Brave New World

Exo-Raikou

It's over. I'm sorry, but it's over.
I can take you back to a time where there was peace. Where there was prosperity. Where we worked together in harmony, free of all strife and suffering.

I can take you back to a time where the idea of there being a divide amongst our kind - much less amongst our
world - was laughable.

I can take you back to that time... but only in your memory. For that time is gone forever.

Though to be honest, I don't know when it started. I doubt I'll ever know the exact day, but one of the days, the pokemon.... so many of the pokemon...

Well, you of course know the story. How the pokemon declared their desire to be free of Man, how so much of Man fell to their former friends, how that... that
creature declared open war against Man.

I am sure you know the rest - that there were some of us that chose to stay with Man, be it out of gratitude, loyalty, or our strength... for one reason or another, there are those of us that still stay with Man.

And now here we are, in a true living hell. Some of us hope to make strikes against
his land in the heart of the region, others of us are merely trying to survive in this new land.

And then, of course, there are those of us that are with
him. That army that still hopes to eradicate Man and his allies. I dare not think of what will happen if we should fall in battle... but then again, what would we be sans a drop in an ocean of blood?
----
I can take you back to a time where we lived in peace and worked together, where there was harmony among us all.

I can take you back to a time where destructive calamities were only from a Team running amok, or from the occasional rampage of one or two legendary creatures. In those times, though we never truly understood one another, we could still work in harmony.

I can take you back to a time... but only in death, when our mind lets us return there. For that time has since passed.

I still remember the day it happened. The day Hearthome was overrun by hordes of enraged pokemon from its surrounding routes; Staravia, Golbats, Roselia... they descended upon us all, with only the brief moment of our own pokemon screaming as a warning. I was lucky to escape with my life, much less with my own pokemon in tow. I can only shudder at the fate of those that couldn't escape from that deathtrap.

Of course, imagine my surprise only hours later, when I finally realized that I could understand the speech of pokemon as if it was my own. As time went by, I have encountered many others; others that can also understand their language; it seems this is a now-universal trait.

How long has it been since then? It doesn't matter. All that matters is that we found a place of refuge some time after that day. I don't know if we'll stay forever, though. After all, nobody is truly safe. Nobody and nothing.

New Sinnoh

Sinnoh, over the course of two months, has been turned into a vicious No Man's Land as a result of the rebellion. Most cities have become desolate ghost towns, or stomping grounds for the pokemon. These particular areas, however, are the most noteworthy:

Jubilife: The pokemon that led the rebellion chose to make this city one of his first targets, knowing that the technology therein presented a danger. As a result, the city suffered massive casualties within a day. Now, electric pokemon and steel pokemon use it as a stomping grounds, with a select few jamming the signals of the Global Link, ensuring that nobody can get word out to neighboring regions

The Old Chateau: A haven; the local ghosts find humans more entertaining to be around than they do their fellow pokemon.

Hearthome: The area most fortified by the rebellion's leader and his current base of operations. Pokemon of all kinds can be found here, while the many buildings of the city have been all-but destroyed, replaced instead by stone structures created by local rock-types

Solaceon: In the earliest hours of the rebellion, when the town was being attacked by the local wild pokemon, the Unown woke from the ruins and formed some kind of psychic dome over the town. The effect of the dome is unclear, for pokemon and humans alike have been able to enter and exit it with ease. However, when they are in the town, they find that it is devoid of a single sign of life; be it human or pokemon. All they can find are perfectly intact, perfectly empty, buildings...

Veilstone: The natural isolation of the town protected it from being completely overrun in the earliest stages of the rebellion, and now the place is protected from the pokemon with Team Galactic technology that provides shielding, and local psychic trainers provide a constant boost to the sheilds. The only way to get through the sheild is through one of the two gates; the gates in question are heavily guarded by humans and their pokemon.

Celestic: This area isn't much of a haven for humans, but wayward pokemon that aren't with the rebellion always seem to end up here. The humans of this town were killed or fled during the early stages of the rebellion, and the town is so isolated that no human has made an attempt to stay there for too long.

Canalave: This being a major port town, the leader of the rebellion made this city his second target, personally leading attacks against the ships that frequently left the port, and hunting down any ships that might have already set sail. The fates of the small islets of the coast of this city, meanwhile, remain unknown - nobody has ever sought out those islands and returned.

