Look, sprites! Now I just need one more battle. Which means I need a ref to take one of my battles, I guess. All in good time.

Chibbit is, in esscence, a small, white rabbit. It has long fur covering its body, but shorter hair on its head and legs, as a real rabbit would. Its fur is pure white, but it has light blue paws and a light blue patch on its forehead. The insides of its ears and its nose are dark blue. Its eyes are light blue but darker than its paws. When it opens its mouth, it has tiny fangs inside.

Pokédex Data:

  • It has up to eight babies at once and, unusual for a Pokémon, gives birth to live young. It is fiercely protective of its young.
  • The thick coating of fur provides it with excellent thermal insulation. Depsite living in arctic regions, it is as warm as a Torchic to hug.

Notes: OMG SOCUTE. But it doesn't stay that way for long, oh no siree. Also, it has a gender ratio of 1/4 Female, 3/4 Male, not like it's important here where people choose for themselves.

Arcowlf is a wolf. It has short white fur, which is longer at its ankles and knees. It has a light blue patch on its forehead and a light blue muzzle. It has dull grey eyes. It has a small, dark blue oval gemstone in the centre of its forehead, the same color as the insides of its ears and its nose. Its paws are light blue but darker than its forehead / muzzle. It has larger fangs than its pre-evolved form.

Pokédex Data:

  • It preys on its pre-evolved form Chibbit, among other small Pokémon. It will not, however, eat its own young, which are born live as opposed to hatching from eggs.
  • It has become very rare in recent years, since being hunted near to extinction by native americans who believed that slaying it gave one its bravery and fierceness.
  • Ancient tribes believed that on an aurora on the night of the full moon, it came to cleanse the earth. It is said that its fangs are good luck charms.

Notes: Told you it wouldn't stay cute. It has a gender ratio of 1/4 Female, 3/4 Male, not like it's important here where people choose for themselves. Its name is pronounced 'Arr-coo-wlff'. Also MUST MINIMIZE RESEMBLANCE TO NINETALES.

Icearor is a polar bear. It has medium-length fur. Its muzzle and forehead are light blue, and it also has light blue patches on its shoulder (?) joints. Its paws are light blue but darker than the other blue parts. Its claws are dark blue, darker than its nose. It has red eyes and a dark blue nose, gem in the center of its forehead and insides of its ears. Its claws and fangs are somewhat exaggerated.

Pokédex Data:

  • Where its fur looks white, this is not the case. Its fur is actually hollow and colorless, and it traps air which very effectively keeps it warm.
  • As the earth warms up slowly, the ice which comprises its home is melting, and it is on the verge of becoming extinct. It is only found in the Arctic.
  • It silently stalks towards its prey and then pounces, loosing an earth-shattering roar. The prey - usually species such as Spheal, Piplup or Seel - has no means of defence. It then gets away before the parent Walrein, Dewgong or Empoleon arrive.
  • By balancing its massive weight carefully, it can stand on its hind legs for long enough to attack. It finds this somewhat difficult, however, and so only does so when necessary.

Notes: It has a gender ratio of 1/4 Female, 3/4 Male, not like it's important here where people choose for themselves. Its name is pronounced 'Ick-ee-are-orr'.

....Ok. Where in your world does a Bunny turn into a wolf, than a polar bear? Becuase here in reality, that doesn't happen. Not even in pokemon that I can recall.

Avalanche also seems to be a little powerful for a little baby bunny. More so if its a first stage of a three part chain.

...and why does the last form know Surf and Dive. I know its a polar bear but still...

Well, I wasn't exactly helping with the ghost infestation, so let me clear the air a little in here~ ...or... make it misty and impossible to see, as it may be. Fire and Ice both need some love.... together? It's more likely than you think!

Rarity: R8

Physical Description: Picture (Mahn Kittankat is credit to team <333 )
frizard.gif
iaza19530910948400.gif

Frizard appears as small reptilian forms appearing to be made of pure ice. They are semi-transparent with no visible organs with the possible exception of a 'stomach' of boiling magma. This magma vein travels both to an opening on their snout (their 'mouth') and a vent on the back of their head. They constantly produce magma, causing the vent to always produce a misty smog. When angry, their magma production increases, causing the mist of shroud them. Frizard eyes are a powerful, glowing red which give off a lot of heat on their own. Although solid, the patterns on them are always shifting, making it look as if they're made of lava themselves.
Frizard generally have extremely slender bodies, with icy barbs along their back and tail, and a long, thin, curling tail. Their legs are long and powerful, and they have large feet which they are able to use to scale walls and ceilings by melting and re-freezing water under their toes to the surface itself as they walk. Their head is generally oval-shaped, and they sport a crest of icy spines along either side. They can repair damage to themselves by absorbing water to their 'skin' and freezing it over, and outside of battle they always keep their bodies pristine and clear.

