Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • Hi Hiikaru, poking you again, hope it's alright! :)

BTW I can't see how people would think Harry Potter is bad. It's written for children and teenagers, but it's so much in-depth it's a joy to read. I couldn't stop once I started.

I sometimes don't know what to think of my writing. Most people that know the way I write stuff (including teachers back in high school and in uni) told me I write well, but I've been less confident since I started writing fiction, maybe because of repetition of words and sentence constructions... I also attempt to get it right the first time and that's a bad habit of mine... Maybe I'm more suited to things like NaNo?

    Thanks again, and take care!
Hiikaru, about the ponds, do the regular damage calculation, and it takes what would be 25% damage to make a pond. Also, any pokemon can pick up the watering cans and use them to make a pond half-full.
Hi Hiikaru, sorry for the delay! I've been trying to answer you for days but haven't had the time to write something worth sending to you.

You know, out of all the people I've got advice from you were the best! I don't know how much experience you've got but you certainly impressed me!

I've got a big problem right now in my novel... At the very beginning there's a character which acts antagonistic to the protagonist. I wrote the story and forgot about her... Until I realised that, some 25k words in, she might be interesting to go back to. However, the rest of the story was written without her in mind, so it wouldn't be a minor edit. It wouldn't be fun to rewrite it... I thought about inserting new paragraphs all over the chapters, but that doesn't work well either... I know you said it's better to rewrite, but I'm horrible at tearing apart an old text to include new stuff!

I really liked what you said concerning creativity, it really made me more confident in my character choices. Quite a few of them started as alter-egos of people I know, friends, unsuccessful crushes, and so on. Although I'm a slow writer, I dream big of maybe even getting the whole thing serialised as an anime after it's done and hopefully published (it would be 1000x easier if I was Japanese and living in Japan, so the dream may never come true lol). I wouldn't want to turn it into a movie, I don't know, I just prefer the anime medium.

It's hard to follow a schedule during the daylight, as I'm more of a nocturnal being, but people keep harassing me for not being ready to do stuff during the day. 100 words as a minimum point is a good number, it isn't too hard to write 100 words even in a bad day, and in a good day I can put out more than 2k.

I hope you forgive me being indiscrete, but I, uhm... Looked at your avatar source and found out about Loveless. I checked some summaries and found it very moving. I may not watch it now though since there are a ton of things I haven't finished watching/reading yet ATM.

Why do people call you Ki?

Many thanks for the help, once again! See you later! :)
    Hi sleeping Ki :o

edit: you posted the reffing hooray! \o/ Also maybe you're not actually sleeping.

Sorry Eifie for pushing you down the page!!!!!! vo.ov But my profile is full of people asking why they have to clean out their pronoun field maybe you could do something about that please maybe Eifie too!!! :o
No wake up! You'd better read my PM I spent like the first hour and a half of my day writing it >:(
Hi Hiikaru, well you said I could poke you just in case you didn't answer my VMs... So that's what I'm doing! ;) But take your time, I don't mean to pressure you or anything, if things are busy I'll understand.
Also, I'd like to ask what's your take on creativity. I've been searching and posting in a lot of places asking around what is the line between being inspired by somebody's work and completely ripping off said work, because I have this obsession with originality that is completely unhealthy since true originality doesn't exist.

Plots really can't be bent too much. You can reduce all the works of mankind to maybe a dozen of different plots, kinda like the Hero's Journey. I'm more concerned with the originality of the characters... For example, I have a nun who was a little too obviously inspired by Alexander Anderson from Hellsing and Ciel from Tsukihime, though her backstory, appearance, personality and weaponry (she hunts vampires and demons) are different. I fear people might bash me for those similarities. Although I envision my work as an anime all the time, but the public I'm going to sell the book to are not necessarily anime fans so they might not see the similarities. Often times I said to myself, "to hell with it" and stopped bothering, but the bug keeps coming back to bite me again and again...

Well, basically, that's it! Thanks in advance and thanks again for taking the time to help me! :)
