Oh, it was tons of fun. :3 I stayed at an island called Poros - I dunno if you've heard of it, but it's about an hour away from the capital, Athens, by Flying Dolphin (Flying Dolphins are hydrofoils, which you might not have heard of, but if in doubt, there's always the Wikipedia, because I don't know in all technicality what one is; I just know they're fast boats that are raised at the front or something. xD;) or Flying Cat (catamarans - they have cool companies that give things cool names!), and apparently some people get it mixed up with Paros, which is completely different, but anyway. It's a really pretty island - I think we (my family and me) had been there three times before. Well, my parents went there before my older brother was born, so they've been there one time more than me and my brother have, but anyway.
The restaurants are awesome, one reason being because some of the owners come out to the front of their restaurant and waylay you as you're walking past, treating you like a long lost friend ("Hello, my friend! *jovial grin*"), or they tell one or more of their employees to do this. And there was this hilarious guy who we've toured with before who we went on a tour with in a minibus again, which was great, because we got the information from an actual Greek's point of view, and he told us some old Greek tales and such. He also beeped the vehicle's horn at a woman standing at a bus stop, which made me and my family laugh, because we'd been discussing his flirting with women like that.
Oh, and the island itself is so pretty. It's not particularly famous among the Greek islands as far as I know - it's small and apart from a temple for Poseidon, there's not much of significant historical importance or interest there, but it's a gorgeous place to stay, and people are usually really friendly there. There are mountains, it's hot - which is handy, because the temperature of the shower water is extremely variable, or at least is was in the apartment - but not unbearably hot, and of course the beautiful sea. Which is warm. :D The beach we went to had a nice café, too.
Am I sounding like a travel agent? Oh well. x3
Oh oh, we had an awesome day trip in Athens, and we saw the Parthenon - in case you don't know what it is, it's the temple of Athena - which was pretty and such. And in a place called Sentagma Square - I think that's how you spell it - there are loads of pigeons and you can buy bird grains of some sort and they come flying onto you and it's so cool. :D There are several pictures of me looking delighted and laughing with pigeons on me. They're so cute. And also, there seem to be quite a few dogs lying around in Athens in the shade, sleeping. Aww.
Hmm... oh yeah, we went on a boat trip, which we'd gone on before. It was a lot of fun. It's a small boat, and it travels around the island, stopping at two places and giving you plenty of time to swim. It feels pretty nice to swim to a beach, reach the shore, paddle for a bit then go back to the boat, hehe.
What else... we'd previously made friends with some of the restaurant owners and this time we got pictures of them. :D And the plane trips were both fun. We flew over Germany on the way. :3
Aww, sorry, that's kinda long. I hope you weren't expecting a short answer. xD; Sososo, what have you been up to these holidays?
