Kali laid herself sprawled out lengthwise on a sofa, as the TV began to turn on, and Jake sat down right in front of her on the ground, leaning back against the sofa. He was all sweaty and out of breath from the training session, but Kali acted as if she was over it already. She rested a paw on Jake's shoulder, which made him glance back to see her.

"Huh?"

Kali didn't reply, though. Instead, she just smiled, rolling onto her side so that she faced him and the TV. The sofa itself was big, but it wasn't meant to be a Flygon's bed, and even though Kali's head was resting on the armrest on one side, her snout facing the TV and her antennae laying just off the side of the sofa, her tail dangled all the way off the other side, drooping down to the ground and partly lying flat against that.

Jake just gave a bit of a chuckle and leaned his head back against the Flygon's tummy, lifting an arm back to pet against her smooth, plush scales. His link-suit laid in a glowing green ball in front of him, swirling with light and dark green colors with a pinch of light red. He was finally starting to calm down from the earlier exertions.., But then her heard something on the TV that just made him freeze up.

"Today, Mr. Jacob Former, was released on early parole. His trial for countless murders and acts of terror across the city was noted by the disappearance of any witness who attempted to testify. Mr. Former's identity was revealed to the public by the costumed hero known as Buzzcut."

The statement brought back memories, of when his own parents were killed by another early-releasee and his gang. Just being forced to relive those moments brought tears to his eyes. "Why would they let such a guy go so early?" he asked, in almost a desperate voice, standing up and picking up his suit with him. But as he began to approach Kay,he began to wonder, But why does that name sound so familiar...? Kali watched them head toward the door, then slinked off the sofa herself, walking up to them on all fours, her wings folded along her back.

As Jake stood beside Kay, walking for the doorway, he suddenly remembered. "Oh yeah, that's right! I remember, it was a big thing...Jacob Former... he was my parents' first high-profile at the new firm... No wonder he's out so early, my parents managed to drop the first degree murder charges, so he'd only end up with lesser charges. They were the best attorneys ever... So it's only been 4 years then? Well, at least one good thing happened because of the trial... I met you."

Markha took off her Link-Suit, crawling into her bed gingerly. She never got much sleep because of her almost constant night patrols, so she flopped down in bed, breathing deeply. Fireclaw stood outside, sleeping in the cover of many bushes once more, so that no one could find her. The two, although apart, slept soundly, and for quite a while.

Markha woke up late in the morning, brought back from the darkened world of sleep by the sun's bright rays that had managed to fight their way through Markha's small, blue-curtained window. Shielding her eyes for a moment, she sat up, leaning forward slightly to collect herself. She was still a bit sleepy, but didn't worry much; often, she fully woke up quickly. She slid out of bed, walking calmly through the narrow hallway. Her normal morning routine was to turn on the television to the news and see if anything important to her was happening. Of course, with all the crimes, there was something.

Suddenly, a deep voice came from the living room. "Kangaskhan."

Markha flicked her head towards the voice, and noticed that the Kangaskhan had gotten in during the night to sleep inside. Fireclaw was pointing towards the door and rotating her fist. Realization hit Markha; she must have forgotten to lock the door. They were extremely lucky that they hadn't been robbed.

Markha sat down on her armchair; when Fireclaw was lying down, she took up the entire sofa's space. Quickly, Markha took the remote and pushed the power button. The television was already on the news channel. The two were just in time for one of the most important parts of the broadcast.

Today, Mr.Jacob Former, was released on early parole. His trial for countless murders and acts of terror across the city was noted by the disappearance of any witness who attempted to testify. Mr.Former's identity was revealed to the public by the costumed hero known as Buzzcut.

Markha somewhat recognized the name; she knew that there were a few others with Link-Suits who were fighting the crime. This "Buzzcut" was one of them, but that was only a nickname -- just like her "Dynamo."

"Kanga?" Fireclaw asked. It seemed that she was wondering why he was released from prison so early.

Markha had the same question, but didn't ask it; instead, she suddenly snapped, "What? That former guy is out of prison!?"

