Attacks and Abilities Guide

In battles against multiple foes, are you allowed to choose Metronome or Sleep Talk's target?

Probably not; it seems like calming yourself down would only make you more inclined to sleep. Something like focus energy would work better.

..I'm so not used to Set style I don't get why people play like that hnnggg-

Ahem, if U-Turn is used in a Set battle, does the switch go through?
Alternately, would it be the Set style 'Switch = Faint' system?
And finally, would I post and confirm that the combatant is okay with Switchfainting their own 'Mon else ask them to redo their commands or just go ahead with it?

...Feels like such a terribly noob question but... le sigh~

See Baton Pass.

Baton Pass - Normal 100%
Target: Next friendly pokémon to be sent out
Class: Stat modifier (any and all)
Contest Type: Intimidating
Contest Score: +20

The user glows a reddish color and freezes in place, before reverting to a ball of glowing red energy. The trainer's next pokémon is sent out into this ball of energy, absorbing the baton passer's stat changes and some other special conditions before the user is returned to their pokéball. In addition to simple stat modifiers, the effects of ingrain, leech seed, and mean look may be passed. This attak may only be used in 2vs2 or greater matches, and only if the user's trainer has at least one pokémon left that has not yet been revealed. In addition, the pokémon that used baton pass must eventually be sent out again. Thus, in a 2vs2 battle if an absol passes to a pelipper and the pelipper faints, the absol must be sent out again with the same amount of HP/energy left as when it used baton pass, and it may at that point no longer baton pass.

Can Thunder Wave be used to intesify pre-existant paralysis? Or does it just fail against Pokémon lightly paralyzed?

You can zap a pokémon back to full paralysis with thunder wave, but if you keep doing it over and over they might start to resist the attack's effects.

Should a Pokémon use Teleport, is it capable or forced to carry over anything that's previously been attached to it?

Is it possible to Mimic any move that has been used thus far in the match, even if the Pokemon who used it is no longer on the field?

Heal Block prevents pokemon from recovering via any move. So what happens in the case of Pain Split? Will the pokemon still cause damage and just not recover, or will the move fail completely?

Edit:
Also, for clarification; In regards to two-turn moves like Bounce, Dig, Dive, etc., if they are used as a direct attack rather than just movement, can these moves be used in a single action like any other move or are they still required to take two actions?

If the whatever-it-is has been integrated with the pokemon's body, then yes, it is forced to take it along. So you couldn't leave behind the poison of toxic, any leech seeds that have become rooted in you, or some body mod integrated with the pokemon's actual flesh. However, if it's just something attached to or lying on top of the pokemon through more superficial means, the pokemon can choose to leave it behind. So a pokemon can teleport while leaving behind an item tied around its neck or the snorlax that was lying on top of it.

A pokemon is capable of teleporting with anything that it's in contact with, although energy use would obviously increase with the mass of what was being transported and the pokemon probably wouldn't be able to teleport many multiples of its body weight, especially if it was a lower evolution.

Attract counts as a status effect, right? If not, I'm screwed...
Attract counts as a status, although it's treated differently than paralysis, poison, and so on by some attacks (like facade). It's not a "major status condition."

Quick question. Is Roar able to wake a sleeping pokemon?
If it's normal sleep and not the trance caused by rest or something similar, then yes, roar can wake a pokemon up. It might not be able to if the pokemon is particularly deeply asleep, though.

Is it possible to Mimic any move that has been used thus far in the match, even if the Pokemon who used it is no longer on the field?
The chance that mimic will work decreases as you go back in time, as it becomes harder for pokemon to remember the details of an attack's execution. Anything over three actions ago is likely not going to work, unless perhaps it's very close to an attack the pokemon already knows or it got used a lot in the match. Whether or not the pokemon that used the attack is still on the field is irrelevant--it's time since the attack was last executed that matters.

Heal Block prevents pokemon from recovering via any move. So what happens in the case of Pain Split? Will the pokemon still cause damage and just not recover, or will the move fail completely?

You will see damage but no recovery on pain split.

Attacks like bounce, dive, and so on take one action to execute unless specified otherwise.

Would it be possible to combine Poison Tail and Iron Tail... like a Iron Tail seeped in Poison?

If so, does it still have chance of defence lowering and the high crit rate?

Also, what would the power and accuracy be? Iron Tail has 100p/75a, Poison Tail has 50/100

Does Iron Fist work like in the games (i.e. boosting everything with "Punch" on the name except Sucker Punch and including Hammer Arm), or does it also boost anything that could be conceivably be delivered as a punch (e.g. Giga Impact)?

Would Dream Eater used against a Liquid Ooze Pokémon heal or harm the user?

Hmm, yeah, that would probably work. The attack retains all qualities of the ones it comes from (so both higher crit rate and possible defense-lowering) and would have a base power of 175 with 75% accuracy.

Metallica Fanboy

Iron fist would increase the power of any attack delivered as a punch, though I wouldn't typically expect to see giga impact done that way.

Dream eater would still recover health if used on a liquid ooze pokemon.

Well, for the only Pokémon that gets Iron Fist naturally (i.e. Hitmonchan), I can't think of many better ways to use Giga Impact other than with the fists.

Also, could anything that can be used to deactivate/ignore inherent hovering by Levitate Pokémon (gastro acid, mold breaker, etc.) also be used to do the same with levitating Pokémon that hover but not because of an ability?

And if an attack mixes electricity with other forms of damage (e.g. punching, biting), would Lightningrod still draw the entire attack toward the Pokémon with the ability?

Lastly, while Solid Rock works the same way it does in the games, Filter seems to be far more efficient. Is that meant to be so?
