Cocoa [Cyndaquil] ♀
Blaze

Signature Attribute: Chocolatey Goodness

Cocoa is, as her on-the-nose name implies, a huge fan of cookies. Further evidence includes her rotundity as well as the giant cookies with holes in them that she wears on her back. Whether they be chocolate chip (her favorite) or full metal (discontinued, due to several dental complaints), Cocoa is a friend to everything chewy, moist, and filled with lots of sugar. This has led to two things: One, Cocoa is rather plump for a cyndaquil, and two, she hatched a convoluted scheme to get her life smelling as much like her favorite treat as possible.

At her request, her trainer whipped up a batch of chemicals in his chemistry set from when he was five; when loaded into the gigantic fake cookies on her back, the mixture begins to evaporate and gives her the faint, constant scent of baking chocolate chip cookies. When the fire on her back flares through the big cookies, the chemicals react instantly with the combustion and produce an intense aroma of slightly-burnt cookies that covers the area, covering up any other smells and making her very, very happy.

Effects
: Cocoa constantly smells of baking chocolate-chip cookies. Furthermore, when she lights her back on fire (while executing a fire-type move or when ordered to do so at the start of a round for a cost of 4% energy), the cyndaquil emits a much stronger scent that has a wide range of effects.

Odor Sleuth automatically targets her and only her when used, due to the fantastically overpowering scent that wafts from her. All opponent pokémon are put under the effects of a Sweet Scent attack. The moves Sweet Scent and Aromatherapy are left completely ineffective, as is the ability Stench and the part of Flower Gift that affects allies. Making contact with her while she is flaming has a 25% chance of causing the next attack performed to fail as the attacker is caught up in the wonderful smell. Pokémon species that can possibly at some point in their evolution have Gluttony as an ability have a 40% chance of this happening instead.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Pokemon: Vince
Species: Drilbur
Gender: Male
Signature Attribute: Earthsensing

Drilbur, when underground, rely on their ability to understand the ground. Vince was one of the few that grew up in a highly earthquake-prone region, and learned to react to the tiniest shift in the earth. A few training sessions were all that were required to adapt this for battle.

Effect: Because he can predict earthquakes, Vince will be able to partially avoid one, halving the damage he takes from the move Earthquake. Also, he is able to predict where an earthquake would have the most effect, increasing the power of his own Earthquake move by 1.3 times.

[Optica] Deino M (Hustle)
Signature Attribute - Infinite Vision

Optica, unlike the others of her kind, was born with a very odd genetic mutation-- instead of losing her eyesight in the dark caves where he lived, her eyes grew stronger. So strong, in fact, that she began to see through objects.

Although initially this seems to be a pretty good deal, having such incredible eyesight really puts a great strain on your eyes after a while...

Effects:

Optica has incredible eyesight. This changes her ability from Hustle to Keen Eye. Because of her incredible vision, she can see through an opponent's Double Team.

However, this comes at a cost; Optica is very startled by bright lights. Therefore, moves that involve the usage of light that are used on Optica are treated as super effective.

In addition, her amazing vision costs her 1% energy per action.

[Machina] Golett X (No Guard)

Signature Attribute: Haunted Clay

As we all know, Golett are little automotons that are alive thanks to the burning energy of their souls. Machina is no exception, but he's a tad different from all the other Goletts.

In a practice battle with Youngster Joey, Machina was ordered by his trainer to create a Substitute to protect against a barrage of String Shots. Machina did so, and at first nothing out of the ordinary occurred; the clone jumped in front of all of the string.

The odd thing was that as the string covered the Substitute's body, it appeared to get... slower. As the round ended, Kam pondered to himself why the Substitute was affected by the attacks.

The clone then turned to him and asked why he wasn't being given any commands that action.

Jason can move and attack free of energy, but at the end of the round his life force will drain away and he will crumble apart into a pile of bricks. (Jason!!! D:)

All of Machina's substitutes will have this effect, with no exceptions.

If Machina makes a 10% Sub on Round 1, it will cost him 10% energy and act normally during Round 1, come to life at the end of Round 1, attack during Round 2, and disintegrate at the end of Round 2.

[Gelio] Ralts F (Trace)
Signature Attribute – Aikido

There are two unique things about Gelio. One is that she always wears a kimino, for some odd reason. That one doesn't do anything. The other is that she has always wanted to be a Gallade. When she was young, she dreamed of growing up and evolving into one. Then, one day, someone told her that only male Ralts could become Gallade. She rebelled against Gamefreak's Mother Nature's blatant gender discrimination and learned Aikido by watching fighting-type pokemon. She also learned a few other tricks, mostly ones that involved something she could replicate with her psychic powers, since she doesn't have the strength to actually punch or kick hard. Unfortunately, as a result of spending so much time learning fighting-type moves, she doesn't actually know much about the powers of psychic-type pokemon, and isn't as adept at manipulating the very fabric of reality and telling the laws of physics to sit down and shut up as well as others of her kind are.