Fireclaw sighed; sometimes Markha overreacted. Markha's head quickly turned to the Kangaskhan, but then a smile grew across her face. Her Kangaskhan was so amusing sometimes, how she acted so much like a human -- such as going into the house on her own. But then again, Markha wasn't surprised; Kangaskhan's hands were much like humans' except with claws; it was no wonder Fireclaw had such dexterity. So intelligent she could learn how to write, Markha joked in her mind. But her thoughts slowly trailed back to the situation. She didn't know much about Mr. Former, but she knew that he was connected with some powerful Pokémon -- that was one reason he was so famous.

And for the first time in quite a while, fear began to build up deep within Markha's heart.

The Warehouse wasn't hard to find. It was hard not to notice. Were he any less agile, Rune would have been caught within the first minute of his observations. This was a big meeting place for low-level scum. These guys were much lower than team rocket. Why would so many criminals come to one place. Just as he was about to leave and try to actually do some work, Rune saw the black limozine pull up. Out stepped Former.
"Good evening, everyone. I'm so glad to see my time in prion has not affected the influence I have."
Former was slick, and handsome. He commanded a powerful presence behind him, even without his link-suit, this was a man to fear, and respect. A black suit, a small gold watch reflecting the street-lights, and of course, the stero-typical goutee.
"Gentlemen, I am here to offer you a gift. In exchange for working for me, I will provide you with." He snapped his fingers, and 3 men opened to huge steel door, and pulled out a huge crate from within.
"Link-suits. And of course, I have all manner of pokemon within this building for you to link with. Just ask, and I'm sure we can find something that suits your needs. If you prefer to bond with one of your own pokemon, that is perfectly acceptable as well. I only have one request. Get my link-suit back. The person who does this for me, will never have to work again, I promise you."

Rune and Scyther nodded at each other, and pulled away. They were good, but there were close to 60 people there, they couldn't fight them all.

"Scyther, no sleep tonight, we need to watch out for the start of the spree. We need to warn people. We need to get help." So they did what they could. Every so often, they would fight someone in a Link-suit, usually Fire or Poison types. But there were too many. They left a note at the police stations, telling the officers what to prepare for in the coming days. The next day, on the front page, on all the news programs, everywhere, Rune's message was being put out.
"Police officers, emergency response teams, costumed heroes, in the coming days there will be a wave of crime unlike anything you have ever seen before. This is something too big to be done individually. Any heroes with an interest in an organized attack on these criminals, please meet me on top of the Silph Building, tonight, at midnight, if you have any interest in saving this city. -Buzzsaw" Rune knew it was slim. Odds were, most heroes would just ignore his plea. But he had to try. He knew what they were up against. By the next morning, there would be crimes all across the city. There had never been more than a dozen link-suited criminals free at one time, but with sixty loose at once, it was like opening the gates of hell to Orchard.

"Hmmm. A request eh?"

Xaldin had just passed a couple of men discussing about the recent plea of help from the "hero" Buzzcut.

"You know, we should help him. He sounds like he really needs the help." Nightslice mused.

"Remember, only if there is a good reward. The orphanage is in real need of money right now." Xaldin replied.

"Ya, I know it is our duty to keep it up and running, right?"

Xaldin nodded. "Yes, it is. Remember, both of our Fathers built it. They were a great man and Pokémon."

At the mention of his father, Xaldin's thoughts turned to his father. Subconsciously, he clutched his father's pendant. It, and his twin blades, one a white steel, and another a black obsidian, were the only momentous the he has left of his father. Hell, he doesn't even know if he is alive!

"So, we are going to meet him at midnight, right?"

Xaldin turned to his partner.

"Huh? Oh, definitely. But, we will only join him if there is a reward."

Kay scowled down at the newspaper in her hands as she sat at the dinner table the next day, having spent the previous night scouring the city with no luck. The front page was sporting a large message, which she snorted at, and then proceeded to read aloud.