Pokédex Data: Frizard are found in the deepest of underground caves, generally near lava flows, feeding on Obsidian which they form themselves. They are solitary and usually live in small holes carved in the walls, which are coated in the same unmelting ice they are formed from and significantly cooled. These holes are usually veiled behind pockets of mist, as the cooled air collides with the heated subterranean environment they inhabit.

Frizard, although seemingly made completely of ice, behave much like the reptiles they are shaped after. They consume Obsidian as a food source (Although it is suggested this is not necessary for their survival), bask in cold, ice-coated dens, and even shed their 'skin' periodically. Shards of this discarded skin are coveted as a key component of Nevermeltice.

Notes: Can scale and stand on walls and ceilings.

Feurisdesche are similar to their far smaller pre-evolution in that they appear to be created of solid, semi-transparent ice. Their legs are now far thicker and more powerful, and feet much larger, with gigantic three-toed claws. Their body is still slender for their relative size, however their back has split open, revealing a vein of pure magma along their backs, with large spikes lining the opening. Their heads become slightly longer and develop a snout and have a full crest of spikes, as well as a larger 'mouth'. Their tail has also uncurled and is now long and straight, with spikes tipping the end alongside a magma vent. They retain the inner magma vein, which is now visible running along the inside of their entire body, and excess lava will drain from their tail.
Feurisdesche retain their heated, moving red orbs as eyes, as well as their pre-evo's abilities to repair itself and scale walls.

Pokédex Data: Feurisdesche represent the epitome of collision of the elements, their own bodies extremely volatile and in constant conflict of hot and cold. They have an inherent hissing sound as their bodies are shrouding with mist from the meeting of lava and ice. It is said hearing this hissing from the mountaintops marks the end of winter.

Feurisdesche are fiercely territorial and solitary, and often take up gigantic volcanic caverns all to themselves as their homes. Their large, ice coated caves are almost always filled with so much mist is is impossible to see, and any intruders who make their way into this abyss are greeted by vastly unstable temperatures. They will chase away intruders with a barrage of both fire and ice.

Notes: Can scale and stand on walls and ceilings.

How a Ice and Fire can be in one pokemon, I don;t know, but if you can have Grass/Ice I guess anything is possible. I do wonder about weather ball, but I'm not too clear if that's a strike against you.

Approved by my books, mate.

As far as I can see, I don't see much to pick at

Shinies’ leaves are a copper color, and their body is yellow rather than light green.

Pokédex Data: CATERLET are occasionally spotted hiding in trees, eating leaves in order to store energy for evolution. It is considered a form of good luck to found one.

It scales trees and walls using sticky bladders on the ends of its four hind feet. CATERLET are said to have developed their striped pattern to blend in with the shadows of the trees in which it lives.

Chrysaleaf appears as, as the name says, a chrysalis. At the top is an insect-like head with light green skin sporting a leaf on top, with two antennae coming out underneath that. Just below its head is a bunch more leaves, from under which come a pair of spindly black arms. Its body is a large lavender flower bud. Out of the back of its head sprouts a vine, which serves to hold it upright. The shiny form, like its prevolution, swaps light green skin for yellow and green leaves for copper, but Chrysaleaf’s shiny also has a pinkish-purple body rather than a lavender one.

Pokédex Data: It has a tendency to remain still in order to store the energy it needs to develop. A CHRYSALEAF only peers its head out of its leaves if it senses that it is in danger.

CHRYSALEAF uses the vines on the back of its head to hold on to trees and keep itself standing upright. A pleasant aroma wafts from its body.

