• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Wierd allergies?

I'm allergic to a flower, the name of which I've forgotten... It's Tiger Lillies or something that look like them. I picked a bouquet of them once and I got dizzy, developed hives and nearly passed out.

Also when I was a baby, I was lactose intolerant and even now, milk hurts my stomach.

I'm allergic to:

- That red food coloring for frosting that makes it turn blood red. Seriously, I almost died from that. Hives, I couldn't breathe, head swelled up massively, the works. ><

- Albuterol, which I think is an antibiotic. Can't exactly remember what happened to me that time, because I was very young at the time.

-Abilify, a bipolar medication. I very nearly died from this too, and it was even worse than the food coloring incident. I had like a pinpoint rash all over my body and I was very nearly comatose for like a week. Couldn't even get up to use the bathroom for two days. They kept having to take blood samples every four hours or so, and I was on an IV unit, which had never happened to me before.

...That last one is where my death fear of big needles and psychiatric medication comes from.
Weird enough? :D?

I don't really have any allergies, but the smell of salt gives me heartburn. Does that count?

This one time when I was little, I got some of those soap crayons you can color all over the bathtub with. I got in the bathtub and colored all over myself, and it turned out I was allergic to them, so for a while I had this weird squiggly rash all over me. :D

Why am I the only one without an allergy here?
I used to think I might be allergic to amoxicillin, but turns out I am not.
I don't even have problems with dust.

I'm not sure what 'wierd' means. Do you perhaps mean 'weird'?

Allergic to mangoes and latex. Effectively (but not actually) allergic to mildew, mold, and ragweed.

Well, I don't think I'm allergic, but once on one of those current affairs things was a girl who was allergic to water :o

Grammer freaks. You know what I meant.

Well, I never heard of anyone being allergic to hay, but then again I guess I haven't paid to much attention to anything. I have heard of hayfever though, so I guess that should've tipped me off...

...I guess I'll get around to fixing the title.

EDIT: Or not. I'm able to do so on other forums...

I'm allergic to pure orange juice.

Nothing else, I can eat oranges fine, drink diluted juice and have orange flavoured items. It's only pure orange juice that makes me break out.

You don't know that =D Unless you've eaten every food and used every product there is.

I'm guessing you ate glue?
Hmm, you're right. I could have an allergy to some obscure type of butter, or a sort of soap that isn't on the market anymore. Or maybe I'm allergic to antifreeze.
Not like I'll attempt to find that out.

Cat fur *sniffles* Dog fur I'm fine with. And also there's some types of pollens.

I don't think its an allergy, but sometimes a strong citrus flavor makes me feel sick, usually when I'm hungry or haven't had anything to eat. Oddly enough, I can still eat oranges when I'm hungry and I don't feel sick.
