Open Dreams of the Past

Mist almost snapped, her temper a sliver from shattering like glass. This Dusknoir was enough. Her claws were twitching, but she tried hard not to attack. Really hard. And it was almost not enough. She could barely hold on. Her tail lashed as she gave a grunt, and she turned towards the Rhydon, narrowing one eye in a suspicious manner. She was siding with Skaldia on this, as if it were an argument, but didn't say anything. She didn't want her temper to blow up in front of the Dusknoir. Like that would be a problem; if he said anything more, that would happen anyway.

Hearing a sudden cry from the additional chambers, Tanya began to slither over. She recognized the voice right away, and wondered if the Rhydon had gotten into trouble. The 40 foot long sea serpent made her way to where the Rhydon had cried out, and saw several other Pokemon, in a neighboring chamber. Just from the look of them, she could tell that each of them was very strong. It was going to take some finesse to deal with them, but perhaps it could be all for the best. Now it was starting to make more sense... They must have been the target of the hypnosis... I wonder just how long they have been sleeping... and what happened... who put them in this state.

Tanya perched herself next to Terra, and lifted her head to look down at the other Pokemon. She whispered to Terra, seeing he was unhurt, "Perhaps these Pokemon can be reasoned with, but prepare a defense just in case." She turned to the sleepers, nodding her head. "Hello there... My name is Tanya. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Skaldia blatantly ignored the Dusknoir. "Oh yes, I'm sure you're the 'Chosen One' that will save us all." she retorted, and then focused on the Rhydon. A dig team? Excavating the place that they were in? Unfortunately, it still didn't tell her where they were, exactly. As a Milotic suddenly appeared, she growled, suspicious. "I'm Skaldia. I don't know about the rest, but at the moment, I've woken up with no idea where I am, why I'm here, why there are so many others with me, or what happened to us. I don't suppose we'd be lucky enough to get an answer from you?"

Her mind was slowly clearing - she could almost remember why they were here, why this room was so important... Something to do with training... Pokemon training... Eugh, why was it so hard to remember?

Terra looked to Tanya and nodded, relieved that she had come. She turned around and headed back to the other diggers.

"We found some Pokemon deep within the cave. Tanya has requested that we prepare a defense in case they get hostile." She thought for a moment. "I want all of you except for you, you, you, and you," she pointed to a Sandslash, a Charizard, a Machoke, and Nicole, "to stop what you are doing and gather some distance from their location. I'll show you where that is." she said, leading the Pokemon further in.

"What are you going to do with us?" Mist roared to the Rhydon. She was practically attacking by now, but she only held still because she wasn't facing the Dusknoir, who had thoroughly ticked her off; this was a member of the Dig team. Even though Mist knew subconsciously that they meant no harm, you could never be too careful. Or at least, she couldn't. In her mind, everyone was a stranger, and no one could be trusted.

A Pidgey, flying around the room, completely serene an unnoticing any danger. The Caterpie and the Wurmple, slowly crawling place to place in the room. Zemhal let out a gleeful laugh.

"At last, at long last, it works! These Pokemon have no more intelligence than those creatures in myths!" Zemhal said excitedly. He grabbed his machine, gently placed it in a box, picked it up, and hurriedly opened the door and rushed out of his house, onto the moderately busy street. Now to see my parents, he thought, and show them the fruits of my labor.

Tanya tried to give off a calm, soothing aura as she began to speak with the sleepers. "Welcome Skaldia. Well, I can only answer what I know, and what I have deduced. This is Union Cave, deep in the heart of the land of Johto. You have apparently been sleeping for a very long time... How long, I do not know, but if you can tell me what you do last remember, perhaps I can figure that out as well. You were under the effects of an odd, hypnotic device, putting you to sleep. A device that I have now dismantled, in effect freeing you." She nodded to the Drapion. "I can assure you, we mean no harm. You are, of course, now free to go about your own business. However, if you are curious about the world you have just awakened into, or if you wish to learn more answers about your past, you may also come with me, and we may be able to discover more together."

