Open Sinnoh Folk Story 2

A lot of people were just staring. Why were they staring at him? Flint racked his brain for an answer. All he got was a brief memory about how people would talk behind his back and say stuff about him. Something like psycho or crayony? ... CRAZY! That's the word! But Flint didn't care. After all what the heck do they have to do with him?

It turned out that the girl with the bag didn't have any mooncakes. She didn't even have anything to eat! Just some pink fluffy thing fell out and she sorta reddened. What's so bad about some blanket thingy? Maybe he should ask if there were mooncakes inside her bag but she ate them? He would talk to her later because Ms. Cresselia's other kid person student thing wasn't looking to happy. He had went over to him and whispered something like "Don't got food in the way." What the heck is that supposed to mean?

"You're name is Ven? Hi! I'm Flint! Sorry about the whole kicking you thing. Just a little hungry after my trip. You say we forget about it and start over?"

Cool? She blinked bewilderedly as she merely listened to him speak, looking down at the pink bit poking out of her bag still. How... how... how could he think that was cool? Nonetheless, she said nothing in reply to him, merely managing one of her little nervous nods back in response.

Her eyes flickered fully to the speaker's face for the first time as he said he was going to show her his pelt and she saw that he was smiling. For some reason, this unnerved her, so instead she turned her attention to the metallic armor-like pelt in his arms.

"Oooh... yours is... really cool." Her dark eyes gazed at it through her spectacles with a sort of awe, admiring its sleek sheen. And the guy with one of the cooler Pokemon thought that hers was cool? Naw, he was probably just being... nice. He seemed like one of those nice guys, the social types who talked to like everyone. Once more, she made a guilty motion to her own pelt, making another attempt to stuff it fully back into the bag and failing yet again.

"Seems they are all here, with the arrival of the final person Uxie. They seem a little energetic, and some a little arrogant for the mission. I do hope they try to get along long enough to complete the task at hand."

"You are always the buzz kill Mewtwo. Just smile and laugh things away silly!"

"Mew...you know this is serious. We need to have them work together and under her leadership. If they don't listen, we may all be doomed."

"I may know that, but they can still have fun while going out to save the world! Who knows, maybe some will make life long friends~"

Mewtwo sighed and glanced at the rock, watching his silent and still student. A flicker of sad emotion enters and leaves his eyes, tilting his chin up. The figure on the rock nods and stands before the group, drawing her hood down.

Long black hair spills over her shoulder in a loose low pony, her pale blue eyes gazing down at the humans before her. She shifts her stance, a sudden wind blowing through the trees and catching her cloak to reveal the orange and black pelt draped over her body under the cloak.

"I am Shana Moon, student of Mewtwo, and the carrier of the Arcanine pelt. We have all been trained to fight for this world, to restore it to it's once shiny glory of life and health. With your help, we can achieve a stronger link to the world and pokemon. To those that feel they are strong enough to do this mission alone, you will need to toss that silly pride aside. You are now a team member under my leadership...those that act as hotshots will only cause the downfall of this mission. To those that feel weak and foolish of their pelts...do not fear, for we are a team that must back each other in these times. Do not hate the pokemon you were given, for these are the pokemon that are best suited for us."

Shana then lifts her arms, hands open to the other students before her.

"Lend me your strength in this battle for a better future. We must swiftly complete this before the clock strikes the final hour. Come if you be friends, and lend me your ears, your minds, your hearts and spirit. Our journey begins soon...at the permission of leave from our noble and wise teachers."

Mew watches at Shana makes her speech, floating over to Mewtwo and resting on his head.

"...She is definitely your student alright. You already have her speaking like you, you old fool."

((Sorry, but the Pixies are sisters. That's how they are played here love.))

He decided that if people were showing of pelts then he was going to join in,
"Well while I personally think we should do something other than standing around chatting. If we are showing off pelts then,"
he took out his pelt from a small bag he had been carrying on his shoulder, held it for a few seconds and changed into a gligar with a burst of light,
"This is mine and I am going to see if I can see anything more interesting."
With that he shot up into the sky feeling the wind ruching passed his form and wondering what he looked like from below and knowing that he was unlikely to find anything more interesting than six legendaries and eight people they had taught to change into pokémon. He chopped the leaves off some trees as he circled through the air watching them fall, he then went and hovered over the clearing.

