We're about thirty-six strong, and the demand for additional entries has not ever disappointed. I'll have a tonnel of cleanup to do, but we are rolling.
 
Pardon my butting in, but unless I'm missing someone, does it even really affect that much? None of them had finished or won a battle, or even started one in two cases. So you just have two new late bracket #1 entries, one of the banned players has already been replaced for other reasons, and the remaining three battles in question simply have the other person autowin...? I mean, unless you really want them to be able to finish, but iirc they're all at least two or three rounds in anyway; it's not like when res quit before commands had even been issued.
 
Alright, full report for what exactly are the consequences of the bans in the tournament:

-Two slots for the late bracket are open. Get'em while they're hot.
-The Omskivar, ultraviolet and Coloursfall win their matches and advance to the next round; I'll be posting on each match later with the adequate prizes, if the actual referee tasked with any of those battles doesn't beat me to any (I don't recall off the top of my head if any of them have any chance to do so).
-I'll be personally handling the two matches wherein the referee was banned.

And that'll be it.

Really, guys. We don't know all the circumstances involved; the only people that really know what's going on are the mods. Zhorken even said she'd provide more specifics later, and for all we know some of the bans might not even stand!

Let's say some evidence suddenly emerges that ends up clearing someone's name. What then?

That's why I propose suspending the tournament after the first round until everything is 100% settled.

If that happens, a) it's probably going to take ages; b) if it takes a sufficiently low amount of ages, there might be late bracket entries open; c) even if the banned members can't be reentered, it's not the end of the world if someone's gotten DQ'd. That happens to people over far less than being banned.

It's really hardly worth it to withhold the entire tournament over just a fraction of participants being in an uncertain situation, and doubly so when we consider that it's been difficult enough to keep tournaments on schedule in the past without this kind of mess interfering. It's just not that much of a big deal as far as the tournament goes.
 
And heh, with the full irony of saying this immediately after that post, Crazy Linoone has been reentered in the late bracket, which means we are now closed for entries again. Just glad I didn't have to put her on the next late bracket instead, as I'd previously anticipated I'd have to.
 
So, all round one matches have been completed. That means we can move on to the second round, although before we do, the tournament will take a short break. This will take no longer than a week, and possibly less. Once it's up, I'll publish the details of the next round's matches, as well as the pairings; then, the participants will be given time to make preparations, adjust their active squads, and so on forth.

Also, starting with the next round, we will be taking volunteer referees in for the tournament matches. If you'd like to get in on the tournament fun that way, just post here, and preferrably mention an estimate of how many battles you'd be willing to take on.
