Open Rift in the Dimensions

"So, what is the species of this 'Kil'jaedan?'" Spire asked, "And what are the strengths and weaknesses of the species?"

Hopefully, it's not something that I haven't used yet. The Magmaul and Battlehammer are running low on energy, and I'd hate to run out of ammo in the middle of a firefight.

"I couldn't help hearing about something called a 'Burning Legion,'" Ravage noted, "What exactly is the Burning legion?"

((Gah, why do you guys have to finally get posting while I'm at school/doing homework? I guess it's my fault for having to get an education.))

Galacta Knight looked to Taunos and Geralt. "Eat?" he snapped, his tone filled with less disbelief and more impatience. "We must see this Kil'jaeden... now! Can you not save your little meal at least until we return to the Endless Plains?"

((Okay, I had better hurry up with the whole character development thing before someone kills Galacta Knight for being Galacta Knight. XP))

Vai sighed, and plopped down where she stood. It was over.. for now. The several potions and pills she had left were partially consumed, and she turned towards the others.

"A faerie dragon.. we had creatures similar to those in my world," Vai mumbled, and wiped the stuff off her daggers, with the grass. "None of the monsters could speak, however.." Getting up and moving towards Taunos and Geralt, and their small fire, she produced a small piece of dried meat, which she held over the fire.

"If you don't mind, sharing your fire," Vai asked, with a small grin. "If we're going off to a city place, probably filled with monsters and all, we probably won't have time to eat after we die. Or are severely injured."

EDIT: ^lolwut irony/ninjapost

((It's OK. I'm getting an education too, but my class schedule is quite the slacker schedule. =D))

"To answer your question bluntly, no.", Geralt told Galacta Knight, "Hmph, I suppose you can go see this Kil'jaeden now, though, since you don't seem particularly fatigued or hungry. If not, save your pretensions."

Taunos chuckled, "Now, now, I doubt his race functions like us.", Taunos calmly explained, "Actually, this is quite important. You may have noticed I have been casting spells left and right. Unfortunately, this does leave me drained of mana, so I must rest, as well as to avoid fatigue."

Taunos then turned to Spire to answer his question, "Thought you'd never ask. Kil'jaeden is an eredar, like other leaders in the Legion. A corrupted, demonic one, of course. That does make him immortal, but not quite invincible. Archimonde, another powerful demon eredar, was killed at Mt. Hyjal, but only when Malfurion, the great night elf druid, summoned thousands upon thousands of spirits from the surrounding forests, who clung to him and exploded, unleashing far too much disruptive energy for the demon to handle. So actually killing Kil'jaeden is out of the question. We could weaken him to a point where we could banish him, but that's quite the challenge. At the Sunwell, I was with 24 or so blood elves and Forsaken of various callings, but on our side was also the Blue dragonflight. And even then... Anveena sacrificed herself to weaken him. At that point, we could finally banish him."

"Dragonflight?", Geralt asked.

"Yes. Ah, Kalecgos, a blue dragon, had orbs from the blue dragonflight brought in.", Taunos recounted, "Once he empowered them, one of us would transform into a blue dragon for a short period of time. Though very limited in use, using the powers granted by the orbs, we could ward off Kil'jaeden's worst attacks."

"I have this feeling you're going to tell me we won't have any dragons helping us now.", Geralt grimly said.

"No, unfortunately.", Taunos replied, "I wish there was something or somebody helping us. To answer your question, Spire, they have no real weaknesses. Whereas Archimonde was a brutal destroyer, Kil'jaeden has unrivaled cunning and trickery to back up his immense magical prowess."

Logoth contiued to eat the meager meal. He listened to Taunos, he had only one idea.
" Maybe we can beat him at his own game. I guaruntee I can cause a distraction so that the rest of you can have a clear shot."
Logoth sugested.

I understood about half of that, Spire thought, and yet it almost reminds me of Helios.

"At any rate, since it has no weaknesses, as much as I hate to say it, one of our most viable options would be brute force," Ravage said, "As you said, if we can weaken the creature enough for you to seal it off."