((Uxie is just pretending to be a girl.))

Fer smirked. The Arcanine girl was such a... drama queen, he supposed. Really melodramatic and a bit of downer. And one of the other students had just suddenly turned into a Gligar and zoomed off.

Yep, everyone else was insane. Except maybe Flaaffy-girl. Hmm, Flaaffy-girl was a weird way to refer to her, he should ask her name.

"So, what's your name?" Fer asked quietly, so as not to be rude to the Arcanine girl with the dramatic flair. He flipped his sandy hair out of his eyes and blinked. "No, wait, lemme guess: "Baa-bs?" He made the first part of the name sound like a Mareep bleating.

Arylett raised her eyebrow somewhat at some of the words that the girl who had spoken had said. Really? Best suited? She almost felt insulted. A sheep was not what she had wanted to be! She wanted to be something cool! Something perhaps... canine. And that was easy for Speech Girl to say! She had an Arcanine pelt, which was, the epitome of cool in Arylett's opinion. With a small smile, she imagined what this girl would say if she had a Caterpie pelt and giggled silently.

But then... something else just hit her. Arylett pursed her lips as her face went into a thoughtful grimace. So this was it, huh? The whole world depended on her. On her becoming... an ugly pink sheep thing. That sure was a lot of pressure... she wasn't so sure she wanted to do-

No, don't think about that anymore.

And with reluctance, she wretched her face instead in the direction of the boy who had spoken to her once again, but was careful to avoid looking into his eyes. Fer, it was.

For a moment, she blinked at his bad joke, not sure how to react. But then decided to play it straight.

"No," She said dully. "My name's... um... Arylett."

Jude looked down at the Flaafy pelt, not really bothered. Arylett was a girl, so a cute pink sheep-thing would be perfect for her, right? But, look at him! The others probably thought he was queer hanging around two pink Pokemon while he was a freaking Butterfly.

"Oh my Giratina, that was such an epic speech! I will lend you my.. uh... all of that stuff," the butterfly-boy said, not being sarcastic, after the 'student of Mewtwo' concluded her speech.

"Can I go next?" The teenager asked Mesprite, wanting to get his humiliating introduction over with after this Shana girl.

"Quickly. You should all leave soon."

Mespirit nods to her student, glancing at Shana whom had started to climb down from the rock and stand near her teacher. She lowered her head and smiled a little at the emotions she felt from the two. Mewtwo on the other hand leaned to his student and started to converse with her on the mission at hand, telling her the closest one they could find from this spot. Shana nodded and strolled toward the opening of the pathway, pulling her cloak closer to her body as a chilled wind swept through the trees.

"Celebi it is then...Once you all catch your bearings, we leave for the first of many we must aid. For those that do not know, we will be visiting the sick and wounded legends that control the aspects of this world. We will need all the strength we can muster in this mission...hopefully we don't come across a problem with the legends that our pokemon types can't handle...we don't need a weakness of type in this quest."

The teachers all look at one another, a saddened look on their faces. They turns to their students and address them directly as one.

"Listen closely to her...after you are ready, you have out permission to leave. Let us do our own job while you go out to finish this mission. We wish you all luck. You hold all our hopes for you, young ones. We know you can do this."

"No," She said dully. "My name's... um... Arylett."

"Arylett?" Fer intoned, an eyebrow raised above his shaggy hair. It seemed almost as if he was going to mock the name before he continued. "That really cool. I mean, look at me, I'm Fer, I sound like a dog or som-..."

Fer fell silent when Arcanine girl (I should really learn her name...) began speaking, a bit less melodramatic than before. And then something about type weaknesses (We didn't choose the types) and then the Legendaries said to listen to her and wished them luck. Well, if they said so, they should.

The shaggy-headed boy turned to Arylett (such a cool name) and looked at her to continue the conversation, disregarding the interruption entirely.