((Question, can I know exactly how long it's been since my character is ancient yet not sleeping? Unless you're trying to tell me that they've been down there for more than 1700 years. Or you could provide a more reasonable explanation))

Curious thoughts emerged from within. They spoke of the sleepers awakening, and worse yet, of a situation arising, then resolved. Though leaving the sunlight was something it avoided, Sinar now had to investigate.

Inside, it found that the dig team did exactly what Sinar needed them to do. Floating past strange crystals that emanated relatively weak psychic power, and Sinar's original impact site, it discovered a gaping hole that wasn't there before. A handful of Pokemon stood there, and it identified some as having slept for an indeterminate amount of time, and others were diggers.

The world has changed since I observed your encasement., Sinar simply beamed to everyone, not noticing one of the Pokemon in the chamber was a Sharpedo.

Mist felt like something prickly was inside her, and the desire for battle slowly faded away until it was no more than normal. Hopefully this would happen to the Dusknoir, too, so he wouldn't be so rude to her again. Now curious, the Drapion listened, her tail slowly swinging. She was careful not to jab anybody with it, even though if they walked into it, that was their own problem. She almost nodded as another need rose in her chest -- not to fight, but to know.

"....I last remember being put into the chambers when my Trainer was leaving somewhere. I was never awake in Johto; he just said that the Elite Trainers would need me more than he did, and he was almost captured by two men like the Team Galactic ones because they thought he still had me. It was light outside, definitely morning, but I'm sorry I can't remember specific events other than a news broadcasting of heavy rain and Flint just returning from Sunyshore..."

Zrantox suddenly felt a calming feeling inside of him. He glanced in the direction of the Milotic who was conversing with the Aerodactyl. No doubt that the Sea Snake was giving off this urge.

Obviously, she doesn't want any of us flying into a rage and injuring one of the other sleepers. Well, that worked, at least it worked on me.

Another thing that is obvious is that she is from the world above. I need to ask her about it; I must know of the world we have awakened to, if I wish to become what I once was.

"If I may inquire something," he said to the Milotic, "What exactly is the 'condition' of the world we are waking to? Has there been an uprising of pokemon? Have the humans taken total control? Or has nothing changed at all?"

ed'Rashtekaresket turned his glowing red eyes towards the Milotic, and growled quietly.

"Yes, this is all very well and everything, but would there happen to be any large pools of water or lakes nearby? I'm sure, with you being an aquatic Pokemon as well, you would care a deal about that, wouldn't you?" Looking around, it seemed that a few other Pokemon had awakened.

The Sharpedo cast his glance around, taking in the place. It seemed that all the Pokemon were a bit trusting towards the Milotic, after all, she had been the first to tell them anything.

I'd be wary of her, he thought with another low growl that only he could hear. Trustworthy Pokemon are hard to come by.

((I was a bit distracted when I wrote this, so sorry about any mistakes.))

Cole looked up from her work. "What about me? What kind of defense?" Not giving the Rhydon time to reply, she ran over to a gaping hole in the wall that was easily noticed if you weren't focused on your work. Stepping in behind Tanya, she moved to a position where she could see what was happening.

A group of tough-looking Pokemon were scattered about the room, mostly seeming to trust Tanya. A Drapion said something about remembering very little, something about rain and…Sunyshore? Wasn't that a city in Sinnoh? A Dusknoir asked how the world had changed, and a Sharpedo asked if there was any water around. Gears whirring in her head, Cole said loudly, "Wait, so you were in here for an undetermined amount of time, and you can't remember anything about how you got here from mutiple regions?"

Mist looked down slightly. "I was in my Poké Ball most of the time," she explained. "Although I also remember something about a red Gyarados...." The Drapion then turned her head towards Cole and then Tanya, hoping that had helped.... her tail was jabbed into the ground from previous anxiety caused by the Dusknoir.