"'Police officers, emergency response teams, costumed heroes, in the coming days there will be a wave of crime unlike anything you have ever seen before. This is something too big to be done individually. Any heroes with an interest in an organized attack on these criminals, please meet me on top of the Silph Building, tonight, at midnight, if you have any interest in saving this city. -Buzzsaw'"

She glanced at Cookie, and snorted, and the Roserade tilted her head. With a barking laugh, Kay tossed the paper down on the table and attacked the meal in front of her. After eating in silence for a few minutes, she put down the fork, and folded her arms over her chest. Cookie blinked and tilted her head the other way.

"What a foolish message. Anyone could see this, even him." She stated flatly, the only hint of emotion in the last word as she spat it out as if it tasted bad.

"Do we go?" Cookie asked, picking up a butter knife and twirling it in her hand.

"We go. But be careful." Kay said pulling the Link-Suit orb from her pocket. She got to her feet and carefully tucked in her chair, and cleaned up her dinner dishes. "Let's get ready."

Ciel had taken to walking again. Something was up, and risking going out with the Raikou guy possibly having his suit.. Damn, she hated not flying for even a night. A newspaper flew past her in a gust of sudden wind, and Ciel reached out and caught it. Oops. Hopefully no one had seen that; her reflexes weren't supposed to be that good, nope.

Wincing, Ciel looked at the newspaper, walking towards an alley. Luckily, the newspaper was dated today, so.. A message in big block letters, on the front page, caught her eye.

'Police officers, emergency response teams, costumed heroes, in the coming days there will be a wave of crime unlike anything you have ever seen before. This is something too big to be done individually. Any heroes with an interest in an organized attack on these criminals, please meet me on top of the Silph Building, tonight, at midnight, if you have any interest in saving this city. -Buzzsaw'

Wave of crime? Buzzsaw? Ciel frowned, not.. well that was great. She had no idea who this 'Buzzsaw' was, but she'd be willing to bet her link-suit that he was one of those out to get her.

Funny that I have so many enemies, though they don't know they're my enemies. Hiding her smirk by turning the newspaper, Ciel thought further. Midnight tonight. Oh yeah, today, no, tonight would be a great time to go out and take what she could from places, rob big banks and such. She could have a name tonight. How convenient that this Buzzsaw left a nice little notice that other link-suit heroes couldn't ignore..

Wait, a voice in her head stopped her. Why don't you go too? Are you stupid, she shot back. Going would be.. going might be a good idea, actually.

If she went and saw and was seen by a bunch of the 'heroes', Ciel would both know what she was up against and have free passage for a while. If she ran into any of the heroes at night she'd make up an excuse; oh, she was chasing a figure in the alley that she thought was carrying a bunch of big bags. Oh hey, look over there, that store's being robbed! This could work to her own, dirty purposes.

Of course, Ciel would have to fade into the shadows and not be noticed that much. She'd be in trouble if she was asked for her opinion on something, or directly approached for her name or something. Or god forbid, even start to like one of them. Ugh. Starting to walk again, Ciel began to plan a backstory for herself. Maybe.. she could have watched her parents die after they had left a movie theater. This was going to be fun.

"Well well well...seems the police will need the help...this should piss off some criminals, as well as a few lawyers if I have my gut in check."

Serena leans back in the couch, folding the newspaper onto her lap and leans her head back to look up at Ming.

"So Ming. Do we stay or do we?"

"It may prove useful to go..together, we may capture them before real harm comes to us. And with you and Halan, you two can tell if a captive is lying or not."

"Yeah...then we should go. And this is feels like a team efort thing, so that annoying flower child would likely not show up. i like this idea. Let's go!"

Ming lets out a sigh, lifting her hand and causing Serena's link-siut to appear in her hand with a quick teleport. She hands it to her partner and watches her slip it into her bag. Serena was about to leave when a thought struck her. She quickly picks up the phone and calls her friend's cell phone.

"Come on Kay..."