She blinked and did not answer him, pretending to mess with a latch on her bag as an excuse now not to look at him. Conversations weren't really a big thing of hers. Or at least, with those she barely knew. Always so damned awkward.

Luckily, the Speechy Chick interrupted him, and gave her another excuse not to look at him. But she didn't really help things either, giving her something else to be nervous about. She wondered if her type was good enough to deal with most Legendaries and about whether or not she was suitable for what she had hyped up as such an important job. Well... the others were crazy. They probably seemed less suitable than her.

Her eyes darted over to Mesprit momentarily as the teachers spoke. Well... she always knew this moment would come. Just don't think about it, it'll be okay.

She bit her lip as she felt his eyes on her again. Well, it was time to say something, she guessed.

"Ah well... it's not a bad name, I guess. Are you ready to go?"

"Well, I'm not unready, I suppose. Any preparing I might have needed to do can't really be done in the middle of a forest, I guess..."

Why was she not looking at him? Was she shy? Did he have something on his face? Did she have something on her face?

Fer scratched his scraggly beard self-consciously for a moment, but it passed quickly and he was back to the incessant questions in his head. Was he prepared? Fer had packed everything that he thought he might need, but perhaps it could be reordered... No, it would just make a mess and scatter his things everywhere. He thought about putting his cloak on, but realized that the metal feathers would do little to keep him warm.

"Are you ready, Arylett?" Fer asked, shouldering his burlap satchel and fingering the wooden, interwoven circular pendant on his neck.

"I guess," she said with a smidge of apprehensiveness. "As ready as I'll ever be."

The fact that her pelt was partially sticking out of her bag also gave her another excuse not to look at him. She made rather a show of this, as she reorganized a few things in the bag so that the fluffy pelt would once again fit into it. Once done, she closed it and once again found herself with nothing to do. With reluctance, she looked into his face, but did not quite meet his eyes.

"Guess it'll be... fun, huh?" Her attempts to make conversation were so weak.

"Yes, I suppose, although I don't look forward to fighting Legendaries, even if they are weakened or something like that..." Fer trailed off, lost a bit in thought. He didn't doubt the masters for a moment, especially since they had Uxie on the team, Sprite of Wisdom and all that.

He felt a lull in the talking and quickly, almost subconsciously filled it with chatter. "Flying is rather fun, you know. It's hard to remember which way to turn you tail and such, though, and being covered in metal doesn't help," Fer babbled.

"What about you, what's it like to control lightning?"

Arylett nodded in response, yawning a bit. It had suddenly dawned on her how tired she was. Why did she have to stay up late at outrageously late times? She hoped that they wouldn't have to fight or do anything big today, her mind didn't really seem up to thinking at the moment.

"Probably not as fun as flying." And she scoffed. It seemed like he was bragging a bit about his cool form. Maaan, why'd she have to get gypped like that? Of all the things... well, there was comfort in the fact that it wasn't Magikarp. "It just feels sort of hot, really... makes me sweat a lot. Like... you're releasing all of this... energy from inside of you. It's sort of painful." And yet she had to admit to herself quietly, it felt bizarrely liberating. Though she would never express this aloud.

Jude stepped up to the plate.

"I am Mr. Judah Cox, please don't make fun of my last name and please called me Jude. I am, unforunately, a very girly butterfly." He held up the Beautifly pelt, showing off the wings. "Laugh at me and I kill you!" He said sarcastically with a cheesy smile before backing away to his teacher again.

A soft rustling sound shook the clearing around the gathered people and Pokemon, and a sense of bewilderment wafted through the area. It was as if someone was hopelessly lost and didn't know what in the world he or she was doing. As a matter of fact, she was hardly human herself. Well, honestly, she had only adorned that ruby necklace in lieu of her sapphire one because she wanted to camouflage. It would only help, though, because it caused her to gain the appearance of a dainty Pokemon called Kirlia. The feeling of bewilderment turned to stress as she doubted herself more and more.

