• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • Oh, nice. So you don't have to worry about being out 50k if you decide too late to change your major, haha.
Do they charge you exorbitant tuition for law like they charge me for computer science? :O
Well, it must be nice not having all those freakin' five-hour lectures or whatever inhumane lawyer tortures you were enduring.
:O are you on break again? I thought you were on break from school like, a few weeks ago.
... you have enough data to stream music?! everyone says Canada is like a third-world country when it comes to internet, but damn.
we also have that, I guess, but the playlist is one thing you've got over me.
oh, we have that too! I like the part where the train randomly goes out of service at Union and the entire ridership needs to get off and wait for the next train along with everyone who was already waiting, and everyone who will show up between this train and the next train. no, wait, I hate that part.
hah! maybe this means you were well-organized enough to not have the city's central transit hub and the freakin' skydome located in connecting buildings. you will never have to know the feel of your heart plummeting to the center of the earth the moment you spot a baseball or hockey or basketball jersey when you just wanted to have a seat on the bus...
while Sao Paulo's transit system may rival Toronto's in its shittiness, at least you don't have thousands of rowdy Jays fans piling onto all the transit systems in their ugly blue jerseys and their baseball caps and giant foam Js and freaking bouquets of balloons what seems like three times a week. omfg I think one of them is actually watching the game on his phone right now. without headphones. dude you were JUST THERE... I hate baseball.
It's Attract, though - a more powerful attack is a more powerful attack, and the intent to harm should be obvious even against a sub.
The rationale behind substitutes is pretty much the same as that with energy costs of fixed-damage moves, in that however strong they are, that's how much they cost, regardless of whether or not all that damage goes through. (though my scale is inconsistent on that too...)
I understand what you're saying and was definitely noticing that happening. I most certainly am too harsh on attraction. I should probably change it to 5% natural fade per action and decrease for the exact damage of each attack dealt, at least (thus basically doubling its duration under my scale)

In the given round, I didn't double the damage taken off of attraction because it hit the Substitute and not the Mismagius. And still, we end up with 4% at the end of the round. So yeah, that needs to be changed a little bit. I think I just didn't change attraction when the official standards were updated, while I changed all the major status ailments. I should probably update Confusion too.

The only issue I have is that doing so now would disrupt the tournament battle and, well, I'd rather not have that happen again. I'll go and ask the battlers about whether they're okay with that.
