Open Sinnoh Folk Story 2

Grace's eyes lit up as Mewtwo began to introduce her to someone. Shana...? Mewtwo was wondering if Grace knew the girl from before. Obviously, Grace didn't, but she would probably get to know Shana. The Kirlia girl looked back over to Arylett, who was softly fingering her own golden necklace. So she had one, too? Maybe this person had also gotten it from a close friend. But Grace couldn't be sure.

The teenager quickly set her minds back to Mewtwo's instructions to introduce herself. Grace was glad that there were lots of other people, but since they were all new to her, she was a bit shy. "Uh... hello, everyone. I'm Grace..." Her voice was hesitant and slowly got softer, but she didn't show any other obvious signs of unease. She merely waited for any of the psychic Pokemon's next instruction, noticing that tension was slowly getting through to the crowd.

((Sorry for latejoinz. Also, I didn't quite get the plot, so my images are of literal Pokémorphs. Oops. I'll change that, moony. Just remember in normality they have reddish-brown hair and in Pokémonity Espio has darker paws and Eclipse has dark gray instead of black.))

Espio and Eclipse were running through the forest.

I already know we're late, Ka- er, Eclipse; I can sense activity.
Great, Ni- er, Espio. God, I'm going to have to get used to our adopted names. Anyways, we're late, and probably the last to arrive. Eclipse checked her sash bag for her Pelt, as Espio made sure his jewel was still in his pocket. The leaves crunched quickly around them; they didn't care how much noise they made.

I'd teleport if I knew where it was. Espio telepathed.
Wait. Eclipse and Espio stopped. They could hear talking. They walked into the clearing just as Espio's teacher, Mewtwo, was saying something to the entire group. Espio and Eclipse proceeded to blush as the eyes of the legendaries were turned on them.

((Well, I needed it to sound dramatic. Hope you don't mind the little temporary character control there, moony, but it needed to happen :sweatdrop:))

Jude waved back, almost awkwardly to the boy dragging Arylett away to the newcoming girl. Figuring there was nothing else better to do, he started to run off after his fellow student under Mesprite and the boy before skidding to a halt when the two blushing students appeared.
"Jynx looynx, why are there so many late people?" The Beatifly-boy exhaled exaggeratedly, stopping in the middle of the clearing.

It looked like there was already a somewhat large group waiting in the forest clearing. Misquer grinned mischievously to himself. He wasn't planning on attacking them, although he did like to make a big entrance sometimes. Now was not one of those times, though; he didn't want to be punished by his teacher. So maybe he just had to go in and wait normally like the rest of them. He didn't want to wear his Parasect hat (otherwise no one would really know he was there), so he held it at shoulder level as he strode into the clearing, albeit silently.

Misquer nodded towards Mew in a greeting fashion and took a seat on top of a rather large rock that had been colored a depressing brownish-gray by the dying earth. Misquer wasn't inclined to start a conversation with anyone, so he decided to remain silent for the time being -- and he had to listen to the Psychic-types, or he would most likely be punished even if it didn't include a showy entrance.

Espio looked over at the man with the Parasect hat; apparently they weren't the only late ones. Espio sighed, the first "real" noise he'd made in a long time. He looked over at Eclipse; she seemed to have stopped blushing too.
Well, it seems we're not the latest, as I had thought. Eclipse thought.
Good thing, too. Espio telepathed back.

Arylett watched several more newcomers enter the proceedings; the two mousy haired siblings (huh, loud footsteps), then flicked over to the Parasect guy (he didn't seem too talkative, did he? At least she wasn't the only socially inept one) who sat on a rock. Hmm... well, Parasect was kinda lame, but she didn't know what those siblings were... hopefully nothing cool.

Then she found herself mirroring the thoughts of Beautifly boy as she looked down at her watch impatiently... no leaving yet. How long would this take? It felt as if they'd been there for hours, she wasn't quite sure. Her mind was probably exaggerating, but still.