Violarch are a slender-looking butterfly species, with light green skin on the head and thorax, and a lavender flower bud for the abdomen. It has a large set of flower petal-like butterfly wings at its back in deep violet, with yellow patterns on the inside and lilac-colored markings at the tips. Its thorax is covered by leaves; big ones in the middle, and at is shoulders, little ones. Long black arms come from under the little leaves. It also has a leaf on its head with antennae coming out from under, much like its prevolution, however Violarch’s is smaller. The top of its abdomen is also surrounded by leaves. Yet again, the shiny has yellowish skin and copper leaves rather than light green and darker green, respectively, and also keeps the pinkish-purple bud color of Chrysaleaf, however the pink color also extends to the lavender bits on its wings.

Pokédex Data: It is considered very bad luck to remove the wings of a VIOLARCH, enough so that it is believed that doing so will also curse anyone who is close to the offender. VIOLARCH sustain themselves by sipping the nectar from flowers.

In some cultures, VIOLARCH’s wings are considered a literal living work of art. The patterns on its wings vary by climate and terrain, and the more vivid the color, the more likely they are to attract a mate.

Notes: Still needs party sprites.

I have to say, this is beautiful dear. I personally don;t see anything wrong here soooo.

Approved.

....Ok. Where in your world does a Bunny turn into a wolf, than a polar bear? Becuase here in reality, that doesn't happen. Not even in pokemon that I can recall.

Arctic rabbit -> Arctic wolf -> Polar bear. Perhaps a little stretch, but it seems no less likely to me than, say, Remoraid -> Octillery or Carvanha -> Sharpedo. I believe we went through this already, like two pages back.

I didn't realise I was in a seperate world to you. You learn something new every day.

EDIT:
Just wondering if the list of registry spriters is up to date?

Nah, it's not. Negrek said she'll add me to it. Don't know if there's anyone else, but yeah.

Remoraid and Octillery are both based on artillery with fish disguises; sharks and piranhas aren't too similar but they're close enough.

The only thing the three animals you've named have in common is that they're mammals that live near the poles. Going by your logic, you could also have penguins and seals in the evolution line.

Well, they're also white and fluffy and mammals. Like I said, we've gone over this already, two pages back.

(Sharks and piranhas live in completely different waters, actually - piranhas are freshwater fish and sharks are saltwater.)

Wouldn't it be more logical to base the plausibilty of the evolutionary line on the fakes themselves rather than what they are based on?

I mean, you'd have to be a bit willing to accept things that wouldn't quite work out in real life when you're dealing with a series where octopuses can be taught to spit fire by placing a disk on their heads.

I think my problem is with the middle stage; rabbit -> polar bear I can sort of understand, but wolf -> polar bear is... eh.

Wolf -> polar bear makes even more sense than rabbit -> polar bear, being as they're both predacious animals.

(@Pentimento: but those aren't Sharpedo! D:)

Okay. This is getting ridiculous. I realize this is not a debate thread and it's quite annoying that we're all insisting on arguing this, but I must point out these few things.

There is no point to these pokemon. They have no theme other than 'generic ice pokemon'. This is why it isn't convincing; remoraid-octillery have a theme that connects them, the sniper gun. Carvanha-sharpedo have a theme; scary as shit animals that will eat you at the tiniest hint of blood, plus their general design looks similar. Your pokemon have nothing of the sort. Their only theme is 'look we come from the arctic! We're totally not just animals that evolve into each other!'

Speaking of, your designs are lackluster. That is to say, pokemon designs are often simple, but when a pokemon has three forms the last one is usually at least somewhat awesome looking. Yours just look like the species they're based on with some ice diamonds stuck on them. This is another reason they're not convincing. Pokemon tend to be more than just animals drawn in cartoon styles. They're completely different to the things they're based on. If it's based on a piranha, it will not look exactly like a piranha because then why even bother? Just go out and get yourself a pet piranha. The point is to design something unique.

If your species looked different than actual hares, wolves and bears, it would make more sense that they evolved into each other. But they don't. So you're trying to convince us that a hare evolves into a wolf which evolves into a bear - not that a pokemon evolves into a pokemon evolves into a pokemon - for no reason other than that they live in the same general vicinity and have white fur. Well. No.

From this point forward I'm just going to infract non-approvers who feel the need to give their opinions on fakemon submissions. I'd be happy enough to just not have fakemon at all if it's going to be such a drama-fest to put them through the approval process.

