Closed Pokemon: A Shadowy Past

Zacharius looked around him. There were quite a few bodies of Grunts here. He sighed. Undoubtedly, Team Midnight would now know where they were. He turned to the other Shadow trainers.

"Are you all okay?" he asked.

"What is going on? Ive been out for quite sometime. Is there anything that needs to be done? Hurry and explain." he was restless and dizzy from the meds.

I continued to tunnel until I noticed something:

The ends of four objects were buried into the ground.

Poles. Those are poles. That msut mean...

I'd found it.

I grinned. "Now then, it's payback time."

I woke up and heard two people talking from within the room. "Great, people are in here, I can't escape yet." I thought. "Well, then. Two choices, first, turn myself in, or two, stay hidden and be as quiet as possible. Well, I am surprised no one found me yet. I guess it is a good hiding spot. Might as well listen to them.

Alison nodded. She held out Moon's pokeball and recalled him, hesitating for a moment. The shadow trainer had let her guard down and now she could move. Should she really let this opportunity pass, or try a surprise attack? Alison placed the pokeball back in her pocket and walked away, looking back once to wave. Why the hell was she this soft?

She took out a Pokeball and released a large, dragonic, dark blue bird with light grey, cumulus cloud-like wings, and two long ribbon-like antennae on the top of its head. Alison gaped in disbelief. When had Cirra evolved? When had she become a Shadow Pokemon?!

"T- take the injured grunts who can't move back to base. Wait for me at the entrance and try to stay hidden from idiot grunts and drunkards. I can walk from here," she stated, biting her bottom lip. The Altaria nodded and started lifting bodies onto its back before flying away. Alison continued walking in the same direction, trying to take her mind off of all that had happened. Commander Vendetta probably wouldn't be happy with the result of the mission.

"Because you've been out for a while I will forgive your insolence. But if you ever speak to your superior like that again, my darling Ribbons will send you flying through several more brick walls than it did Enigma's Metagross. UNDERSTOOD!?"
Vendetta's eyes were filled with blazing fury.

Before I could amke a move, i heard voices coming up from above.

"Anything?"

"Not yet, sir. They haven't contacted us for some time."

"Strange. It's been over an hour."

"Perhaps they forgot?"

"These aren't raw recruits, Captain. These Grunts are some of our best men. They know to contact us every hour. If they haven't, that can only mean..."

"They've been attacked, then?"

"There's no other explanation. It might have been some of those rebellious Shadow Trainers the Commanders were talking about."

Oh, it was, I thought, And you're next.

I attacked with Earthquake, sending a shockwave across the desert. Because the outpost was so close to my attack, it became devasstated more than any other section.

"What in the name of Arceus was that?"

"That wasn't natural. Sandstorms are in the desert, not Earquakes."

"A Shadow trainer, then?"

"Let's not jump to conclusions, Captain."

"But, sir, what other explanation could there be?"

I wonder how long I should let them bounce theories off each other, I thought, I should hurry if I want to finish them off.

Alison eventually reached the base. She recalled Cirra without looking in the Shadow Pokemon's direction and continued on. After a bit of wandering, Commander Vendetta was in sight, being as grumpy and "mighty" as usual. Alison got down on one knee as a term of respect to her superior, imagining the day when she would outrank him or be in a different squad.
"Commander Vendetta, sir. The mission was a failure, I'm afraid. The grunts under my command were easily defeated and we barely managed to escape," she reported.

"That doesn't make sense. You'd think two squadrons would be enough to handle anything Pyrite had to 'offer'."

Two?

Before anything more could be said, I burrowed up from the ground. "Evening, Gentlemen," i said.

"Who are you?" One of the Team Midnight members asked. From the way the grunts were positioned near him i'd say he was the leader.

"Me? How thoughtful of you to ask." I said, before I used a Dragon-Shadow Attack Hybrid to blast down three Grunts. "You people of team midnight would know me as 'Project Sandstorm'."

Recognition dawned on the Commander's face. "Y-you're-"

That was as far as he got before I killed him with another attack.

Wisp opened his mouth to talk back, but shut his mouth, nodded and bowed. "Forgive me for my disrespect. I understand. Im sorry."

Vendetta had been about to send Wisp on his way when Alison arrived. While Alison was one of his more promising Under-Commanders, she was ambitious and Vendetta knew she wanted the Admin position he'd been denied. An idea occured.
"I'm disappointed Alison. As you know I've always believed a Trainer can do anything they wish to accomplish as long as they are focused and are distracted by nothing but caring for their Pokémon. Perhaps I was wrong. In order to find out, I'm making Wisp the Co-Under-Commander of your squadron. Maybe together, both of you can fix this mess."

Two more grunts appraoched me, trying to bar me off from another attack.

They got about three steps before they got blasted down.

"Heh. It's been so long since I've fought a real battle, I've forgot how fun this was."

As another Group of Grunts bore down on me, I used Sandstorm to blind them before taking them down. "What, you may ask? SImple: Destroying Team Midnight."

Alison nodded, subtly biting her tongue. Dammit... the subordinate thought. She looked over to Wisp, not knowing much about the trainer. How much of a risk was she about to take?
"I hope so," she managed to say with a calm tone, "How long until the next mission, sir?"

"Hey, you're mission. Start planning to retrieve the escaped Shadow Trainers whenever you see fit. But if those Trainers cause anymore trouble...it'll be on your heads."
He walked away, almost eerily silent.

((I'm losing internet connection tomorrow because I'm moving so I won't be able to post for a while. Wait for Wisp for a bit cuz' it won't take too too long.))

I held my breath for a little while. Damn. They're going to find me eventually, why not sooner? I thought. I started to rise from behind the boxes. I accidentally hit one of the boxes. What am I doing? I thought, but it was too late.

Mia again dropped to her knees.

"What am I...?" she asked herself, staring at her hands. "Am I some sort of mutant freak like everyone who's ever known what happened to me thinks? Am I merely a failed experiment like the Midnights think? Am I simply a girl trapped in a nightmare? What am I...?" she shook her head sadly when Sheila tried to nuzzle her for comfort again.

"That's what I need to find out... What am I? Can I ever be restored? And just what did happen to my parents? To find that out, and to destroy Midnight's organization with my bare hands... That is my purpose in life..." Mia stood up again, taking her lone Poke Ball and recalling Sheila.

"It's time I figured out my destiny..."
