Most Overrated/Underrated Games Ever

Despite it being my favourite game, I think that The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is overrated. Majora's Mask deserves more attention since I think it's better (I think it's better, but I like OoT more).

It also annoys me how it's most people's favourite Zelda game.

wat? Gorgeous? That's a bit of an overstatement buddy. I mean sure, Modern Warfare doesn't look bad, but it really isn't anything special. I'm not sure if you have a 360 or PS3, but have you seen Uncharted 2, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy XIII, and Heavy Rain. Much better, in terms of graphics...

And while CoD is a good game, it still is very overrated. The hype over that game in unbelievable.

I have neither. And it's not really relevant how much better other games' graphics are in comparison, it's about how good the game's graphics are imo. The setting in Modern Warfare 2 is pretty damn nice-looking. You really cant call it 'boring' unless you haven't played the game.

*shrug* I don't think a game is overrated if it deserves the hype it gets personally.

I've played Halo at a friend's house, where the match up was hardly fair, since it was one hardcore gamer against two negligent players and a total noob (me). But I found it boring after the first few minutes. In my opinion, it's overrated, but that might be because I haven't had the chance to play it for long on my own.

I agree that Zelda OoT is overrated and MM is underrated, though it doesn't stop both from being absolutely brilliant games that I still play today. <3 Zeldaaaa~

My friends and brother all adore Halo and discuss it constantly. They also despise CoD and bash it almost constantly, in stark contrast to the rest of my school, who does precisely the opposite. Needless to say, I find the mention of these two games kind of irritating.

But I do play Halo with my friends a fair amount, and it is pretty fun! It takes like thirty hours of play before you can get to the point where you stop dying all the time, but once you get fairly skilled it's definitely an entertaining experience, if nothing else. I personally like Mario/Zelda/Pokémon far better, but Halo is alright too. :\

Underated:
Sonic Next Gen (obvious reasons)
Earthbound (people dont say its a bad game its just that it doesn't get enough recognition)

Personally I think most post-Genesis Sonic games are underrated. Sure none of them come close to Sonic 1, 2, 3 and Sonic&Knuckles, but they're really not as absolutely hideously bad as everyone makes out. (Funnily enough, I hated Secret Rings, which apparently most people considered the only good Sonic game in ages.)

EarthBound is brilliant but it took me a while to get into; I found the battles really dull to begin with.

Quick Man is basically a spastic asswipe that I can hardly even shoot. The fact that I had difficulty getting seven shots in on him should tell you something!

I had a lot of trouble with Quick Man. Until I realised whoever told me I should use Crash Bombs didn't know shit, switched to the arm cannon, and beat him on my first or second try :v

I'm just saying. Personally, I played both those games before CoD, and they out shined it in comparison. CoD is decent, but the graphics are little pixely and there are a few glitches throughout the game.

Yeah, but people obsess over this game. sure it's fun, but the hype it gets over multiplayer is just ridiculous.

Same. The Dreamcast Sonic games were great.

I have difficulty beating Sheep Man, guys. Take everything I say about bosses in Megaman with a grain of salt.

(Although I can't be the only person who thinks Blade is easier than Sheep...)

Blade Man's a joke. You can honestly have his pattern figured out in less than the first ten seconds of fighting him, and then beat him just as fast.

Yeah, he's pretty easy. Although I know I've seen people struggle with him on their first playthrough.

He's also easier to buster duel than Sheep Man because the fight with him goes pretty fast. And his weapon basically rapes everything.

Er...not much I can think of.

OVERRATED:
When LoZ: Phantom Hourglass came out, there was a lot of hype over it. When I got it, I played it, (and still do) but I really didn't sense the "moving storyline" one bit.
LoZ: Twilight Princess was brilliant. But it could have been better. And when it came out on Wii, that was pretty much all I heard from anybody.
MarioKart Wii kinda dissapointed. The reason I liked Mario Kart DS is because I could take it in my DS and connect to my friends at school. I couldn't do that with Pokémon (Well I could, but didn't feel like it.)

That's all

I wouldn't exactly call them overrated, since Twilight Princess has its share of haters and a not of MarioKart Double Dash fans (like me!) were pretty disappointed too.

Triple Blade is broken. Especially given what a nicely timed shot to Nitro Man can do.

Not sure if I have posted here or not, but War of the Monsters (PS2) is a severely underrated games. It's a sad case of critics loving it, but getting poor sales.

It was, essentially, a really fun fighting game, where you play as giant monsters who can and will destroy everything in their battles, all in the style of 50's monster flicks. If it had a PS3 sequel or online mode, I could see it really taking off, but alas, it's probably never comng back.

Also, Road Trip Adventure (PS2), despite being marketed obviously for kids, is a guilty pleasure, and it's pretty hilarious and fun too. (Yay for giant snale on monster truck wheels body!)

Front Mission 4. I've never heard anyone talk about this game and it was fantastic. It was like... giant mecha chess. But you took the mechas and upgraded them as you wanted, could enter secret codes to get new weapons, and actively affected the storyline with your decisions. At one point you even have to split your party into two groups and set them on separate paths. A real brain twister this as the groups don't regroup for quite a while (several battles and plot points away).

thisssss

while it's got NOTHING on Front Mission 3, or Front Mission Alternative, it's still an awesome game in its own right <3