Even if she felt she wasn't quite up for the task, a secret unvoiced desire to assume her Pokemon form was lingering. She almost ached to put on that pelt again. But no, no, no! No, it was stupid, no. She was just anxious... yes, that's it. All it was was simple anxiety over the difficulty of what was to happen ahead of them that wanted some action.

...She needed to stop thinking.

So without looking at him, she addressed the Beautifly boy in a quiet, almost dull whisper-like sort of deal: "Yeah, I know. Don't you just... want something to happen already?"

Espio clenched the jewel in his pocket, so nervous he almost accidentally transformed.
Hello. Espio telepathed to Mewtwo. As you can see, we have arrived.
"Hi, Mew." Eclipse barely whispered.

Jude turned to Arylett.
"Yeah, hopefully the teachers dismiss us or something before anyone else comes," he murmured, noticing yet another student wander into the clearing while holding what appeared to be a mushroom top.
"Mushrooms taste funny," he said louder, saying first thing that came to mind that might start a better conversation with Arylett. If they had the same teacher then they might as well get to know each other or become friends.

Ura looked around the clearing at the others, all of whom seemed to begin getting accquainted with the others. She picked out a relatively small group, a boy and a girl, who seemed very shy. Walking over, she said, "Uh... hi. Who are you?"

She adjusted her jacket slightly, a little anxious to be off on their quest.

((That would be Jude and Arylett, by the way.))

"I know! I just wanna leave already..." She chuckled awkwardly, feeling a bit less stupid than she usually did whenever she opened her mouth around people she didn't know well. A conversation... well, it was better than nothing, she supposed. "And do they really...? I've never had any mushrooms... so I wouldn't..."

Arylett trailed off, as she heard another voice speak. Some tall skinny chick had approached them. Hmm... by the looks of her, she couldn't really tell what Pokemon she turned into... but her appearance seemed a bit... casual and unassuming. She probably didn't really turn into anything all that great.

"Oh... I'm um... Arylett."

Cresselia lifts herself off the ground, floating to the centre of the clearing and clearing her throat. The other teachers all nod toward the new comers before gathering where Cresselia. The teachers spoke in whisper for a long while, before finally parting and looking to the students.

"You all have come. We are thankful for that...but now you must all go. Shana, if you'd please."

Shana nods and turns to the pathway, pulling the cloak tighter around herself. She clears her throat.

"We are leave. Now."

With that, She marches down the pathway, cloak billowing behind her in the wind.

(...guys. We are now leaving, follow suit)

Fer glanced up from his thoughts, and felt relief flood through his legs as he began walking; for some reason, standing still tended to put more strain on him than moving, both physically and mentally.

He snorted as the girl announced their departure. She was really trying very hard to be the leader, and the Legendaries were only helping her along in that endeavor. Fer didn't mind following others' lead, but he preferred it if their orders weren't so snappy.

We are leaving. Now. he thought mockingly. So much emphasis on the now part, it was downright rude.

He sighed resignedly, wishing his cloak of metal feathers wasn't so cold and
uncomfortable; it was better when the feathers were a part of you. Fer fell in step a respectable distance from the Arcanine girl and wondered about the new boy's mushroom cap. It was cool.

Well! That was a bit abrupt. Arylett almost felt annoyed... she was in the middle of an awkward conversation and some equally awkward girl had just talked to her! Ah well, at least they were finally leaving...

Her dark eyes gazed into the distance. She could feel her pelt inside of her bag, weighing it down... but she didn't want to use it, of course not. It was ridiculous, pink, froo-froo, and sheep.

So she walked after Miss Abrupt and Fer, motioning for the Casual Chick and the Beautifly Boy to follow her.

"Finally," Joe said, coming to after falling half asleep bored.
He checked his pelt was securely attached and walked quickly to the edge of the clearing, as he walked he wondered why the speaker had felt the need to emphasize the "now" if she's in charge she shouldn't get impatient.

