• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open The Night's Reign

Vai looked across the sky, and threw her arms around Storm as she dived down.
"Storm," she yelled. Storm roared in laughter. Vai looked up, and grinned. Well, it was kinda funny... Was that an Altaria? Vai nudged Storm, and the two spiralled down to land on the roof of the Battle Tower. The Altaria landed beside the Salamence, and with a look Vai realized it was Serena. Serena handed her a letter, and flew off again. Vai watched her go, before tearing the letter open.

White looked up. "What's that?" he asked the air. It was a moving... cloud? Wait. Moving cloud so small and low? It swooped down upon the Riolu just now and landed. He identified it as an Altaria.

"A message?" He took the letter from the bird. It's a Trainer's Pokemon. She wants us to meet her tomorrow. Nodding to his fellow Pokemon, the avian left into the sky.

White turned around and handed the letter to Ira. "I can read a bit," he said as Ira scanned the page. He confirmed it in his mind and left further into Fortree's nearby forest with White close behind.

Mark was walking to his house here in Mauville, when something blocked out the sun overhead. He looked up and saw a cloud, swooping down on him! The cloud landed next to him, and Mark realized it was an Altaria. He looked at her for a moment. It was Serena. He grabbed the letter tied to her leg and opened it. After scanning it for a few moments, Mark placed it in his pocket and patted the Altaria on her head. He ran off, and said to the Buneary on his shoulder, "Jack, there's been a change of plans..."

"Your pokemon are at full health!" The nurse said as she handed Hannah's pokeballs back to her. Holly hopped down from the counter and yipped happily.

"Thank you very much." Hannah replied.

"We hope to see you again!" said the nurse. Hannah smiled back, gave a slight wave and turned away. Why do they always say that? she pondered. She made her way to a PC. Hmm...if we're going to be fighting a big organization, I should probably expand my party a bit.

ADDED TO PARTY:

Myca - Breloom [F]

I should probably be ready to evolve Holly as soon as she's ready. Do I still have...yup, there it is!

She withdrew the item from the PC and slipped it into a pocket. She left the Pokemon center and took out the bike from her backpack. Once it was assembled, she rode off on the way to Mauville.

((Sorry for the last-minute Pokemon addition. I won't abuse it. I was just thinking that for an advanced trainer, my team was kind of skimpy))

Rico, meanwhile, was in the front yard of his home in Mauville. He lived in a moderately large single-family home, sitting on a full 3 acre homesite on the edge of the city. His parents were almost always away on 'official business,' so he had the whole estate to himself. He was practicing a new routine for the upcoming beauty contest in two days. Tango music was playing loudly in the background. This time, his Milotic was out on the lawn dancing with him, while his other three Pokémon were laying by the poolside, talking amongst themselves and drinking lemonade. While Tanya liked to sleep in the chlorine-free pool set up next to the house, she didn't have a problem staying out of the water for hours on end. It only tended to dry her out, something that is resolved simply by letting her return to the pool each night.

Suddenly, Rico heard his cell phone ringtone. He raised a finger. "Take 5, Tanya." Hearing this, his Lopunny turned off the music from a CD player set up nearby. Rico answered his phone, walking inside the house. "Hello... Rico here."
You've been given a new task.
He sighed. "All right, what is it."
Our plans at Slateport have been put on hold. There's a strong new trainer. She defeated the team we sent there.
"Okay... what would you like me to do?" he responded.
Our sources have determined that she plans to meet other trainers at the Mauville Mart tomorrow at 10am. We want you to be there. Don't reveal yourself yet, just find out more about them and report back later.
"Don't worry, I got it."

"Mr. Owens? Congrats. Come see me in Sootopolis city at your next convenience. This is a matter of potentially getting us both raises if this works. If it doesn't, we were never here. Thank you."

Sounds interesting... he thought, while supervising the move-in. He walked next to the highest rank there, who was next to a Staraptor.

"You're in charge now. There shouldn't be any problems. If there are, just call me." Kyle then got on the Staraptor and directed it to Sootopolis.

