• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • Okay, so it's actually the Battle of Asber that started it all... Yeah, I quite fondly remember the thirty of us receiving one hell of a beating in the first few rounds.

Even in the midst of a totally imaginated and fan-based battle, hoomans still battle like hoomans. It seems so childish now that it's all over, but it must have been a real PITA when in the middle of it. Part of why you left TCoD, I suppose?
    ooh, mysterious.

Well, it seems Zhorken is handling the reins nicely, and from a first quick glance since forever, things seems to be going smoothly. You did a great job reviving this forum from its ashes, it's greatly appreciated.

Also, what happened with the battle of Asber?
I agree. We'll see. He's due for a DQ warning in a battle of his I'm reffing, we'll see if anything comes from that. Haven't seen much of Sylph either.
That's quite a shame if it's true. I feel like he would have said something though, even if it was in the same vein as see ya.
Coloursfall left? What happened there, if you don't mind me asking. I didn't hear anything about it.
Where "time it right" presumably means hoard hardcore yet again.

There is another tournament round in which to do so, although presumably this time I won't have to be cleaning up after others as often.
We'll see which happens first: that, or my breach into the realm of four-algarism bank figures, previously known only to people who owned core stores.
Only for rounds 1-4. Round five only had four pokémon conscious, and by round 6 there were only three, which netted me $16 and $12 for those rounds, respectively.

Unless you're talking about the end-of-battle pay, in which case I'm supposed to get $5 times the three pokémon Munchkin used, which is $15, but the database should have taken care of that automatically.
According to the ref HQ speed bonus is $2 per Pokémon on the field, thus $4 total.
Actually, my Espeon wanted to be friends, but if you're going to cause a row...
Ah, it was only what I saw on that server, that's fair then.

I think the speed is what puts me off of it the most. Personally, I like the discrepancy of command order and the potential for loopholes in commands. I find it fun trying to pick apart the strategies of others, and trying to come up with foolproof commands of your own. Although, I've never tried a two-action league. Maybe if I did I'd enjoy it.

Achievements would be cool. Some form of reward that is more short term than the league championships and more long term than regular battles would entice me.

No, sorry, I haven't been in touch with him myself. I could ask that group if any of them know anything about him or his whereabouts on the Internet. I do recognize the name, but I don't think I ever talked to him much. By contrast, the folks I still talk to were all on PFU for a while longer than I was, so they might have something for you.
I had no idea he hadn't disappeared into the aether himself. Looks like it's a fledgling league, I hope it works out for him. A two-action one though, not enough room for strategy imo.

I've managed to keep in touch with a group from PFU over the years. We built up a few forums that never lasted long. Now we just talk sporadically on a closed Facebook group about anything Pokemon-related and vaguely interesting we can find. It's nice for the memories, and they're all fun people.
I just realized most of the old mocks in the original Referee Headquarters are from PFU's ASB. Man, those are some Usernames I haven't seen in a while. Quite a nostalgia trip.
Thank you for banning those guys, I don't know what would've happened if they got my account info.