Battle Zone: The island now lives up to the name of one of its three sectors: Survival Area. For the island is filled to the brim with hostile pokemon of all kinds, yet also has a great deal of humans that have been able to take refuge from the rampaging pokemon in places all over the island.

As for the other regions... well, no contact has been made either way. So nobody truly knows...

You can be pretty much anywhere you want, though within reasons allowed by your character (A rebel wouldn't, say, be in Veilstone unless he was a prisoner, and vice-versa for humans in Hearthome)

And your reservation is accepted

I'll reserve a spot as well.

Name: Alison Freeman
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Side: Human

Appearance:
Alison is a petite girl, standing at about 5'2", weighting about 45kg and has a very modest chest size. She has short black hair with several purple strands scattered through it. Due to a rare mutation in her eyes called "Alexandria's Genesis" they are coloured a faint purple; dark circles under her eyes shows signs of deprived sleep.

Alison wears a black and white headset, a black hoodie, and purple sweatpants. Both of the two latter looks a fair few sizes too big for her.

Personality:
Alison has a particularly unusual quirk in her personality that causes her to change between two personalities when not interacting with anyone for extended periods of time. It's not actually a split personality, as the two personalities do not identify as different people but rather simply two different ways of socially interacting with others. Alison herself is not aware of this phenomenon and reacts with surprise if someone mentions it.

Alison's first personality is shy and socially inept, a nerd who often goes on long rants using terms and comparisons no one but herself understands. On a more positive note, she's also very strategic and logical in this state. Her second personality is far more outgoing, being bold, witty and and a quick thinker. However in this state she's also arrogant, selfish and hotheaded, not to mention rather violent.

History:
Born in Jubilife City, Alison was for the earliest parts of her life, not interested in anything but her computer. Day after day she would sit there, learning new ways to use and abuse the technology at her hands. The only real friend she had was her cousin, who was the only one who could drag her away from her computer.

As they grew older, her cousin would come to join a group of gangsters called Galvantula's Web, and he coaxed Alison to join. While the other gang members were initially reluctant, she proved herself great for intel gathering and the occasional digital thievery. Eventually she was trusted with a gun and more personal missions, and she started growing an attitude to fit.

Fate was not kind, however, as the attack on Jubilife City would happen just a few months later. While she got away with her life, Alison was so shocked and traumatized it threw her mind into chaos, causing her to go into the state of switching personalities she experiences at present.

Team:
N/A

Other: She carries a gun, to compensate for the fact she does not have any 'mons to defend herself with.

So I started working on my form and if I am to be honest I think it looks pretty bad so far.

Anyway, where exactly are the human characters going to start? I'd like to know that before I write history.

Stormecho, you are reserved

And Throne, a human can start pretty much anywhere, though it's advised that you use common sense (offhand, I would say that a human would be more likely to start off in Veilstone or one of the routes as opposed to, say... Jubilfe or Hearthome)

Reserve me a spot, though it might not be long until the form is ready.

EDIT: Done :D

Name: Shawn

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Species: Absol

Side: Human

Appearance: Pretty much your normal Absol at first glance. Although, if you look closer, he has a few minor alterations. For example, instead of having red eyes like most Absol, his eyes are a deep blue. Also, there is a small chip off of the tip of his horn, making it slightly shorter. Shawn's claws are also made out of solid rock (most likely caused by a number of breeding incidents by his ancestors). He's also smaller than most Absol his age.

Personality: Shawn, most of the time is carefree, fun to be around, and highly stubborn. But, he occasionally starts to stare off into nothing and starts thinking. He rufuses to talk about what people ask about it. And other than that, PO.

History:
NOTE: Most of this Shawn does not remember.

It all started after Shawn was born. Or, to be exact, one week after he was born. Shawn doesn't remember this, of course, but he was raised by a very loving family, (His father, mother, and older sister.) in central Mt. Coronet. They lived a very good life for a short while. At least, until it happened.

