Open Rift in the Dimensions

((WHAT EXO WAS ONLINE AND I MISSED IT HOW COULD MY STALKER-SKILLS FAIL ME))

((And you might fail again. As for the "have more characters" suggestion, I wouldn't mind either way, but the way I see it, giving more slots open would allow more people to add in characters they want, like how I would add in Teridax if given the chance))

((I DIIIIDN'T YAY Yes, but the point is that most of the members we already have aren't posting. I guess I'm indifferent on the idea itself (honestly the only reason I replied the way I did to Dragon was because of her in particular), but it doesn't help the cause Steafi brought up at all. How did the RSP get so popular? Hell, this is going to sound a right self-insert and that's because it is, but how did The Smash Dojo get so popular? Um, quite pathetically for the latter, I don't know the answer to either. But if anyone does...!))

Tails saw the felhound assaulting Taunos, and rushed in to help. As he flew, he charged his blaster, pulling back just before he reached the beast's face and firing point-blank into its face. He immediately darted back to the air.

Sonic continued his assault, but was caught off-guard as a felhound flipped around, smacking him with a tendril that seemingly came out of nowhere. He stumbled wildly, struggling to fight the inertia of his speed before finally skidding to a halt face-first. Without a second thought, Tails swooped down, grabbing Sonic's arm and putting full-force into his tails, lifting Sonic off the ground.

"Are you alright?" Tails asked. Sonic nodded. Tails smiled and handed him a small device, then dropped him. Sonic burst the device open and was surrounded by a blue forcefield. Rolling into a ball and revving against the ground, he shot forward and picked up where he had left off.

The felhound's face melted in from the blast. Smiling at Tails, Taunos got back to the task at hand. He ran towards where Logoth and Geralt were.

Aiming wild swings at the felhound around the two, Geralt tried his best to fend off any he could, but his injured foot made fighting in his style difficult.

Taunos stopped as some of the felhounds noticed his emanation of magical energy. They were swept aside by another magical force, however. The way clear, he aimed the point of his staff at Logoth and Geralt. A wave of yellow light shot out, hitting Geralt and bouncing off of him to strike Logoth as well.

A warmth embraced Geralt's injuries. Though it wasn't entirely painless, his foot hurt a lot less now. Wheeling towards one felhound, he stayed clear of the snapping jaws and brought a slash downward, just to the side of it's head, mostly silencing it.

The rest of the fighting died down. Series of explosions shredded most of the remaining felhounds. Bonecrusher and Sonic smashed the rest of them before quiet descended.

Valkyrie sighed and reached up to push hair out of her face, almost hitting Vai with the shield. "Damn it. Sorry.." With a flick of her wrist the two circles dissolved, and Vai stepped forward cautiously.

"Oh yeah, you get all the weapons that can do some serious damage, and I get.. daggers?"

"Yeah, but I have to make mine. What about you, have to kill a bunch of things for money so you can afford your pointy sticks?"

"They're metal!" Vai nudged her in the ribs. "Whatever, you can keep being a fag. Let's go over to the others and see what's next." She paused, noticing the almost complete silence. "Oh what the hell," she muttered, realizing everyone must have heard them.

"So," Spire said, after the last one was killed, "Were those simply random feral beasts, or were they being commanded by another being?"

"If it's the former, then we have nothing to fear," Ravage said, 'If it's the latter... I would hope that I could find out more about whatever it was that commanded them."

((AGAIN?! ;~; One of these days I'm going to get my revenge and go on an insufferably long vacation too))

Galacta Knight let himself fall and hit the ground with a thud. The four remaining Knights gathered around him again.

"Well?" He turned to face Taunos. "That magma creature has a point. Do you have any idea why they just showed up?"

Logoth did the same a Geralt and when the magic hit him he felt almost no different but he was warm. The last of the hounds were being mopped up so He wiped his sword and returned it to his sheith.
"If these things are being controlled then we are probably outnumbered terribly."

"There's almost always a higher demon commanding felhounds, unfortunately," Taunos answered, "Probably a pit lord. A fearsome opponent, but possibly still on the other side, not in our world yet. Of course, that means it'd be prudent to hurry, I don't think anybody else is hurt, are they?"

"I'm fine now," Geralt answered.

"What does it take to kill a pit lord?"
Logoth asked while he removed his helmet. His face was flushed red and his huge blood vessels were pumping.

