• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • "But don't go on telling me I'm oblivious about other countries"

    I'd never say that =[

    Yep, it's Gordon Brown.

    The queen?
    Oh good.

XD rest assured they don't feature in it.

Yup, that's pretty much it. The monarchy doesn't do much. Except I think the Parliament has to get the Monarchy's permission to do country-affecting stuff.

Quickfire question: Who is the current PM?
Sorry if I sounded angry or offending or anything =[ I didn't mean it to be.

yeah, it is pretty good. But it's stopped until Christmas. Unfortunately.
Erm... not really, no. Once you live here you get used to it. I still fine your school system horribly confusing.

After all, we don't have constant 'grades' like I believe you do. Exams sort of replace them.

The BBC is the British Broadcasting Company. It's basically just the main Tv-people in Britain. They have lots of channels, such as BBC1, BBC2 (Oh god so original) and all the other numbers up to 8, I think, then there's C-Beebies (Which is a baby-toddler kid's channel) and CBBC (Slightly older kid's channel).

But, of course, there's still tons other channels.

Oh yeah, I forgot. A lot of British radio channels are owned by BBC, too.
I know, I wasn't trying to ask you to stop X3

    Yes. Difference in accents.

    Now, examinaminams.

In years 2, 4, 6 and 8, you have SATs, which are basically just externally marked exams to see how you're doing.

The first 'big' ones are GCSEs, which are a mixture of coursework and proper exams. They take place across years 9 to 11.

The really important ones are A-Levels. In Sixth Form, you choose a minimum of 3 (I think) subjects to take (You must have passed your GCSE in those subjects), and then you do A-Levels for them across all of Sixth. They basically affect what jobs you can get.

Oh, you can also go to University and get a diploma or whatever it's called.

    What next, Queen Arylett?
    Okay.

Rubbish, yes. Sorry, I had the sound of 'trash' and 'garbage'.

That word is slang for testicles.

School system? You're one confuses me. What on earth is 'Freshman'?

    Anyway, let's see.

    the general system:

Nursery/Preschool: This is like your Kindergarten, except it's separate from the proper schools.
Primary: This is Reception (4-5 years olds) to Year 6 (10-11 year olds)
Secondary: Year 7 (11-12 year olds) to Year 11 (15-16 year olds)
Sixth Form: Years 12 and 13 (16 year olds-18 year olds)
College: The same as Sixth Form, I believe, but you stay there for longer.

The special system which only, to my knowledge, exists in my town:

Nursery/Preschool: This is like your Kindergarten, except it's separate from the proper schools.
First School: This is Reception (4-5 years olds) to Year (8-9 year olds)
Middle School: Year 5 (9-10 year olds) to Year 8 (12-13 year olds)
Upper School: Year 9 (13-14 year olds) to Year 11 (15-16 year olds)
Sixth Form: Years 12 and 13 (16 year olds-18 year olds)

    Next, shall I explain exams?
Haha, I changed it. Too much Bruce Springsteen for meee~
I love the "Ramble about your usertitle" thread because I now actually understand some I didn't before. And I love FMC's current one "The late great daughter of mother earth" far, far too much. Have you seen RENT? If not, it's another Dannifandom I'm going to have to rope you into. Uh, you have to watch this :D (might be for the best if you didn't do so with parents in the room, though).

Ha, well done for reading all that; Wiki or somewhere could've probably summed it up better than I did, but I like rambling on about things.

Yeah, the whole thing's really sad; I don't really consider it a spoiler that Elphaba dies at the end of the book; she is the Wicked Witch of the West, after all, and we all saw her die in the Wizard of Oz movie. She was just a lot less likable then D:
I feel worst for Glinda, though, in both versions. Wicked has a sequel, Son of a Witch (about Liir, Elphaba's son), and Glinda's in there, but is desperately unhappy.

You help out in a library? Awesome, that is awesome :D It's a really nice job to have; people are much more polite to you than they are to people in supermarkets and places, and if it's really quiet, you can go and hide somewhere and read XD

Well, Halloween isn't celebrated as much over here as in the US; people sometimes get together and dress up for parties or whatever, but it's mostly only little kids who go out for sweets. But! There's a big convention (not just anime; all kinda of sci-fi and fantasyish stuff, too) in London in October that I'm planning to go to, and my sis and I are seriously considering cosplaying Glinda and Elphie. Which would be too cool, as long as we get the costumes ready on time :D

Yay! I really hope you enjoy it... I think you might have trouble playing the very last case because it requires you to blow into the mic and I'm not sure how that works on a ROM, but you shouldn't have a problem with the rest of it. If you get stuck, drop me a visitor message and I'll try and help you out - don't look at walkthroughs because it ruins all the fun.

Hey; if you have facebook, you can hunt me down; I'm fairly sure I'm the only Dannichu Rundle on there.
Of course rainbows can take down vampires. Ghosts and werewolves, too. Actually, that's what Ghostbusters needed: more rainbows XD
Wow, that is strange. I'm not bad. Busy. And I've been feeling a bit pessimestic but I'm not sure why.
A hurricane! Why didn't they have you leave?
... Frosting? *Takes a second to get it* Oh, icing. I knew that. X3; And - ah - whoops, sorry about that. *Vaccums up the crumbs*

Aha, it is quite odd. Possibly even ood~ *Kinovarylettdances with flair* (Erm. *Uncomfortable under Arylettdeathstare... distracts* Look, a bunny! Ergh, I would hate all that socialising stuff. Perhaps that's why I went into hiding from Prime Ministering, because off all the pressure. *Nods thoughtfully* That sounds a bit like me.)

Kinovamon, digivolve to - um... Wizova? I dunno. (*Has an mad scientist moment* Ahahaha; my experiment~ It liiiives okay it doesn't but it will. I formally apologise to Danni for any unnervingness I may cause, it was unintentional. And Arylett's idea! *Flees*)

Ehe, that's why I'm having trouble finding a time to try and record with my mp3... there are too many people listening in this house~ *hides* QUEEEN ARYLEEEET'S COMEBAAAACK TOUUUR~ Yeah~

Also! I see no problems with the Wicked summary, Danni~ Actually I quite enjoyed reading it. X3 And congratulations on the longest visitor message in history.
    XD

Nasty. I have lots of aural (Ie. ear) problems.

    Anyway. What to discuss now...
    Mmmm.Shivershivershiver.

No, I've never got the flu, luckily. I have had a few nasty colds, but...
    It sounds nasty =[