Grace was absentminded towards the conversation that was going around, but as soon as the legendary Pokemon were starting to talk, she turned her full attention to them. Their speech was brief, however; all the information that Grace had gotten from their instructions was that they were going to leave. She turned with interest as one person began heading towards a tree's shadow, and almost seemed to disappear in it. Even though Grace was a bit creeped out, she was glad that there were other people around, and waited for a few of them to proceed before following them herself.

The teachers watch as the students leave behind Shana. Few wear small smiles on their faces, while others kept the mask of indifference till the end. As the humans proceeded through the trees, away from the World's Heart, the Teachers all turn to each other with heavy hearts.

"...It's time to start our works. We'll need to pool our strengths to help keep a balance on this collapsing world...least they aren't swift enough to save the ones that keep the balance."

"Agreed...I do hope the little dears are able to succeed."

"I'm sure they will Mew. Now let's get to work."

The teachers then glow, their forms changing in the bright light to that one humans. They then joined their hands, cloaked in the colors of their true form, and start to chant softly under their breath. In the center of the ring, their powers start to collect and shape into the image of the earth.

--------------------------

Shana turned her gaze back to the road ahead, checking on the ones following behind for a moment, and let out a relieved breath. She lifts her hands and watches as the shaking stops.

She was excited and twitchy from the mission at hand.

She shakes her head a bit, pulling the cloak tighter around her as the cold wind tears through the trees like icy daggers.

"I may have sounded short with you...but we don't have much time until...well, we'll worry about that later. Our first target is Celebi, the guardian over the world's forests...we are actually standing in the very forest where they reside. The best thing we can do is study the trees...the older the tress get, the closer we are to Celebi."

Shana then places a hand on a tree, feeling the bark give way from softness and rot. A look of pained sadness reaches her blue eyes.

"...The forest is dying. We must hurry before everything here breaks apart."

A mood of somberness hung over Grace as she followed Shana carefully. If the trees got older, Celebi was closer... easy enough to tell. Old trees were usually larger than young ones. She tried not to step on any roots, as if they were people's feet and they would lash up at her if she did. Caution lined her steps as she followed behind Shana almost silently; ominous air shrouded her and forbade to her to disturb the forest with noise. Her eyes scanned the trunks of the trees, looking for signs of age.

They were definitely getting older, and a mystical feeling began to waft among the foliage. Maybe it was just her, since she could turn into a sensitive Psychic-type. But if others felt it, and she knew that, she would probably get excited.

Ura quickly caught up to the girl, Arylett, ignoring the abruptness of their departure. "I'm Ura," she said, unsure of what to say next. She walked quietly for a few moments, before the older woman checked back. Ura listened to her in silence, then thought over what she had said.

How am I supposed to know how old a tree is? Ask? I only know about tree rings, but I can't just cut them down...

"We must hurry before everything here breaks apart."

The trees were appallingly weak-looking, even the old oaks that Fer favored they were good for roosting and whatnot. This thought sparked a half-idea in his brain, and the information sped past his brain and straight to his mouth.

"Maybe some of us should transform if we need to go faster? I'm a lot faster as a Skarmory and the mighty Arcanine is fabled for its speed," the last part of Fer's statement was only slightly sarcastic, hardly noticeable. He shook the hair out of his eyes and adjusted his metal-feathered pelt.

"I for one can go faster as a Skarmory," he said, quieter this time.

Shana stops and glances back at the young boy. She scanned him carefully, then smiled as if he was the student in class that actually got something right.

"You can fly up above the trees. You should bring a psychic with you so they can contact us of what you see. With that, we can determine where the older trees are with ease. Very nice work, Fer."

She then glanced ahead of herself at the trees, seeing a few have started to lose their leaves and colour. She shakes her head a bit, a soft sigh in her throat.

"...and it would be unwise to speed off with no direction. Getting lost in here...is very likely. Others that can fly should join him up in the sky. Scan what you can."