Sonic suddenly felt a shooting pain in his leg. During the attack he had barely noticed it, but now that he was standing still...he faltered a bit and stumbled over himself, clutching his leg.

"Sonic!" Tails yelped a bit as he rushed to his friend's aid. He reached into his pack and pulled out a small red and white machine. Pressing a button, he placed it near Sonic...but it didn't move.

"What the...Why isn't it working?!" Tails grabbed the machine, inspecting it intently, but it remained motionless.

"Tails, really, it's nothing..." Sonic said, trying to pull himself up, "I probably just strained it when one of those monsters tripped me up...Damn..." With a grunt, Sonic finally got back on his feet. He was limping slightly, but still mobile. "See? Just fine." Sonic said, concealing a grimace.

Tails blushed at his obvious overreaction, but now something else was worrying him. His first aid device lay motionless.

Bonecrusher fired a small welding beam from his arm to repair a few slashes on his chassis. Upon seeing the conversation between the blue and yellow felshling, and hearing of the blue on being wounded, he signaled Ravage.

"I feel as if we should help that creature. Though we have been helpful in terms of combat, members of a neutral faction such as ourselves should-"

"I'm going to stop you right there, because you and I both know that there is no realistic way for our technology to heal organic beings. The welding laser would kill him, and I'm not going to begin the subject of the various wrenches and magnetic devices we have."

"Well, there must be something we can do. I feel as if we've been nothing but dead weight outside of battle."

"Even if that is true, it doesn't matter," Ravage said, "There will be a time when we can offer our services to these beings. Count on it."

Taunos watched as Tails pulled out another one of his mechanical devices. It was a red and white one, but it didn't seem to do anything when he pressed the button. Taunos then fished around his bag for one last healing potion, a small lesser one.

"It's nice to see machines can't quite do everything," he mused, "I don't know how much it'll help, but I know a goblin that fixed up contraptions like those."

He held out the small vial containing the red potion towards Sonic, "It's my last, and I doubt I can make more until the world heals, but do take it. You're quite helpless without your speed, aren't you?"

Geralt looked around inside his own bag, and produced the last bottle of very old wine that man in The Hairy Bear told him to fetch.

He took a nip, and then held it out to Logoth, "Wine?", he offered, not quite liking to drink alone.

Logoth smiled. He pulled out a small metal canteen and unscrewed the lid. He offered Geralt some of the thick black beer.
"It's Karoline Ale."
In reality it was closer to whiskey but it was 97 % alcohol.

As Sonic was reaching for the potion, the red and white machine sparked, fizzled a bit, and sprung to life. A small red light flared at the top as it sped over to Sonic. A small mechanical arm jutted from it, grabbing his leg and wrapping a small bandage around it. Even though there was no open wound, somehow this made Sonic's leg feel much better. He shrugged off the weird logic.

"I wouldn't have needed the potion anyway..." Sonic said, scoffing a bit at Taunos's observation, true though it was, "It was just a little sprain. If it's your last you should probably save it for something more serious."

Tails was getting very worried now. Why had it taken his medic-bot so long to respond? And why did it spark so much when it did come alive? He bent over to examine the bot and saw that it was smoking a bit. Waiting for it to cool, he eventually put it back into his bag. When there was more time, he would try to repair it. He certainly didn't like where this was going...

"That was strange," Ravage said, "What do you think caused that machine to power down before rebooting? Did it have some kind of power surge and overload?"

"If it's the properties of this world, one has to wonder why it hasn't happened to us. We are, after all, far more advanced versions of these medic bots."

"Ah, modesty," Ravage said, "And they wonder why you stay silent."

"Look, all I'm saying is that being more advanced could give us an edge if whatever happened to that bot happens to us."

Geralt accepted the drink and downed it, though not all of it, that would be rude. He sniffed as he handed the canteen back to Logoth

"Interesting.", Geralt remarked, "It looks like a beer, even tastes sort of like one. Except I'm sure this is a lot stronger. I'm willing to bet I could even make a potion out of this. Heh, it's certainly not beer by human standards."

"It is a lot stronger." Logoth agreed while downing the rest of it.
"What you just drank is equal to... 4 bottles of beer I believe. Best stuff in Hales." Logoth pulled out another canteen.
"You can make your potoin from this one."