"Your plan is foolish Buzzsaw. I think your mind is really starting to slip". Scyther was glaring at Rune, furious at what Rune had told him to do the previous night/
"Listen, I didn't have any choice! Do you want this city unprepared! Do you remember what Former is like? If he gets his suit, we're all dead. Not just heroes, but this whole city! I send out that rather obvious message, to get help, and to trick the more stupid criminals into coming to us, instead of trying to get Former's suit. Every person we disable is one less chance that Former can get his suit. The police are warned, and are prepared, but they can't fight off that many at once. It's got to be tactical. I need as many heroes as I can get, to go, and help protect the suit." Rune was shaking. A combination of a lack of sleeping for 2 days, the stress of constantly fending off small attacks, and a growing fear that Scyther was right, that nobody would come. Scyther hesitated a moment, then spoke.
"Listen, whatever happens, you're doing your best, and nobody will fault you for doing everything you can to help this city. Least of all me. Buzzsaw, you were there the first time Heroes assembled."
"And I was the only one who survived that fight. The first 3 heroes of the city were killed or worse. Look at Nightmind. He was the best of us. They even have a memorial to him at city hall. Not the man, but the hero he was to the public."
"Rune..."
"Drop it Scyther. Okay? we've... we've got work to do." Rune was glad that his mask covered his eyes, so that Scyther couldn't see him crying.

And they left, to fight anything that came their way until that night.

"Hmm, I've heard of that guy," muttered Sid, holding the newspaper in his hand. The guy was famous, more so than he was. Sid would have to do something about that. "Weird of him putting it in the paper, though; Any old person could see it. Any thoughts, Spooky?"

The Dusknoir solidified into view, looking peeved.

"I still don't know how you can tell I'm there without the Link-Suit on... but anyway, I'm sure this guy has his reasons. He could know something we don't, you know."

"Well, I suppose... Think we should go?"

"Well, I do believe that we have at least a passing interest in the city's welfare, don't you agree?"

"But of course!" said Sid, only slightly sarcastic. He grabbed his Link-Suit, jammed it the pocket on the inside of his lower pants leg, and left his study. After a quick slide down the banister of the stairs, Sid walked out the door and pointed himself towards the Silph Building.

The Kangaskhan's ears flicked as she wandered towards an oddly empty alleyway. Markha followed, and she pounced into the area, but knew she was being foolish; only a stray Poochyena. It was picking among a trash can, and Markha wanted to help it very badly, but she didn't know how. She couldn't take it in; it had probably been someone's. Then she caught sight of the dark blue collar. But the Poochyena was growling, and she knew it was best to leave. Markha and Fireclaw rounded back across the corner, looking for anything suspicious in the sunset.

"Maybe we should turn in early," Fireclaw suggested, followed by a huge yawn that only strengthened her opinion.

"There must be something going on," Markha replied, but then she nodded. "Whatever you want, I guess. As long as there are other police officers. Maybe."

"This section of the city is pretty empty, though," Fireclaw pointed out, looking down to Markha at her side. "There's hardly anything worth stealing."

Markha thought for a moment. "Fine," she then replied to her partner, breaking into a faster pace. The Kangaskhan easily kept up with her, and Markha smiled, although it faded as she thought about it. It was oddly silent here; what could be going on? Even in this section of the city, there were often at least some criminals that were usually behind kidnapping. So why wasn't anyone here today? It struck her as very strange... Markha tried to ignore it but it wouldn't stay out of her mind. Finally, as she and Fireclaw turned into their street, she managed to push the thought out of her mind, approaching the house just past the corner. Quickly, she unlocked it with a silver key, and stepped inside, looking back at Fireclaw. "Can you stay in the backyard tonight--" But she was interrupted by Fireclaw, who was looking up at the dark indigo clouds.

"Looks like rain -- thunderstorm, perhaps," she replied, her ears twitching.

"I was only joking," Markha assured, smiling, and let Fireclaw in. Not many people would allow a Pokémon seven and a half feet tall into their house.

Markha woke up early next morning, and quickly ran out to check the mail, as she did every morning. Being a "costumed hero" meant a lot of letters. There was some junk, but one note caught her eye, and she curiously began reading it.