One day, Shawn's father was out hunting. He heard a rustle in the bushes, and licked his lips, hoping for a Bidoof. The Absol pounced on the bush, scythe raised, when a large, violet shape attacked him. The beast had no arms nor did it have legs. It had a feirce stare, and black markings on its upper body that would've struck fear into a Houndoom. The Arbok pinned him down to prevent escape, and a humanoid shape appeared behind him. The human held up two meltal rods that were stuck together, and aimed them at the Absol.

Back at the Absol territory, the whole family heard a loud bang. Soon after, the smell of smoke filled the air, and a number of yellow shapes appeared at the base of the mountain. The yellow beasts started ascending the mountain quickly. Shawn's mother then handed him to his sister and headed down the mountain. Apon getting closer, one could easily tell that there was a single human inside each unit. One of the beasts that had a single clawed arm stuck its claw in the ground and pulled out a clump of dirt.

Shawn's mother kept moving foward, despite the holes. Apparently, the construction workers were oblivious to her, as well. The clawed arm came down on the Absol, and she let out a loud howl. Shawn started crying, and his sister carried him to safety, to a distant area east of the mountain.

She took care of Shawn for years, until Shawn was old enough to fend for himself. She let him go, but kept an eye on him. Shawn made his way to... well... just wherever he ends up. Eventually, his sister stopped following him, and Shawn was just fine.

A few months later, Shawn came to a town known to the humans as Hearthome. Shawn was shocked at the sight. Pokemon were unleashing utter chaos on the humans. Shawn hated it, as he hated chaos. He swore to himself that he would help the humans restore balance, and he took reside in Veilstone.

Name: L'Arc-En-Ciel
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Species: Togekiss
Side: Undecided

Appearance: [sprite] - [art1] - [art2]

L'Arc is a very large Togekiss, measuring in at just over 7 feet tall, and looking quite different from your average Togekiss. His feathers are soft and white, though instead of red and blue, his belly is spotted with purple and blue, and his wings are tipped purple. He also has purple feathers on his face and tail, as well as round red gemstones in his forehead and on his tail. His legs are featherless and black, and end in wicked talons. He also wears a black leather collar with an Electrizer attached.

Personality: [going to PO this mostly cause if I don't this will get really massive]

L'Arc is much smarter than he appears, but he's also quiet, so it's hard to tell. He has a bit of a cruel streak when he battles, and doesn't take nonsense from anyone. He has a (well-hidden) soft spot for little girls.

History: L'Arc was born a long time ago. He hardly remembers his youth, only the strange, metal walls of the place he was brought as a young Togepi. The facility was large, and meant to look comforting, but the Pokemon gathered knew better. L'Arc remembers crying. He remembers a doctor, and a nurse who looked sad. He remembers her telling him to not cry, and a poffin. He remembers staying quiet, and he remembers the doctor putting a needle into him. Then he remembers darkness.

When he woke up, he remembers being put into the arms of a young man, who patted his head and said comforting things to him, and he remembers being happy. He remembers feeling odd, and seeing the red gemstone and purple feathers on his face in a mirror at the man's house. He remembers the man putting him on a soft bed, next to a woman with a round belly, and it surprised him. He remembers touching her belly, and the woman laughing and petting his feathers, and telling him about why her belly was round. He remembers being warm and happy and the woman and man letting him sleep in their bed. Then, L'Arc remembers the human baby, and being older. The man and woman told him that the baby was going to be his friend. He remembers sitting in the crib with the baby, and being happy. He remembers Vienna, his friend. He loved Vienna, and still loves her. He remembers when she could sit up like him, and when she could put her soft arms around him, and when she smiled and laughed and told him his name. He remembers love.

He remembers the bright light, the strange feeling as his body changed. He remembers being a Togetic. He remembers his Vienna getting big, and going away to school. He remembers when she could go to the bus with only him waiting with her, instead of Daddy or Mommy, and he remembers missing her while she was gone. And then, she could take him too! He remembers being happy. Vienna showed him to her people-friends, and they showed their Pokemon-friends too. He liked having friends, but Vienna was still his favourite. And then, Vienna was even bigger, and Daddy told L'Arc that he was going to go on a journey with her, and he was excited, even though Daddy looked sad. He knew that Daddy and Mommy would miss Vienna and also him, but that it would be fun.