Seeing that mental communications did not alert the others to his presence, Sinar was forced to use something it had little purpose for almost all the time, it's voice.

Warming up a bit first, Sinar spoke to the others physically this time, "Many many things have changed since I observed you buried under the earth. Humans seem to have taken control since then, cooperation is quite uncommon now, and many seek the end of all of us. I believe you were encased within this chamber for preservation purposes. I do believe the humans at the time wished to ensure your continued survival so that one, ah, trainer, I believe the term is, may claim all of you someday. Of course, that human shall never arrive after a great shift in human opinion of our kind occurred."

Cole glanced at the Solrock. She hadn't heard one speak properly before; hearing it speak and its words surprised her. "So you're from before the war times," she breathed to the group of new Pokemon. "Lucky. You have no idea how bad it was to live through that, even if a person was safe."

((Wait, wait, wait. Sinar is a Solrock. They start with the same letter. ^_^ Jason-kun's character is a Lunatone, if he ever posts here.))

What do you mean?, Sinar telepathically asked the human girl, and then it went on before she could reply, I have seen the suffering. I have seen what this paradigm shift has wrought upon this humble world. I have observed many things from this place, ever since my landing roughly 1,700 solar years ago, and not many events are as devastating as this. Terrestrial affairs are not my area, however I fear for my existence just as you earthlings do.

((Oops. Got confuzzled. -_-;; And I was unclear before, sorry. Edited.))

Cole was confused until she realized she'd been looking at the Solrock when she'd spoken. "Oh. I meant the new Pokemon. The ones who weren't conscious for the war. They don't have the memories, the firsthand knowledge that they should fear for their lives." She grew quieter and her gaze shifted to the wall. She remembered the fights, the bodies; the reasons she'd left.

The Milotic nodded, peering around at the different sleeper Pokemon, and watching as a Solrock and a human approached her. She slowly, without even having to look, began to wrap her tail around the human's waist. "Yes, lately, things have been rather unbalanced." She smiled as she watched the newly awakened ones. "There are many humans who are too full of themselves, and believe they alone should inherit the planet. Civilization, as it existed in your time apparently, has long since crumbled, and total anarchy is only quelled by the rise of powerful corporations and corporate militias. Nearly all of these powerhouses are ruled with an iron fist, by humans... but you happen to be in luck. For, some humans still look up to our kind and can be influenced to do our bidding." Tanya chuckled a little bit, letting go of Nicole. "So you're here to follow the 'ultimate trainer?' This might not have been what they envisioned, but now might still be the right time. We have an opportunity... to finally set things straight, to reshape society the way it was meant to be. And all I need is your help and support, to shift the balance of power once more."

With a hiss, ed'Rashtekaresket floated forwards uneasily. That was fine then, if he was being ignored, it wouldn't be the first time.. Why did the other Pokemon care about the world, or their Trainers, thing is, they were free, now. Humans could be rulers of the world, Pokemon could run all Pokemarts, for all he cared. Now he was free, he intended to be left alone and have a quiet, if not bloody, life. ed'Rashtekaresket floated towards the hole in the wall, and stopped directly in front of the Milotic.

"If you don't mind, now that we are free and not going to be enslaved by humans again, I'd like to leave. If we are free to do what we want, help you or not, then I hope you don't mind my not supporting you, so I can get back to my life. It's been a while," ed'Rashtekaresket said drily, a bit more sarcastic sounding than he had hoped. "So please move aside."

(Yeah, I meant to respond in my previous post, but it was late and I forgot to :p Sorry)

Tanya didn't seem to mind this reaction. She did give them a choice, after all. She nodded to the Sharpedo, moving aside. "Very well. To answer your question, there are a number of bodies of water in the cave. I have used them myself during this excavation. I can show you, if you want, or you can just ask one of the others where they could find me when off-duty. If you're leaving, I wish you luck through the rest of your life.

(failpost, but I have to go now)