"But how would that help us in fixing the rift?" Bonecrusher wondered, "Sure, we'd be banishing what is likely this dimension's version of Unicron, but unless it's connected to the rift, it won't help us."

"Killing a god basically? Lovely," Kuro replied. She paused. "I haven't introduced myself. I'm Kuro Akumu, Daughter of the Moon. And not-official Pokémon trainer. And you should know Sand here, apparently."

"Yeah," Sand replied. "Still, how are we going to weaken him enough? Unless there's a way of giving him a weakness, it'll be like punching a brick wall and expecting it to weaken."

Taunos and Geralt picked at the smoked fish.

"Brute force should," Taunos said, "nay, it will work, even Kil'jaeden's endurance is not unlimited. However, the problem lies in not getting killed or driven insane in the process. My totems cannot protect against shadow spells like those of demons. A distraction may help a lot, but we're going to have to go about it very carefully. Acting alone in there is most likely certain death."

And then remembering that someone new had joined their group, "Ah, and I am Taunos, a seer of the Runetotem tribe.", Taunos introduced himself to Kuro.

"I'm Geralt.", Geralt said after that, "Unfortunately, we do have to do this. If I recall correctly, we won't have a plane to exist as we are in if we don't."

Logoth made a small bow towards the newcomers but didnt' stand,
"Logoth, Captain of Hales. If we can draw him out our chances may improve?"
He suggested. He pulled out a Barbarian sized canteen and downed the whole thing.

((I FINALLY got my computer back, and I have IDEAS now! :D Anyway, shortpost to show I'm still alive and to announce that fact.))

"Killing a God by pounding him into submission..." Sonic mused, "Kinda reminds me of Solaris..."

Tails stared at Sonic, puzzled. "Who?"

Sonic scratched his head. As soon as he had remembered that name, he had immediately forgotten it. "I...have no idea, actually." Tails shrugged and sat down. Suddenly, he too remembered something...

"Hey, where did Chikorita and Torchic go?" He asked, standing up and looking around.

"Who?...Oh, the dinosaur and the chicken?" Sonic shrugged. "No idea."

Tails sat back down. Concern crossed his face as he wondered where they had wandered off to. As small as they were, they wouldn't last long on their own here...

((So yeah, I'll take back over after this arc. We're going to revisit Pokemon briefly because there was something I had forgotten to add...Hehehe...))

Geralt polished off the rest of the fish, then tossed the remaining bones aside.

"Well I suppose we should rest up tonight," Taunos suggested, "We've been at it all day, and I suppose you could say I'm not as young as I used to be, not that I like to admit it."

"Heh," Geralt cast his gaze in Galacta Knight's direction, "You think he's going to appreciate that?"

"Leave him be, Geralt.", Taunos said quietly, "I am not one to force a lone wolf into a pack."

((That was Kali's idea. >.>))

Logoth nodded in agreement,
"Let him whine. I bid you goodnight."
He said as he pulled out a long green blanket with smal pieces of fuzz and lint sticking out he layed down and was within several minutes out cold. Even though Barbarians were built for war they were well known for sleeping up to 16 hours after a days work.

Whine, Galacta Knight silently spat, I'll show them whining! I'll throw an absolute hissy-fit if they expect me to let them-- He cut himself off in mid-thought, trying to get a hold of himself. The ones that had spoke hadn't taken a hostile tone towards him; they had accepted that he was going to disagree with them. He paused for a moment before finally speaking.

"I suppose if we don't rest, it could lead to our failure later. I am willing to sacrifice some time for it." He laid his back on the cold, hard ground and wrapped himself in his wings, as though they were a feathery blanket. "Goodnight."

"We should also power down," Bonecrusher said, "And I'm going to shift in order to do so."

"Are you sure that's wise?" Ravage said, "If you're other form is seen by this dimension's inhabitants, who knows what could happen?"

"It's a risk I'm going to have to take," Bonecrusher retorted, "I'm far more vulnerable when I power down in my natural shape. "

"Suit yourself," Ravage said, and turned to Spire, "Are you going to power down?"