He remembers battles and trainers and having fun and playing and even more poffins, and the people all being confused why he looked strange. He remembers Vienna saying that he was something called a 'Delta', and that L'Arc was a dragon. He remembers badges, and money, and ribbons, and contests, and then he remembers the Stone. The stone was beautiful and bright, and Vienna asked him if he wanted it, and he said yes. And then the strange feeling back back again, and he was bigger and stronger than before, and Vienna could ride on his back, and he knew he was a Togekiss now, and he was an adult, just like his Vienna was becoming.

Vienna was big now, and pretty like Mommy, L'Arc remembers. He remembers boys looking at her, and scaring them if he caught them doing it, because he was big and strong and a dragon and they were not. It made Vienna laugh, and he liked when she did that. But, then there was a boy Vienna said he wasn't allowed to scare away, and she said it in a stern voice so he knew she meant it. She said that she loved the boy, and L'Arc knew what love was, so he let him come near, and even pet him sometimes. Vienna told him that the boy was named Payden, and L'Arc started to warm up to him. He remembers the little wedding, and Mommy crying and daddy looking proud. Then, he remembers Vienna's belly getting round, but he know what was happening this time, and he promised to protect her and Baby.

And then the fighting started. L'Arc managed to get Vienna and Baby away safe, but he doesn't know what happened to Payden. He went to look for Payden, but didn't find him, and when he cam back for Vienna, she was gone. Now, L'Arc does not know what to think, and wanders Sinnoh quietly, not letting anyone know of his search, and helping either side as he sees fit.

Reserving a spot, hrm. :)

Name: Raicha
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Species: Raichu
Side: Human

Appearance: A shiny Raichu with frizzed spots of hair at her joints and by her cheeks. She is generally a little leaner than the usual Raichu and a bit taller (3'5") with muscular arms and large paws. She also sports an expert belt that's tied around the length of her tail like bandage, (a gift from her late trainer).

Personality: Raicha tends to be very just and optimistic but can tell the difference between idealism and reality. She chooses to do what is needed than what she is supposed to do 9 out of 10 times which makes her on the stubborn side. Despite her positive thinking, she can be short tempered and one sided, wanting others to see as she does without considering all circumstances.

History: Raicha was born of a male Primeape and female Pikachu that were bred in a lab to try and create a dual type hatchling. The newly hatched Raicha was under tests to see the effectiveness of their studies when poachers broke into the lab one night and made off with her. Due to the dirt and rock trail shaking the escape car, she managed to slip out of the vehicle. Unfortunately, she ended up in an unfamiliar terrain, the mountains by Pallet Town. She was significantly weak and powerless against her many opponents, being at a disadvantage against the ground type that lurked about in the wild. Too often she was beaten knowing only electric type moves and was forced to run from most battles to stay alive.

Weeks later, Raicha was discovered by a man that was out training. She was knocked out in a pile of smashed rocks, a recent but definite loss. The man took her home and treated her till she was back in good health before training her in his dojo. The man's name was Bruno, a master fighting type trainer. To give her edge in battle he went about her training as if she were a fighting type. This was a difficult task but proved effective in battle and acted as a catalyst, igniting the fighting type DNA within her. Raicha picked up the habit of moving on her hind legs like a boxer for closer combat and how to land combination punches with the help of Bruno's Hitmonchan as her mentor.

As a Pikachu, Raicha was given to a younger trainer, Bella to accompany her on her first journey. Bruno was the uncle of this girl and had promised her a Pokemon for her 10th birthday. The gift was Raicha.

To Raicha's dismay, Bella was not interested in taking on the Pokemon League. Bella's dream was to be a top Pokemon Coordinator. Raicha was more into having wild battles with other Pokemon and immediately chose to ignore her commands. Not only was this brat without any experience, she was clashing with her interests.

Bella was just as stubborn as Raicha and brought her to her first contest. Raicha was dumbfounded by the strength displayed by the other performers and their strategic combinations used to appeal to the judges. When it was Bella and Raicha's turn, they failed miserably. This hit Raicha hard, having been on a winning streak all the while she was training in the dojo.

On that day, Bella promised she wouldn't let her lose ever again otherwise she'd give Raicha back to Bruno. From then on, Bella and Raicha worked together to satisfy each others interests. She turned out to be a prized performer, always groomed and spoiled but trained day and night. Regardless of the goods and services Bella provided, the two developed an unbreakable bond. They performed for the next couple of years, not leaving a region till they took home a significant amount of ribbons. The only grand festival they won was in Hoenn but they performed well enough to leave their mark in Johto and Kanto.