Squornshellous Beta

I already said the moves and stats were all right the last time you ran these through (hint hint you guys, if one of the staff members already gave something an okay then your assistance is probably not needed, thank you)--I don't have a problem with avalanche on the basic stage since it's still an ice-type. Yes, it is generally restricted to evolved forms, but only for off-type pokémon: low-stage ground-types can still learn earthquake, for example. And icearor is really a more logical user of surf/dive than some of the nonsense out there that gets those. Meh. If it really bothers moony, though, you could probably stand to lose one of the two.

I'll go ahead and tentatively approve them, but unifying the designs and adding a hair more interest to them really wouldn't hurt--I suggest you try tweaking them a bit before another approver comes around again. For example, couldn't you at least choose another frigid-climate carnivore for the first stage, like a fox or an ermine? Or give them all a bit more in common than just blue patches?

As ice and fire would seem a little too illogical existing in one pokémon, I'd like to see a bit more of an explanation as to how frizard and feurisdesche don't melt themselves.

A larger problem is magma storm on feurisdesche's moveset. Legendary signature moves aren't allowed. Replace it with something, and preferably with something a lot less powerful/useful considering the number of really good moves feurisdesche already gets. Losing solarbeam wouldn't hurt, either, but if you absolutely must have it then I can live with it being there.

Zora of Termina

I'd like to see violarch share at least one more level-up move with its previous forms than it does, but aside from that they look fine. Just need party sprites, as you said.

Uh.. in Frizard's description, it notes how its shed skin is a possible component of Nevermeltice.. It's the same stuff Regice is meant to be made of, and at least one of its dex entries states it can be dipped in lava and not melt. :T What.. exactly can I do to expand that? Nevermeltice is a canon material, and even so a lot of the moves it gets are a nod to how volatile the combination is (ie. Explosion), so it's not so much a 'it just doesn't' thing.

Also.... sigh. :v I never understood why 'exclusives' are so cut off. They've been expanded before; I mean, they even gave unique abilities out in the Dream World now, the most prominent being Drizzle and Drought. Magma Storm made a lot of sense to me, again, due to the volatility of the combination, not to mention Feurisdesche's pure size and special power orientation. I think Negrek said that with enough reason, they could be passed rare moves, but sigh.. I suppose I could change it if I need to.
Magma Storm is also somewhat... novelty. It's only 70 accuracy (75 come B/W, but not a huge difference) and has the same power as Fire Blast. The trapping.. well, barely makes a difference, the damage is minimal.. unless ASB pumps it up, but I thought it was roughly on par with the likes of Wrap or Fire Spin still.
...Also, it would let us destroy cities with magma tornadoes without having to rely on lucky metronome matches.

*sigh* TCoD ate the forum notification of my last post, apparently, and then this thread died again. :V Typical. Welp, double post for great justice, because it looks like I'm competing with Kratos for fakecount, teehee~

Atomole are small, quadrupedal mammals, typically coloured in powerful and distinct yellows and purples. They appear very hunched, small legs tucked close to the ground and large pink nose angled downwards to survey the ground, while their back have two distinguished spines sticking upwards. Although they are blind and almost never open their large, clenched eyes, their noses contain over 25,000 sensory receptors, granting them extremely particular senses. Their bodies usually quiver as they skitter about erratically, as their body discharges the prodigious amounts of energy produced by the fission reactions taking place within their bodies. They eat constantly to maintain such energy, and are most commonly found burrowing in waste dumps. Being highly radioactive, great care is requiring when handling them.

Pokédex Data: Atomole eat constantly to support the massive amounts of energy their bodies produce, they are most commonly found in waste dumps, standing out against the drab rubbish with their brightly coloured fur and glowing energy field discharge which always surrounds them. They have near limitless energy at their disposal, and under normal circumstances never have a need to sleep.

Atomole have the strange property of producing prodigious amounts of radiation through strange fission reactions within their bodies, during which their body is rapidly mutating to prepare for evolution. They eat nearly anything, and are immune to the adverse effects of other radioactive materials, causing them to often be released in power plant dumping grounds to consume the toxic waste which accrues.

Notes: Despite the 'Dex entry, no, they are not by default immune to sleep - keeping in mind 'under normal circumstances'.

