In no particular order:

Last Scenario. It's this freeware RPG, and I just fell in love with the plot and characters.
The whole Ace Attorney series. Because. It. Is. Awesome.
Cave Story -- if you haven't heard of it, 's another freeware game, a platformer. (Which, incidentally, has the greatest music EVER.)
Zelda: Wind Waker. Way better than Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess -- and how can anyone hate the graphics? ; ;
Out of Order. Yet another freeware game (point-and-click adventure) with great puzzles and a brilliant sense of humor.
Super Smash Brothers. Need I say any more?

EDIT: GAH I'm a total failure how in the WORLD could I forget Portal, possibly the best game ever D:

Allow me to add to my list:

Tales of Symphonia: if you haven't heard of this, it's a very nice RPG with a great plot and characters. It has a few too many features, but it's still very, very worth playing.
The World Ends With You: wonderfully original RPG with an addictive battle system and absolutely amazing characters. (Seriously, my therapist is blown away by them.) You will get so attached it'll actually be worth playing for 100% completion.
Exit Fate: okay, so I haven't nearly finished this one, but believe me, it's good. Made by the person who made Last Scenario, this RPG is still very different; 75 recruitable characters, interesting spell, armor and item system, amazing artwork, and, of course, a very interesting plot. Play it or die.

I'm suprised at the lack of R/B and SSB64 from the lists. All I see are mostly newer games....tis a shame.
