this was a vision from StarClan, and was about to ask that question when the mysterious cat spoke.

"No doubt you are wondering who I am and why I'm here. Let me just start off by saying that I enjoyed your little performance tonight. You were seemingly the only one who could detect my scent."

"How did you..."

"Disguise it? That's what I believe what you call Twolegs call a 'trade secret'. You'll find out in due time, of course. For now, though, it seemed you have an enhanced sense of smell, or I relaxed my guard for a short period of time. Take your pick."

((Ooh...secret :D))

Goldenstar walked back slower than any other cat, placing paw after paw very slowly upon the fallen tree. A sudden movement caught her eye and Goldenstar shot out towards it. It was a rabbit and it had gotten away...she wished she had Goldenfeather's hunting skill.

She watched the rabbit run away into the distance, she was a horrible land animal hunter but a decent fisher...maybe she would go fishing to clear her head and get rid of the annoying headache.

Goldenstar trotted over to the stream and sat by the side waiting for a fish...

A glint of silver and Goldenstar had one, she took it back to the camp for the fresh kill pile.

She didn't notice the silhouettes by the lake.

"I can understand your suspicion. You must think you're imagining all of this. I'll dispel that thought with a battle."

Stealthstar sized up the other cat. It was about the same size as him, but clearly, it wasn't as well-fed; its legs were thinner, and it was standing in a stance oriented toward the ground.

"Fine," he said, "But if I win, you leave."

"I don't see anything wrong with that," the mysterious cat said, and with that he launched himself at Stealthstar.

Bluebird hissed at the mysterious cat, but didn't know if she should join the fight. Her fur was bristling, and her claws were unsheathed.

((Heh, laziness=bad))

Disappointed, Rainpaw went back to camp, looking for the sleek pelt that was Silverpaw, but he failed to do so in the dark night.

Silverpaw stood up and smelled the air. I smell Rainpaw! she thought excitedly. Looking around, she made out a small dark blue shape and sprinted toward it.

"Rainpaw?" she cautiously asked, peering from underneath.

Rainpaw was surprised when a shadow came up to him and started sniffing him "S-Silverpaw?" he said, startled.

"Rainpaw! How was the Gathering?" she shouted, not knowing how loud she was being.

"Ssh, Silverpaw. Everyone can hear you," Rainpaw shushed, blushing. "Let's go back to the apprentices' den and I'll tell you everything."

The two cats excitedly scampered off into the apprentices' den, happily chatting away. Neither noticed the two dark silhouettes near the ShadowClan border fighting away. As they sat down in the moss beds, Silverpaw stared into Rainpaw's eyes as if expecting something big. "Go, Rainpaw," she nudged.

Rainpaw took a deep breath. "Well, it really wasn't that interesting. Some new warriors in some clans and some other stuff," he said.

"That's... all?" Silverpaw whimpered, disappointed.

"Yeah... sorry it wasn't that good," he mumbled.

"It's okay... I hope we can both go to the next one."

((Yay, we're getting somewhere! [/excited]))

((^Whoa. Long post.))

Despite how ragged the cat looked, he was fast, and Stealthstar barely pulled back in time to avoid the strike. He then struck out by rolling onto his back and kicking outward, a blow which this mysterious cat dodged.

Unbelievable. This cat could put even WindClan to shame. No cat can be that fast.

"Surprised, are you?" The cat asked, "Well then this will be an even bigger one!"

It leaped forward, this time hitting Stealhstar's hind legs.

Goldenstar watched in awe at the fight, she rushed up to help but suddenly Goldenfeather was grabbing her neckfur with her jaws and dragging her back.

'It's too dangerous!' Goldenfeather screeched as Goldenstar unsheathed her claws.

'I must help!' Goldenstar shouted into the night 'I've known Stealthstar for...I don't know how many Moons but it has been a very long time...I don't want to watch him die!'

Goldenfeather answered calmly to this, 'He'll be fine'.

'No! No he won't be fine!' Goldenstar shouted 'Look at the cat's speed! It's absolutely amazing, how could Stealthstar beat that?'

'With sheer power and years of skill' Goldenfeather meowed.

Goldenstar calmed down a little and lay down but still looked tense and forbidding.

'If you're going to attack then include the element of surprise, how about we SNEAK towards them and hide in any bushes or anything'

'I don't know...there isn't much to hide behind...'

'WATER! The stream! We can follow it down and perhaps ambush the cat!'

'But he or she would hear the water and they will scratch us quicker than any other cat...this is no normal cat!'

'Now look who's talking sensibly...'

'Fine...we stay here and see what happens' Goldenstar meowed.