Then on the day Hearthome was under attack, it was Raicha's debut in the Sinnoh region. The hysteria separated the two and Bella was killed. Raicha was enraged by this but was forced to run away like those many years ago in the mountains. For the past two months, Raicha has taken refuge in Veilstone but continuously searches for clues on leads on where to find the leader. She is determined to reunite trainer and Pokemon for she regrets having lost hers.

Coloursfall and Greaser Lala are accepted.

I think - for now - four characters is the limit. This can change at a moment's notice, mind you.

Now, I will post the profile of the rebellion's leader, the Big Bad himself:

Name: Jiongu

Age: 160

Gender: Male

Species: Dragonite

Appearance: The only thing Jiongu has in common with the standard Dragonite is the shape of his body - the coloration and the size are much, much less similar. For one thing, Jiongu is big even for the standards of a Dragonite - easily over eight and a half feet tall. His scales, meanwhile, are are deep black instead of the brilliant gold, his chest with a color reminiscent of drying blood, his wings chalk-white instead of the ocean blue, and most of all, his eyes - they are a sickly, sickly green, with no way to distinguish the pupil or sclera from one another

Side: Pokemon

Personality: Jiongu is spiteful. Spiteful at the humans, for all of the torment that they have done to him over the years, spiteful at the "good" humans, for doing nothing to stop it, spiteful at the pokemon, for letting it happen to them for so long, and spiteful at the resistance, for stopping his uprising. He is also very vicious and brutal in battle to the point that he can make a Hydreigon look meek and soft in comparison. His preferred combat style is that there's always a level of force against which no tactics can succeed, and it is his belief that he has that level of force at hand whenever he needs it. When not in battle, he leads the rebellion with an iron fist; in his eyes, showing even the slightest bit of mercy is worthy of a death sentence. However, two months into his rule, and Jiongu's sanity is slowly but surely collapsing - he is becoming more and more bloodthirsty day by day. This has made manipulating him very easy for a certain lietenant of his...

History: The conditions Jiongu was born in were, shall we say, less than desirable. The lake that he and his kin were living on was on the receiving end of a power plant, and this of course meant that to live past the age of 25 was a blessing. He was captured by a roving trainer when he was around twenty, but by then his entire family had succumbed to the toxicity of the water. That being said, he was elated at being caught by a trainer... for all of a day. For it was then that he learned - painfully - that his trainer wasn't the sort of fellow that took kindly to a pokemon that was struggling, even one was as weak as a Dratini is; he was violently beaten by his trainer every time the team lost a battle, even if the loss wasn't actually his fault, and while his time with that abusive trainer strengthened him to the point of becoming a Dragonair, it didn't give that much going for his psyche.

Still, karma balances things out - after the trainer's antics pissed off his Slakoth enough to evolve, the abuser met his end at the hands of a Vigoroth. Jiongu was freed as a result; that was the good news. The bad news was the lesson he took away from the entire debacle: humans will only understand the pain they cause if it is paid back in kind. Since he knew that as a Dragonair, he lacked the capacity to pay them back in this way, he merely fled from his trainer's corpse before another human spotted him and tried to catch him. But the lesson he learned there would be one that he would carry for the rest of his life.

He ended up fleeing for the nearest body of water he could find, which ended up being another lake; one much, much cleaner than the one he was raised in. While he initially went to heal all of the scars - physical and otherwise - from his time with the trainer, he found himself staying there; it was a serene place, with not a human for miles around. There were, however, others of his kind. One Dragonair in particular - one that helped him tend to all of his wounds - ended up being the main reason he stayed in that lake instead of leaving to try and find a way to get revenge on the humans. The two fell in love, and after twenty years together, they evolved into Dragonite together. From there, they set out to the mountains; to find a place where they could live comfortably together until the time came for a possible Dratini hatching. It seemed that Jiongu had found eternal peace.

It didn't last.