Have I taken the wrong path? Grace Elicia thought to herself, wondering if there was anyone around. But then, near a thick tree, she stopped; she could feel the emotions of others around her. Seriousness, confusion, and a hint of humor tinted the forested area nearby, and Grace knew that she had found the right place. There was no reason, other than this one, for so many different mystical energies to be collected in such a small area. Cautiously, she unlatched the delicate necklace around her neck, lifting her mint green hair out of the way. Her shape grew larger until it was that of a female teenager, with light brown eyes replacing the scarlet ones she had previously. The sensation around her got weaker until she could just barely sense it, within the ability of a human. And that was when the others all came into her sight.

Many Psychic-types were gathered in the clearing, along with a few other people. It seemed to make Grace a bit happier that there were others; she probably wouldn't feel motivated if she had been alone. But the fact that there were other people already here at this gathering meant...

"Am I late?" she asked meekly.

"Well, I hope it doesn't hurt too badly. Y'know, Pichu can't release electricity wi–..."

Am I late?

Yesss Fer wasn't the last one to arrive! How nice.

"...thout causing damage to themselves." The newest addition to the group was rather thin, as were her clothes. "C'mon, Arylett, let's go say hi!" Feratu grabbed her by the wrist gently and pulled in the general direction of the girl before releasing Arylett, walking quickly on his own to greet her. He waved to the Cox boy on his way.

He looked at the girl, eyes flitting over her necklace, and began talking. "Yeah, you're kinda behind schedule. I'm Fer, glad to have you in the group. So, where's your pelt?" Feratu shifted his shoulders, making his Skarmory pelt rustle and clink together.

As an afterthought, the silver-brown-headed teenager continued:

"And she-" he pointed at his shy companion. "-is Arylett." Fer was consciously breaking the ice for her; he realized that Arylett was shy, even if he didn't act like it.

"...Pelt?" Grace asked hesitantly. "What do you mean? I don't have one." A big grin suddenly grew on her face as joy bubbled up inside her, and she immediately introduced herself. "I'm Grace," she said, hopping around a little bit. "Pleased to meet you, Arylett and Fer." She quickly placed the delicate ruby necklace in her pocket and instead took out the normal sapphire one that she wore casually. Her eyes darted around, and she continued, "Who is everyone else?" But her eyes rested on a gray Pokemon that was about six and a half feet tall, who was skulking in the middle of the clearing. Is that... Mewtwo? Suddenly, she was calmed, and didn't seem so energetic.

Grace cautiously took a step towards him and ducked her head; she wasn't sure whether to bow or curtsy since she was wearing normal sweat pants. But she didn't say anything. For some reason, she felt too timid to do so. Cautiously, she took a step back, looking at Mewtwo but trying not to make direct eye contact.

Mewtwo looked at the girl, hiding his small smile by bowing his head slightly. He glances over to Shana, who also had been watching the girl when she arrived, a playful look of mild interest on her face as well.

"We've been waiting...I was starting to believe my other students would have bowed out of this. I do hope you understand the danger you will be entering now, Grace. But do not fret too much...Your fellow student Shana here will take care of all of you."

Mewtwo then leans down to the girl, a faint purple glow around his hand as he uses a soft psychic push to lift the girl's chin.

"You do remember her, yes? If not, you'll know her soon enough. Now, introduce yourself and be ready to leave. If others arrive, We'll send them after you...meaning, we'll uses a bit of our powers to teleport them to all of you."

"This is going to be so amazing! All these little humans together and helping us fix this world! I'm so so soooooo proud of all of you, every last one one of you darlings!"

"....Yes Mew. We are all proud. Now simmer down."

As per usual, Arylett allowed herself to be dragged about. She didn't mind, really, if they weren't meeting some stranger. Strangers weren't really much in her fancy, talking to them and such. She just sort of stood in the background, quietly and awkwardly, merely nodding in acknowledgement to the rather thin girl when she said her name.

One thing of her caught her interest though, and that was the rather ravishing sapphire necklace upon her neck. Subconsciously, she touched her own golden necklace and then the very minuscule ruby at the end of it, her thoughts dwelling on a brief thought...

And then one of the other teachers spoke. She sat up alertly and focused her full attention on them. It seemed that something was finally going to happen.
