• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

@ your previous vm: thank you. that means a lot to me.
And at your most recent one: I should; and if not you can take me out of the contest. I don't want to hold it up.
Ah, whoops, thanks. I thought it was the usual week. I'll get to it tomorrow; too tired tonight...
I really, really, really want to ref your pending battle with Dragon because it looks ridiculous(ly cool). If you ever feel like dropping it, can you please wait until after December 16th, which is when my finals are over, so I can pick it up?

I'm just here to stake a claim on it :P
Well to be honest, I have no idea what ideas you have in your mind, e.g. where you plan to go with the season descriptions. How about you send me your ideas and descriptions of said ideas, and I elaborate on the description/write the actual, physical description of the arena?

And just to make sure: 6v6 double, right? Or 4v4 if that seems too much.
Well, there's a difference between preventing (100% chance of working) and hindering. imo clones just hinder the chance of being hit my Thunder Wave.
Technically Hopkins isn't immune to Thunder Wave; the chances of Thunder Wave succeeding are just pretty damn low. So I'd have the Pokemon Thunder Wave.
I've only been there in fall, actually... Wikipedia has an image of the river in winter, and it doesn't look like the river freezes over, though I'd wager it's pretty cold. Oh, the trees are pretty much all deciduous, so there are tons of leaves on the ground in the fall, and the branches are all bare in the winter... If we're talking about the dead of winter, there's probably quite a bit of snow on the ground, enough to go past your ankles. During the spring, it's probably quite soggy.

As for people around the Humber river, during the fall there are quite a few people watching salmon or walking around; some try fishing, too. Again, never been there outside of fall, but the area around the Humber river is mostly parkland, so there are probably people walking/biking.
Hmm... The river is fairly wide, rimmed by forest on one end and by reeds on the other. Past the reeds is the pedestrian walkway. Past the walkway is mostly gently rolling plain dotted with a few trees, eventually turning into forest too. After maybe... 300-500m? - I suck at estimating distance - there's a small waterfall where you can see salmon jumping. The river itself is fairly shallow - maybe 1-1.5m in depth, with large rocks at the bottom. A bunch of the rocks break the surface of the river. There are a bunch of ducks and geese swimming in the river, with one or two snowy egrets. Though we're replacing them with swans. :P And at the bottom of the river there might be a few dead salmon.

Is that enough of a description? More detail needed?
The first one is almost certainly the one with the most detail in the terrain, too. OTL I'd like to preserve the remains of my head, so I won't look closely at it just yet, thanks.

Hmm... How about one of the rivers, which has a thousand swans in it? Something like that?
The first one blew my head apart, not going to lie.
Not fond of the second one since I don't want to keep track of 3 Pokemon; reminds me of BfA. OTL
The third one looks good! But maybe a 6v6 instead? And more terrain to mess around with?
Hmm... I don't really feel like trying my luck at the moment, so nothing in the arena that happens by chance, if you know what I mean? So I guess simple, but with a bunch of different terrains or whatnot. Trees, sand, water, etc. I feel like I've been doing too much punching-faces-in and I wanna take it slow~

What do you prefer, though? I don't mind something crazy-complicated as long as it doesn't involve that much chance. And about the referee waiting time - no worries, I may be able to do a reffing trade with someone~
Hey, bulbasaur, I recall that we were planning to battle sometime? I'm going to have an open slot soon, if you're still interested.

A single battle would be fine by me, but I've been itching for a double battle for a while now, if you don't mind?
Hm, shit. I knew I should have set up a backup plan for this sort of event.

Well, for one, it'll have to wait until my battle slots are a bit less stuck. Admittedly, though, one of them is my own fault for not wanting my inactive rival DQ'd at the very end of the match.
Just a really quick post to say I'm still working on your battle. I should get to it by Friday.
I guess. I don't remember how much it was, though. For an inconsequential amount like fifteen bucks it wouldn't be worthwhile, but maybe I offered like fifty.

    I might.

Unfortunately, I even missed the one that was right where I live. I did, though, watch videos.
Nope. I go to a college preparatory high school, so I take 2 high school courses and 4 college courses. Mostly Psych classes.
I don't remember the exact situation with regards to Skyman, but he didn't quite get a reffing in, so, technically, not a single Metallica Gig referee has actually listened to Metallica.

Feel free to ask me for reference. It is, after all, valid to assume this is a subject I'm a fucking encyclopedia about.
It does, but it's not the best college. I'm only in it because I'm sixteen. If I were you, I'd check out Colorado State University, or CSU-Pueblo.
