Wind Waker HD on Wii U

It might not be enough of a reason to make me get a Wii U just yet, as I have the original, but I'd certainly get it if I had one.
Though since Iwata says they're also working on an original Zelda game, maybe that'll make me get one!
It does look good.

Though I always found that games like Wind Waker that have a visual style to them actually age better than those who go for more realistic graphics. So I'd prefer a remake of Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess. (though TP won't happen since it's already on two consoles as it is :P) Though I guess the stated reason they give there that lots of people didn't have Gamecubes makes more sense from a money making perspective :P

Oh man I haven't played the original so this is p cool wow those screenshots look really great :0! Will seriously consider getting a Wii U for this, yes.

*fan rage mode initiated*
are you serious
i am so ticked at nintendo
"oh we don't want to make a Majora's Mask remake because we already remaked a game two years ago" but they think that a WW remake is the best thing since sliced bread?
hypocrites.

I can sort of see their reasoning, though. Majora's Mask had the least units sold of any 3D console Zelda, less than half of that of OoT. Wind Waker also had more units sold, though the margin between those two wasn't as wide.

This is arguably the most amazing thing.
but
those graphics.

I am getting a Wii U for this, new zelda, and new smash bros.

those graphics.

:D

Well, they could have just... changed their minds? I mean, they are the ones making the games here!

Anyway, this kind of isn't a port! They were being specifically asked about ports, and OoT 3D was also basically just the original game. I can't remember WW's graphics well but this looks like a complete remake, right? At least we know there's a new 3DS title being made at the same time!

But still, that was a very hypocritical move on nintendo's part
and the art styles of WW and WWHD are very similar.
Plus iirc that source doesn't flat out say there is a new 3DS Zelda in the works.

I'm very conflicted about this because I literally just went through my Gamecube games today and realized I lost my copy of Wind Waker without ever playing it

Like seriously self, just what

Did you think this would be funny or something

the art styles are still going to be the same, they're only enhancing the visuals and getting much better lighting. it's still to be said as to whether or not they'll actually add content to the game

also you do have to understand, even if the fans DO want MM3D, it had some of the poorest sales in the series (which, most companies won't ever outright admit). that is definitely a factor in whether or not they port or remake something for a particular system at a given time.

plus, as i recall, it was more specifically said that they wanted to get an original 3DS title out first before doing another remake on the 3DS

Yeah, so in today's direct he says the triforce quest at the end is more fie tuned. Yay?

Although it looks more like The Legend of Zelda: Blinding Bloom to me now :(

looks just fine to me. they're streamlining the triforce quest to make it less of a pain, sailing is faster and changing wind's direction no longer takes so long
