There's a film version, so what about your top five games?
This is going to be hard... >_<

1. Final Fantasy VII
2. Final Fantasy X
3. Persona 4
4. The World Ends With You
5. Pokemon Sapphire

Guhhhh. Honourable mention goes to Zelda: Minish Cap which would come in at a close 6th.

1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
2. Tales of Graces
3. Chrono Trigger
4. Knights in the Nightmare
5. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Honourable mention goes to Melty Blood Actress Again, and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core + for being two of the best 2D fighters I've ever played, and Megaman X for being the very first game I've ever played.

I haven't played many games other than Pokemon, but let's see here...

1. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
2. Animal Crossing: City -version
3. Pokemon FireRed
4. Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals
5. Pokemon Platinum

Uh. This isn't definite because these are just what come to my mind first, buttt.

1: Pokémon Crystal (GBC)
2: Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
3: Spyro: Year of the Dragon (PSX)
4: Half-Life 2/HL2 Episode 1/HL2 Episode 2 (PC)
5: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)

Yus. Honourable mentions, as they say, go to HeartGold for reliving the experience of Crystal (but not quite reaching the mark!) and, uh, The SIms series.

EDIT: To explain:

1: I spent a good chunk of my childhood whiling away the hours doing nothing but exploring randomly, capturing Pokémon and giving them zany names and taking the SS Tidal over and over again. The internal battery died recently, but this game has probably had more influence on me than any other piece of media ever (Except perhaps Harry Potter buy yeah).

2: This game is beautiful. Definitely my favourite DS game due to the way it just sucks you in and doesn't let you out. I'd find myself wandering around my town every single day, watering flowers, digging up fossils and forcing the inhabitants to stay, because when you play it every day, they feel less like blips of data with very primitive AI and more like actual friends trapped inside a screen.

3: When I was younger, if I wasn't on Crystal, I'd probably be playing this. It's pure genius, all of it - The level design is perhaps the most creative I've ever seen, the plot is simple but fun, and returning to levels over and over to find hidden eggs isn't a chore in the slightest. It's a shame how the later games ruined the series.

4: I only played these recently, but they're pretty much amazing. I felt more like I was playing through some epic sci-fi film rather than a game. The game engine is fantastic, and the plot is engrossing, especially the mystery of the G-Man. Can't wait until the next episode comes out.

5: My most recently-bought game, and more of a work of art than anything else. It's just... a fantastic representation of Nintendo's pure creativity. It'd be higher up, but for some reason, despite its general... amazing-ness, I occasionally find myself oddly disappointed when playing it. It could have been better, somehow. The again, that applies to everything, erm. Anyway, perhaps the fact I barely every get to use the Wii contributes to this only being #5. A great game regardless.

Ooh, this is tough.

1. Pokemon Red(gen1fagsoyeah)
2. Pokemon Heart Gold
3. Super Smash Bros. Melee/Brawl
4/5. Kirby 64/SS
4/5. Metroid Zero Mission

I have to give it to Red, just because that game alone has pretty much shaped my entire life up to this point. HG comes in a close second just for being the best Pokemon Game by far(and for bringing up some nostalgia by getting me addicted to Silver once more). The Smash Bros. games just cause they're so fun. And finally, possibly a 3-way tie between Kirby 64, Kirby Super Star(guess that includes Ultra, but IMO Super Star had a better difficulty level), and Zero Mission, because I love both types of Kirby games(easy-going with many puzzles and fast paced with the ability to just tear through your foes), while Zero Mission is the best GBA game I've played.

Possibly will be changed with the release of Kirby's Epic Yarn and Pokemon B/W.

1. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil
2. Persona 4
3. Pokémon HeartGold
4. Team Fortress 2
5. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle

I think this would be it.

Uuuhhhhh....

1. TLoZ: Majora's Mask
2. Pokemon Silver
3. Kirby SS
4. Star Wars: Rouge Leader
5. X-Men: Mutant Academy 2/WWF: No Mercy

Honorable mention to all 3 SSB games and Starfox 64.

ooh, that's a tough choice... these are in no particular order!

1. Sonic the Hedgehog 2
2. Little Big Planet
3. Metal Gear Solid 3
4. Final Fantasy IX
5. The World Ends With You

HONOURABLE MENTIONS! (There's quite a few!)

.Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2
.Pokemon SoulSilver
.Heavy Rain
. Super Mario Galaxy 2
. Zack and Wiki
. Resident Evil (Gamecube remake)
.Shadow of the Colossus
.Scribblenauts

1. Last Scenario
2. The World Ends With You
3. Tales of the Abyss
4. Exit Fate
5. Persona 4

Last Scenario is an obvious first (I swear that game is perfection), and TWEWY is another big favorite. Honorable mentions go to Disgaea, Zelda: Wind Waker, and Persona 3.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Surprisingly Ocarina of Time isn't on this list! Ocarina may be much more fun and more popular, but I think Majora's Mask is the better game. It goes so in-depth and gives most if not all of the characters in it some amount of backstory. It's very rarely a game comes around that uses the mechanic that is introduced (the time travel in this case) to help tell the story so well.

2. Pokémon Silver/SoulSilver

I never actually owned the original Silver until a couple of years ago, but before that I had a half Japanese ROM from back when it was pretty new. (Where Skarmory was called Wooper, and if memory serves, the Week Siblings' diary in their house had some suicidal thoughts in it). But I loved the game and its remake, in my opinion it has the best music of the series so far and Johto is my favourite region. Gold never appealed to me for some reason despite being so similar and Crystal I always wanted but the changes it introduced was in the remakes anyway, that's why that isn't there instead of Silver.

