THIS IS HOW WE BLEED
In the great World Sea, under the choppy surface, dwell a massive variety of mythical creatures mankind has never seen...
Merpeople, Giant Sharks, Sea Dragons, and hundreds more, populate the deep, dark waters with their varied and beautiful forms. One of the rarest and most fragile of these is the tiny Seahorse. Unlike their more animal-like counterparts, the quiet Seahorses are a race of Merpeople-like creatures, but with a seahorses' tail in place of legs.
Seahorses are generally small and frail, but with training, they can be powerful warriors. The tail of a Seahorse is thick and strong, with bright skin and a contrasting section near the hip-area. Each has a stripe the same colour as their tail-skins somewhere on their body, which has an unknown purpose. Seahorses have long, flexible torsos, and strong arms, tipped with thin hands with three webbed fingers and a thumb. Their hair is usualy a similar shade as their tail.
There are very few known Seahorse cities, all of which are enclosed in a massive stone wall stretching even to the surface of the sea, with only one way in and one way out. Caves are carved into the thick walls, which the Seahorses inhabit. They usually only leave to find food and supplies, and to give birth. Seahorse babies must be born on land, and it's a long and dangerous journey to get there, and many females don't survive the trip. Because of the high death rate of breeding females, the males of this species have evolved to be able to bear their own children.
Seahorse culture is very rich, filled with legends and stories passed on from the Elders to the young ones by word-of-mouth. Children are raised in a close-bonded community, knowing almost everyone in their city. The favoured weapons of warriors are spears, but other weapons are sometimes used.
One of the most told stories passed down if on an Ancient Spring located in a dry underwater cave somewhere in the sea, said to provide the Water of Eternal Life. This is much more than a legend... The Spring exists, and the water it gives is powerful. There are very few that know it's location, and they are the Elders of the good species of the sea. Merpeople, Seahorses, Sea Dragons, Selkies, and Hippocampi each have an elder with this knowledge...
The secret of the Spring is needed now, as the beautiful young Princess of the Merpeople was kidnapped buy the 'Monster Sharks', giant sharks with clawed forelimbs that hate all other sea life. They demand a ransom of the Spring's water for her return. The Merpeople have asked the others for help, and the Elders have assembled a ragtag group to save her.

Name: Dagan
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Seahorse
Appearance: Dagan is small, even for a Seahorse, and very pale. His tail is a deep Maroon, with a teal marking around his hips. His hair is a similar teal as his markings and very long. His stripe is maroon and over his belly. His eyes are blue. He's obviously pregnant, but not too far along.
Personality: Dagan is friendly and sociable, quickly becoming attached to people who are nice to him. He dislikes physical combat, relying more on his wits and magical ability. He gets very frightened and panicky when faced with large amounts of blood, sometimes fainting.
History: Dagan was found abandoned in the reeds near the largest Seahorse city by the Elder, and taken in by the man and raised as his own. The little boy was quickly accepted by the others, and developed a close friendship with a older boy named Morgan. When he reached the age of 16, he and Morgan had their 'Mating Ceremony', which is the Seahorse equivalent of marriage. Shortly after, when Dagan was only a few months pregnant, Morgan was killed in front of Dagan's eyes by a Monster Shark, but he managed to escape back into the city walls. That gave him his fear of blood, and he became even more friendly to others as a way of coping with his loss. He was chosen due to his powerful magic skills.
Other: Dagan can use magic very well, and his favorite means of battle is heating water around the target to boiling temperatures.
