Kali the Flygon
Devourer of Sandshrews
Kali laid herself sprawled out lengthwise on a sofa, as the TV began to turn on, and Jake sat down right in front of her on the ground, leaning back against the sofa. He was all sweaty and out of breath from the training session, but Kali acted as if she was over it already. She rested a paw on Jake's shoulder, which made him glance back to see her.
"Huh?"
Kali didn't reply, though. Instead, she just smiled, rolling onto her side so that she faced him and the TV. The sofa itself was big, but it wasn't meant to be a Flygon's bed, and even though Kali's head was resting on the armrest on one side, her snout facing the TV and her antennae laying just off the side of the sofa, her tail dangled all the way off the other side, drooping down to the ground and partly lying flat against that.
Jake just gave a bit of a chuckle and leaned his head back against the Flygon's tummy, lifting an arm back to pet against her smooth, plush scales. His link-suit laid in a glowing green ball in front of him, swirling with light and dark green colors with a pinch of light red. He was finally starting to calm down from the earlier exertions.., But then her heard something on the TV that just made him freeze up.
"Today, Mr. Jacob Former, was released on early parole. His trial for countless murders and acts of terror across the city was noted by the disappearance of any witness who attempted to testify. Mr. Former's identity was revealed to the public by the costumed hero known as Buzzcut."
The statement brought back memories, of when his own parents were killed by another early-releasee and his gang. Just being forced to relive those moments brought tears to his eyes. "Why would they let such a guy go so early?" he asked, in almost a desperate voice, standing up and picking up his suit with him. But as he began to approach Kay,he began to wonder, But why does that name sound so familiar...? Kali watched them head toward the door, then slinked off the sofa herself, walking up to them on all fours, her wings folded along her back.
As Jake stood beside Kay, walking for the doorway, he suddenly remembered. "Oh yeah, that's right! I remember, it was a big thing...Jacob Former... he was my parents' first high-profile at the new firm... No wonder he's out so early, my parents managed to drop the first degree murder charges, so he'd only end up with lesser charges. They were the best attorneys ever... So it's only been 4 years then? Well, at least one good thing happened because of the trial... I met you."