3. Half-Life series in general

They all follow after one another so it's hard to say one of them specifically, although Episode 1 is probably my least favourite. I think I prefer the original over Half-Life 2 simply because the graphics back then made them use brighter colours and such.

4. Team Fortress 2

I don't own many multiplayer games but since I love playing FPSes like this in general, the one I play the most makes the list. It's one of the few new-ish games that still uses bright colours, and that for me is a plus. FPS nowadays have too much brown and are too gloomy. For me, no matter how good the graphics are, I will like the way a game looks more if they have brighter colours, even if the graphics themselves are awful.

5. um

I DON'T PLAY THAT MANY GAMES ANY MORE OKAY.

1. Pokemon Emerald
2. Wii Fit Plus
3. Silent Hill 3
4. Sonic the Hedgehog
5. Animal Crossing: Wild World

This is a tough one. I haven't played many games, so most of these are for the DS.

1. Chrono Cross (PSX)
2. Final Fantasy V (SNES/PS/GBA)
3. Dragon Quest VI (SNES/DS)
4. Disgaea DS (DS, originally for PS2)
5. Suikoden Tierkreis (DS)

And now my reasons...

1. Chrono Cross is just great. I started playing it as soon as I got a Playstation emulator, since I couldn't find it anywhere else, and I absolutely loved it. To date I think it's the only game that I've played all the way through on an emulator. The music is fantastic, and the graphics are just colorful and shiny and I love it. Plus the characters are fun, and the game is just so damn fun.

2. I got Final Fantasy V when I was on my quest to play every Final Fantasy game, and I must say that I wasn't expecting too much from the game. And then I played it. And loved it. I'm a massive fan of customization in video games, and Final Fantasy V succeeded in good customization. I found the game easy my first few times through, but once I eliminated grinding I found the game fun and challenging. It's one of the few GBA games that I still play rather consistently.

3. Dragon Quest VI is by far and away my favorite Dragon Quest game that I've played, though I haven't played many. Like I said before, I'm a big fan of customization, and this game did an awesome job of it, with the use of the classes. Not only that, but the SNES version ALSO had monster recruiting, which I just love. I didn't finish the game because I was completely halted at the style contest part, but I picked up the game again and intend on going all the way through this time around. For the record, I clocked at least 30-40+ hours and I was a little over halfway through the game.

4. I got Disgaea DS about a month and a half ago. At first, I didn't like it that much, but then when I got more and more into the game, I fell in love with it. The plot is really funny, which I appreciate, and there are a ton of optional things to do as well, which just makes me happy. Needless to say, I'm not through the game quite yet, but I'm thoroughly impressed so far.

5. Suikoden Tierkreis was a game that I stumbled upon and bought about two months ago. I now must say that it is my favorite DS game that I have completed. Again with the customization stuff, there are 108 characters (:D) and all of them have customizable abilities (8D). Plus the plot is pretty interesting, which definitely helps out. And for replaying, you can fast-forward through cutscenes.

Honorable Mentions:
Dragon Quest IX (asdfklml; customization overload makes me happy)
Final Fantasy IX (Quina = <3)
Pokemon SoulSilver (Best Pokemon game FTW)
Final Fantasy XII (Again, customization)
The Legend of Dragoon (First RPG that wasn't Pokemon)

108 characters (:D) and all of them have customizable abilities (8D).

Stars of Destiny <3

Give Suikoden 2 a try; it's as good as people say it is. Suikoden V is also really good; it's more of an homage to old school RPGs in terms of presentation (top down view. Silent protagonist.), and the Stars of Destiny in V are probably the best, and most colorful set of characters in any Suikoden game to date.

I've been getting into the Suikoden series since I finished Tierkreis. I've started playing the first one, and hopefully I can find the others somewhere. I mainly just started to play them because 108 playable characters makes me squeal with glee, but the plot is really cool, and I like old school RPGs.

Old school RPGs are <3

Suikoden II is actually really expensive, so go for playing it on an emulator (It only had one print because it didn't sell too well, so copies are rare, and expensive).

Definitely go for Suikoden V. It doesn't suck like IV did, and it's got that old school RPG feel to it <3

This is going to be hard... >_<

Interesting choices. I love P4 and TWEWY, and Sapphire is one of my least favoirte Poke games and I disagree with your FF choices. A man is entitled to his opinions, though.

1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
2. Tales of Graces
3. Chrono Trigger
4. Knights in the Nightmare
5. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

An even more interesting selection, good sir. Although I can understand you old fags preferring the "classic" Zelda games compared to the likes of Orcarina of Time and Majora's Mask, which I think are ultimately superior, I'm surprised that Graces is you favorite Tales game. Ever. Care to explain, old cum?

I'm surprised that Graces is you favorite Tales game. Ever. Care to explain, old cum?

It's so much more polished than any of the other games in the series, the characters are excellent, it's got a good story, and just... It's probably the best I've played in the series. And battles are amazing, of course. The CC system is so much more polished than it already was in Destiny DC, everything's so intuitive, perhaps the most intuitive game I've played, and they ditched the normal attack in favor of preset Artes that you can combo however so long as you have the CC required. Plus, Free Run isn't so broken, or abuseable. You'd really have to play it to really know, just watching videos doesn't do any justice.

Also, the reason I put A Link to the Past up higher in regard is not because I grew up with it, but more because it serves as the template for the Zelda games we get now. It's because of that game the newer ones are what they are. Plus, I never said it was the best. I only listed my favorites anyway, two completely different things. and A Link to the Past is largely my favorite for how simple it is. And I do miss the days when Adventure games were mostly exploration with little to no story, or a simple one that played second fiddle to the rest of the ingame world :x

Exception goes to Shenmue, cause that game was so advanced and immersive for its time, it's freaking amazing.