Now evolved, Nolsare show much calmer demeanours than their younger forms - their energy use has evened out, causing their eating habits to fade as a result Their bodies have mutated into a slightly larger imp-like figure, including a set of wings and larger ears, giving them whimsical personalities. Although their wings are functional, Nolsare are able to hover without their aid using electromagnetic pulses to repel themselves from the ground - and though they no longer consume massive amounts of food, their bodies continue to put out incredible energy. They are still surrounded by an energy field, radiating from their bodies, and their radioactive charge remains. They most commonly hover with their backs to the ground, hunching inwards and ears pointing skyward, always wary.

Pokédex Data: Nolsare rarely exert more energy than they need to, preferring to preserve it now that they have lifted off the ground. When threatened, they release incredible electrical impulses, granting their adaptable mutated bodies bursts of strength, discharging dangerous levels of electricity, or even superheating the air.

Nolsare are known for the surprisingly whimsical demeanours, loving to play tricks and float along with travellers. Unfortunately, due to their inherently hazardous radioactive toxicity, they are mostly avoided by humans, some even going so far as referring to them as demons.

I apologize, then; I missed that bit in the description. I guess that's good enough.

As for the exclusivity of legendary sigs, that's not my call. I would be willing to allow some of them in certain situations (I'd be on the fence about this one, but I've seen far more implausible attempts than that), but Negrek said no outright. You'll have to appeal to her if you really need it on there that badly.

Rarity: R8

Physical Description: Picture (Mahn Kittankat is credit to team <333 )
frizard.gif

Screw giving Foglobe a better name, may as well just get these over and done with.

Fixing movesets (all the stages share three level-up moves now, I'm pretty sure I've seen lines that are as/less similar) and tweaking Foglobe's description to handwave slightly justify it being an evolution line rather than three standalone Pokémon. Sprites still by Squornshellous Beta.

Pokédex Data: Often found flitting around old abandoned houses. They don’t like being exposed, so they often phase into inanimate objects and start moving them around. Occasionally, one will find an object it likes so much it bonds with it permanently to form a new Pokémon.

Foglobe like to haunt inanimate objects in order to frighten humans. If you are in an old building and see anything moving around that shouldn’t, chances are a Foglobe will come floating out.

Pokédex Data: A haunted suit of armour and self-proclaimed protector of the haunted house it inhabits. If humans attempt to trespass in its castle or mansion it will attack them relentlessly until they leave.

Though powerful, Armoraith also has a strong sense of honour. If humans attempt to stay in the house where it lives who don’t seem like they will cause harm, it will not attack, and instead frighten them out by moving around noisily while they sleep.

Evolution: Foglobe -> Armoraith (level up holding Metal Coat)
-> Gargraith (level up holding Hard Stone)
-> Mirroraith (level up holding Shiny Stone)

Rarity: R6

Physical Description: A shadowy purple figure with glowing red eyes that lives on the surface of perfectly ordinary (yet floating) mirror. As far as can be seen from the chest-height bottom edge of the mirror, the creature has two arms which can reach out from the mirror’s surface to attack, but the creature itself cannot climb out of the mirror. It can walk off out of view to either side of the reflective part but any damage to the mirror will hurt it as well.

Pokédex Data: A ghostly being that haunts mirrors in old buildings. People report coming across mirrors which warp their reflections' faces, or show dark figures behind them that cannot be seen when they look around.

Anyone who looks into Mirroraith’s possessed mirror for long enough will notice their reflection moving by itself and their face's expression or features being altered grotesquely. Eventually the Mirroraith will jump screaming from the mirror and scare them away.

Evolution: Foglobe -> Armoraith (level up holding Metal Coat)
-> Gargraith (level up holding Hard Stone)
-> Mirroraith (level up holding Shiny Stone)

Rarity: R6

Physical Description: A possessed gargoyle statue. The statue has a somewhat dragon/demon-like head and tail, a lion-like body, and bat-like wings. Like its fellow evolutions, it has glowing red eyes.

Pokédex Data: A statue built to ward off evil beings, possessed by a Foglobe. Its secondary function was as a water spout, and it still collects water to fire at opponents.

By day, it sits innocently on the base of cathedral roofs acting as guttering. By night, the ghost that haunts it awakens, and it flies around the graveyards. Clergymen are often baffled as to why their gargoyles have changed position overnight.

Notes: genderless, consensually flying, cannot phase.