-Buzzsaw"

Markha's eyes widened slightly as she thought. This could have to do with the emptiness of the street that they had patrolled last night! Better safe than sorry, when it came to this... but what if it was a trap....? So what? It was too big of a risk. The question was, how would they get on top of the Silph building?

Markha shrugged, rushing into the house to get Fireclaw. Quickly, Markha shoved the letter in the Kangaskhan's face. The huge Pokémon looked stunned for a moment, before her eyes narrowed and her ears twitched. "Kangaskhan." By her tone, Markha could tell this meant, "We could give it a try."

Immediately, Markha let herself be covered by the Link-Suit, suddenly dashing out of the door with Fireclaw flanking her. They were going to be patrolling around there anyway, and after a bit of a breakfast, they could go until midnight. Just to be safe. And maybe spend the later hours of the day actually getting up there.

(OOC: Darksong, the City is Orchard, not Saffron. I jsut picked Silph because it's a large company)

Rune and Scyther were at the top of the building. They could see the terror across the city from here. Sirens blaring, bursts of fire from random streets, toxic clouds spreading across neighbourhoods. Rune hoped they wouldn't been too long. If it took the heroes more than 30 minutes to arrive, he would leave and go try to protect the Link-Suit of Former.

"Buzzsaw, how did you even get permission to use this building?"
"I saved them from a bomb threat once, while you were recovering from the bullet-wound. Called in the favour."
"I see. So now we wait?"
"Wait..and pray that we're not alone."

After the failed call to her friend, Serena waited until nightfall to change into her alter ego. She ties her hair up in two partial buns on either side of her head, and fastens her half mask onto her face. She then activated her link-suit and transformed into the hero Moon.

"Let's go Ming. You remember the place we are going?"

"Yes. I can teleport us there in-"

There was a quick flash of light, both figures disappear from her apratment and appeared on the top of the building.

"- a flash"

Ming smirks as her partner and crosses her arms. Moon just sighs and strightens herself out and starts to look around a bit.

"Hmm...he should be easy to find"

Jake had been helping out Kay in terms of scouting the city much of the previous night. Then came morning, however, and he lay in bed, sound asleep, well after the sun rose. Kali was also rather tired, and could be seen laying next to him on the bed, with her legs and tail curled up around him, although she rested on top of the covers while he was under them. Kali's wings acted like an extra set of blankets as well, and while she was cold blooded herself, she did act like another layer of insulation from the cool outside air in his room, keeping Jake warm and toasty. It was a rather cute scene, really, and Jake seemed to appreciate the fact Kay allowed him to sleep in a while.

It wasn't until just around 6pm that Jake finally began to stir, groaning softly and pushing himself up and out from the covers... "Oh, I must have overslept... what time is it...?" He glanced at the little clock next to his bed, and gasped. "What, 6pm already? Get up, Kali, we have a job to do, you know?" The Flygon next to him whimpered and remained still... if she was allowed to, she could have slept all day. But Jake instead began to shake at his pet and partner, near the shoulders. "Kali.. wake up already!" She finally lifted her head and opened her eyes, reaching down then to lick him on the cheek. Jake giggled a bit. "All right... all right... let's go see what Kay wants then. And maybe get some food..."

Jake picked up his link suit and headed down toward the kitchen, with Kali following close behind. But he soon discovered that Kay was nowhere to be found. And he soon found out another detail, with the newspaper left on the table, showing the insert about the midnight meeting. "I guess I'm supposed to go there? Kay's sure to be there if she doesn't return first."

Xaldin activated his link-Suit, donned his mask, and put on his standard black cloak. Then he leaped from his apartment window and flew on his Charizard to the top of the Silph Building a few minutes before midnight. Upon arrival, he used his Charizard to use smokescreen and jumped and landed in the smoke.

"I am here. Now what is it you want?"

"Come on out, Hunger," Ciel said quietly, as she tossed the shiny Swellow's Pokeball into the alley. She herself had already put on the link-suit and her costume, though tonight wasn't going to be a stealing night. The shiny Swellow formed from the red light of the Pokeball, and nodded to her Trainer.