"Nah," Spire said, "When you're a bounty hunter and the last of your kind, you don't spend much time, 'powered down.'"

If Ravage could have shrugged, he would have, "In that case, we'll see you when we are back up."

On that note, he crouched down, and the glow in his eye faded, signifying that he was temporarily powered down. Bonecrusher, meanwhile, shifted back to his vehicle form, and powered himself down.

Finishing her meager meal, Vai glared around her at the others, and made herself a corner of space that seemed relatively warm enough. "Shouldn't one of use stay awake to keep watch," she asked skeptically. "I won't be able to sleep for a while anyways, so I wouldn't mind taking the first shift."

She looked over the odd assortment of beings in their little group. "Though it's understandable if monsters don't attack sleeping people here. I'll still stay awake." Vai hoped they caught the sarcasm in her last comment. She had been ignored for the past while, anyways..

"Well I suppose I'll be awake with you," Geralt told Vai, "I don't sleep... much, in any case. Probably another side effect of the mutations."

"Fair enough.", Taunos said, lying down on the ground.

"So... What are we doing after this?", Geralt asked.

"It's entirely possible banishing Kil'jaeden and unravelling any spells will push back the decay here.", Taunos guessed, "After that, I'm guessing we'll move onto the next world. I trust the inhabitants of Azeroth to be strong enough to fight this, especially after two invasions by the Burning Legion."

"I wonder if I can go back home after this.", Geralt pondered.

"We'll see.", Taunos answered with a yawn, "I don't know, I might be continuing on, despite this being my homeland, and I would love to stay and help, but this is certainly the experience of a lifetime. Anyway, good night..."

"You would-", Geralt was cut off when he realized that Taunos was fully asleep.

He turned to Vai, "You wouldn't happen to have any fat, grease, lard, or the like, would you? Or perhaps alchemical paste?"

"Alchemical paste? I'll check.." Turning to her ever full pockets, she emptied them out with a flourish. "When you're a thief living in a town of thieves you can either have really small, useful stuff, or own a dimensional pocket. Heheh." It seemed not, and Vai spread the various bits of junk out hopefully.

"Well, it doesn't seem so. Huh. Something I'm not carrying." She made a mental note to get rid of some of this stuff, some of these bits of trash looked vaguely worth something, and was that a bit of silver ore? Vai gathered all her stuff together and stuffed it back in her pockets and shrugged. "Uh, nope. Sorry."
((Like any good RPG, Maple Story pockets are retardedly huge. :P))

Sonic yawned and stretched, "Well, I guess a nap wouldn't be too bad of an idea. How about you, Tails?"

"I dunno, I'm not really very tired..." Tails replied. There was a lot on his mind, about why his machines had randomly quit working and generally about what the hell was going on.

Sonic shrugged, then sat down and nodded off. Tails sat down as well. He pulled a machine and some tools from his bag and began tinkering. Eventually, he too had succumbed to sleep, parts scattered around him.

"Tch, can't be helped, I suppose.", Geralt said in dissapointment.

He crossed his legs and assumed his usual meditative stance, reflecting on the day's experiences.

((The following morning...))

Normally, Taunos would've expected to take up to some of nature's sounds. However, it was dead quiet this morning, except for the stirring of some of his companions, and the crackling of the fire.

"Good morning.", Geralt said, gnawing at his last piece of bread.

Taunos slowly stood up and replied, "You really don't sleep, huh?"

"Not really.", Geralt answered quickly, "I suppose you'll be ready after a bit of stretching and such?"

"Well I would make a little something to eat," Taunos explained, "but we don't exactly have any ingredients, huh?"

Vai stood and stretched, grumbling something incomprehensible. She had just stayed up the entire night.. And nothing had happened. Well, interesting things couldn't happen every time she was up on guard duty. Reaching through her pockets, Vai found a bruised, rather old-looking apple, and made quick work of it with her daggers. Nothing to do until the others had all waken up, it seemed..