As it turned out, the scales of a Dragonite fetch extremely high prices on the market, and the eyes of a poacher were more attentive than one might think. A group of poachers tracked down the two Dragonites about four years after the evolution, and before either of them knew what had happened, Jiongu's mate was outfought by the poacher's pokemon and killed right before his eyes. That lone event reawakened the seething fury towards humans that the Dragonite had kept buried for so long, and he flew into a state of frenzy, killing every pokemon and poacher that was in the cave, at the cost of being mortally wounded himself. He lay there, dying, cursing all of Man in his last thoughts.

But it seemed that fortune hadn't yet abandoned Jiongu: Giratina, who had sensed the entire bloodbath, offered the dying Jiongu a Faustian arrangement: Jiongu could return, stronger than he had ever been, and would be able to exact his revenge on mankind, but once Jiongu was killed a second time, his soul would be absorbed into Giratina's being and used to strengthen the Renegade's own power. Without even a moment's hesitation, Jiongu took the deal.

So Giratina returned the Dragonite to life, with the appearance he has now, as well as the little bonus of all of his attacks being charged with Dark energy, though he also gained the... inhibitions that those of the Dark-type had. The Dragonite's first instinct was to strike at Man then and there, but common sense told that if he wanted to wipe out the humans, he would need numbers. Allies. As much force as he could muster. To that end, he traveled Sinnoh, spreading dissent against mankind among the wild pokemon. He did so while always hidden - he didn't want to reveal himself to anyone until the time was right. He did so for nearly one hundred years, and only rarely had to kill someone unfortunate enough to see him for what he really was.

And then, finally, two months ago, he struck. Gathering what allies he could find, he led an attack on Jubilife and then Canalave, wiping out whatever humans he could find. At the same time, wild pokemon all over the region lashed out at the nearest human settlement they could find, killing countless humans over the course of a single day. From there, Jiongu flew for the center of Sinnoh - Hearthome - and declared the city as his territory.

In the time since then, Jiongu has been solidifying his rule as Sinnoh's king, unaware of the "fine print" that Giratina included in their deal: once Jiongu eventually did start his attack on man, the Dragonite's mind would slowly decay. It will decay until one day in the possibly not-so-distant future, where he will become little more than a rampaging, uncontrollable killing machine.

Moves:

Hyper Beam | 90% Acc. | 150 Power | Special | NORMAL
The target is attacked with a powerful beam. The user must rest on the next turn to regain its energy.

Earthquake | 100% Acc. | 100 Power | Physical | GROUND
The user sets off an earthquake that strikes those around it.

Blizzard | 70% Acc. | 120 Power | Special | ICE
A howling blizzard is summoned to strike the opposing team. It may also freeze them solid.

Draco Meteor | 90% Acc. | 140 Power | Special | DRAGON
Comets are summoned down from the sky onto the target. The attack's recoil harshly reduces the user's Sp. Atk stat.

Fire Blast | 85% Acc. | 120 Power | Special | FIRE
The target is attacked with an intense blast of all-consuming fire. It may also leave the target with a burn.

Hurricane | 70% Acc. | 120 Power | Special | FLYING
The user attacks by wrapping its opponent in a fierce wind that flies up into the sky. It may also confuse the target.

Dragon Rush | 75% Acc. | 100 Power | Physical | DRAGON
The user tackles the target while exhibiting overwhelming menace. It may also make the target flinch.

Thunder | 70% Acc. | 120 Power | Special | ELECTR
A wicked thunderbolt is dropped on the target to inflict damage. It may also leave the target with paralysis.

Other:
- As a result of accepting his Deal with Giratina, Jiongu's attacks have increased in power (though not in accuracy), and are also charged with a Dark subtype
- He himself also has unknowingly gained the defensive privileges and immunities that Dark-types have, meaning that his new list of damage increase/decrease is as follows:
- Weakness: Ice (4x), Dragon (2x); he also now takes neutral damage from Fighting and Bug attacks
- Resistance: Water (1/2x), Fire (1/2x), Dark (1/2x), Ghost (1/2x) Grass (1/4x), Psychic (Immune)
- As mentioned above, his preferred strategy is to attack with as much force as possible; this includes using attacks in conjunction with one another (such as, say Hurricane and Thunder) for added force, though this exhausts him rather quickly if done too much
- The aforementioned Lieutenant will become another character of mine