"Should I go see, go see how many are already there?" Of course, Hunger knew what was going on. Hunger always knew what was going on. Ciel nodded, and the Swellow took off easily, heading for the Silph Building. She circled low around it, looking up, away from Ciel's sight, and the girl turned away to think. Was this really a good idea? She wouldn't be able to make a living after this, as easily. But no, she had to find out what she was up against..

Hunger landed with a quiet thump beside her, causing Ciel to jump a bit. "There's not many people and Pokemon there yet," she cawed, folding her wings. "We shouldn't go yet, until there's a bit more people. So we can blend in with the crowds." Ciel looked at her partner in amazement.

"You haven't been learning this stuff from me," she said incredulously. "One of us is smarter than the other, it seems."

Rune looked towards those who had arrived. One with a half-moon shaped mask, the other with two huge swords.
"What I want is simple. To warn you both, and to tell you what Former is after. If more come, wonderful, if not...well, I hope we're enough for this. Former's Link-suit is being held at the Central Police Station. It's under the best protection it can be given. Unfortunatly, I doubt it's enough. Former's been using his connections to steal link-suits and give them to low-level criminals, then set them loose in the city, hoping the chaos will distract us from the attempts to steal the suit. I'm asking for help in defending the suit. Because if Former gets it back, he won't stop until he's leveled this city."

Moon fixed her gloves and smiles as best she could with half her face covered. She walks over to the edge of the building and looked down, the wind at that height blowing her hair to the side. She crosses her arms and glances over her shoulder that Buxxsaw.

So this was the great and mighty Buzzsaw. Not a bad looker...he'd do good in my comic as a guest appearence.

Careful Careful. He might try to figure out who you really are.[/I]

Moon rolls her eye and looks over at her partner.

"Mind your own...mind. Thoughts, at times, should be heard onyl by the one thinking."

"True. But then where's the fun in that?"

Ming crosses her amrs and smirks at her human partner, motioning to the pouch hidden by the dress.

"Going to let them out...Halan would do good with his Aura scans."

"Hm..Good point."

Moon takes out a ball and releases her trusted friend Halan. A dark blue shapes forms, long blues ears and pale blue eyes greet Moon on the buildings top. He looks around a bit, then glances over to Ming and relays a message.

"He's wondering where we are. I've infomred him what is going down. He'll await for your signal to start the scan."

"Good."

Sid activated his Link-Suit, hiding behind a Dumpster. The gray matter spread across his clothes, becoming varying shades of grey and black. It peaked in a fez-like hat, out of which protruded a mirrored visor with a bright yellow reticle moving back and forth on the front.

The Spectre activated his hover-boots and floated eerily for a moment, before zooming out above the rooftops, Spook close behind. The matching pair soon found the Silph Building, and, switching on the infrared filter on his visor, landed softly on the rooftop, looking over his new company with an appraising look.

So, that's Buzzsaw, eh? I thought he'd be taller...

Sid smirked under his visor. There seemed to be a few other 'heroes' here, and one had a crecent-moon mask. Flashy, but cool. He should get something like it.

((Oh, yes. Silph just reminds me of Saffron. :P))

Suddenly, there was an odd "boom" from the roof of a nearby building, and Markha and Fireclaw emerged from the top. They glanced around, looking for a gathering of people that might signal that others had attended the warning. Of course, there was also the possibility of no one heeding the warning. Still, better safe than sorry.

The Kangaskhan, Fireclaw, suddenly pointed to the east. "There they are."

Nodding, Markha approached, leaping onto the roof with the best agility possible. Fireclaw quickly followed, but landed a bit short, having to grasp the side of the roof before pulling herself up. "Did we miss anything important?" she asked, looking around. The Kangaskhan didn't see anyone without a Link-Suit, so all of them must have been able to understand her. The person who had just stopped speaking had a Scyther near him, but as she turned to Markha, the human was still gazing intently, and Fireclaw guessed that she didn't know them either. The Kangaskhan shrugged, then looked forward at the man next to the Scyther, slightly embarrassed at their loud entrance. And she could see that Markha was being rather self-conscious as well.