Nestled in her cozy little apartment on the western edge of Sootopolis, Marissa's home laptop buzzed. She sighed--if there was one problem to her job, it was the constant outpour of technology. That and the boss always nagging-something she intended to change shortly.

Drawing her attention to the laptop, she noticed a screen in the upper-right corner that was playing a color picture. She clicked on it, and zoomed until it filled the whole screen. The treetop camera she had asked an intel agent to install was up. She rewound to the first couple of frames to catch the tail end of Kyle on a Staraptor. Excellent, she thought.

It was a pity that she wasn't as self-sufficient as she liked to show everyone she was. She was going to regret pitching this to Kyle, but she needed a higher-up and she hated contracting outside help. Sigh.

David still sat and read a book when he heard knocking at the window, he went up and opened it, seeing an Altaria pecking at it. "What on earth does this mean?" he asked himself as he received a letter from the cloudy Pokémon, which flew away. He went to his sofa again and opened it. He went through the text, and then said "I don't think I'll get time to take part of that contest with Val after all"

((How did I miss this? I hope I'm not too late

Name: Daniel Bell
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Occupation: Student
Appearance: Daniel is 6' 3" tall and rather broad, being muscle bound but also having some fat on him. He has blond hair, usually kept between 1-3 inches, and deep blue eyes. He usually wears green walking trousers, boots and jacket, with a white shirt, brown trench coat and a backpack. He has small glasses with lenses which darken in sunlight
Personality: He is a solitary person, who is rather cold to others. Despite this, he is a nice person, and so people like him - something which he fails to fully understand. He has a quick mind and is very intelligent, although he cannot cope with other people very well, other than a few good friends, preferring to deal with pokemon.
Biography: He grew up in Saffron City, in an average suburban home, and although there was nothing wrong with his family exactly, he never felt comfortable at home, and he went to Olivine City University, where he obtained a degree in Pokemonology. He is currently in Hoenn taking a gap year in order to study local pokemon and also to try and revitalise himself, as recently he has been feeling rather low.
He spent the second year of his degree studying in Jubilife City, and as a result of his travels he has friends all over Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh and some in Hoenn, although he doesn't talk to many of them much.
Pokemon:
-Main:
Rin - glaceon - Female - Very cold, and rather heartless, but a good friend to Daniel, and the two have been together since he was 10
Dave - golduck - Male - much more open than Daniel and friendlier than Rin, Dave hatched an orphan into a pond which contained many Farfech'd. He always felt out of place until he had a dream of someone trying to take his beak off, at which point he realised uniqueness was good. Soon after he was caught by Daniel.
Sophia - tropius - Female - captured by Daniel for moving in the field, Sophia is a pacifist and refuses to fight unless under the most dire of circumstances.
Orville - starly - Male - found by the roadside, Orville has had most of his left wing torn off by a gang of children. Now unable to fly, he has taken Sophia as a replacement for his lost mother, and Dave is now mentoring and encouraging him.
Henrynidoking - Male - Nidoking was, as a Nidorino, a violent and abusive head of a Nidoran colony. He was captured after being defeated by Daniel's previous Nidoran(M), who stayed behind. It took a long time for Nidorino to calm at all, and had all gone to plan he would still be a Nidorino, but when back in Kanto Daniel went to Mount Moon, and whilst there Nidorino was needed in a battle, and evolved due to radiation from the moon stones. As a Nidoking, he became much more disciplined, and began to realise what he did wrong before. He is still angry and prone to violence, but has developed a softer side, especially when dealing with the weaker members of the party (Sophia, Orville,) Due to his temperamental improvement as a Nidoking, Henry was finally named, and unusually chose his own name, of which he is very proud.
Henry has an Amulet Coin, on a chain around his neck, and is kept in an Ultra Ball
Lou - Growlithe - Male - Captured just before he came to Hoenn, Daniel had added Lou to the team as a change from the pokémon he has raised before. Lou is young, confident, and a little cocky. He is a fast and agile, but he lacks power and so sometimes fails to make the most of his pace. He has developed a rough friendship/rivalry with Henry and has a crush on Rin, which is not reciprocated.))