Gelio gains access to the moves Aura Sphere, Circle Throw, Counter, Detect, Drain Punch, Focus Blast, Force Palm, Reversal, Seismic Toss, Storm Throw, Vacuum Wave, Vital Throw, and Work Up, but loses access to the moves Calm Mind, Destiny Bond, Dream Eater, Future Sight, Heal Pulse, Magic Coat, Psychic, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Skill Swap, and Synchronoise.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

CorsolaSprite.png

Moonflower (f)
<Hustle>

Signature Attribute: Zooplankton Gardening

Moonflower grew up in a very special type of water. Actually, instead of living on a coral reef like most other Corsola, she was born in a very clear lake on top of a mountain. The result of this is that plants could develop quite faster than in salty water. And everybody knows Corsola are very sensitive to any kind of plant invasion. To defend against this, Moonflower’s family acquired (after few centuries of adaptation) a very unique trait: they became the host of a tiny parasitic zooplankton. These organisms developed in a way they could entirely absorb vegetal cells nearby, and thus found in Corsola’s heavily targeted body a great place to call home. So small they are invisible to the naked eye, they built up colonies on Moonflower’s branches so they could absorb and eat up the plants or grass type energy she received. Since the parasites don’t cover Moonflower’s entire body, they can’t absorb all the attack, but they can surely weaken them enough for her to tolerate the blow. Since they filled Moonflower’s porous exoskeleton, they connected to her nervous system, and can use the extra energy from powerful grass-type blows to send invigorating pulses to her. However, the zooplanktons need energy to live, and as any parasite they take the energy from their host. Additionally, zooplanktons have much more difficulty to survive in very dry environments, meaning they will need even more energy.

Effects: Moonflower takes only damage from grass-type attacks as she was only 2 times weak to them. Additionally, when hit by one exceeding 79 in power, there is a 30% chance the zooplanktons will send a nervous pulse, raising her Speed and Accuracy by one level, or waking her up if she is asleep. Spores and seeds can’t penetrate in Moonflower’s body, meaning that Cotton Spore, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder, Spore, Stun Spore and Worry Seed won’t work on Moonflower. However, beneficial effects of plants won’t affect her either, meaning Aromatherapy won’t heal her from status and if she ever receives Cotton Guard from an ally using Baton Pass, its effect will fade. Also, if Moonflower were to hold a berry, it would be consumed without its effect kicking in. Finally, the zooplankton will absorb 4% energy from Moonflower per round in normal conditions, and 6% if in a very dry environment (read: desert) or when Sunny Day is in effect.

BEHOLD MY NEW POWERS AS A SIGNATURE MOVE APPROVER

[Deadly Red] Corphish [♂]
Shell Armor

Signature Move: Pistolshrimped

Deadly Red's most immediately-noticeable feature is his gigantic right claw. He was born with this odd genetic abnormality, and is quite proficient at using the oversized claw in both battle and everyday tasks. And although most people would guess (correctly) that his giant claw gives hims a huge attacking advantage, many would be wrong in guessing why: Red's claw can be swung forward in a fraction of an instant, superheating the air or water around it and forming small pocket vacuums that almost reach the heat of the sun for an instant. The loud shockwave produced by this swift movement is short-range, and the superheating inconsequential, but it's enough to add that extra oomph to the strike.

Normal / Physical / 10-14% / 85% / Single / 7% / One Action

Effects: Pistolshrimped deals damage and is a priority-one move. The sound wave produced by the attack does an additional 4% damage to the target if they don't have the Soundproof ability or something similar to block the noise with. It also has a 20% to make the opponent flinch, due to the intense, very sudden nature of the attack.

Usage Gap: Five Rounds

To me, 14% damage is a lot for a flinching priority attack, even considering the large usage gap. You could try to lower the power slightly and also you can lower the usage gap if you want to actually use that attack more than once in a battle.
Not Approved yet.

[Soldier] Rufflet (male) <Sheer Force>

Signature Move: Screamin' Eagles

Soldier is a fighter by nature, and has been trained to work as a team. He fancies himself a leader of sorts, even if he's not the oldest of his squad, and will act as such. He's very fond of giving orders, and even if it may be a bit embarrassing to get screamed at by a little fluffy bird, there's just something invigorating about being incited into a patriotic charge at the foe.

And so Soldier takes great pride in his loud cries, screaming out a challenge, order, or pep talk of sorts to his team who can hear him.

Soldier tends to give a different sort of cry depending on how healthy the enemy is, so there are a few different effects his screams can have over his teammates. In case there are foes in multiple domains of the attack, the highest domain takes effect. All status boosts last as long as normal boosts would unless otherwise noted, but they will wear off if Soldier faints or the Pokemon becomes depressed or upset. All effects are applied to Soldier himself as well. The effects do not stack: if he uses it again, the old boosts are replaced by the new ones.

100%-51%: Buff Banner - Soldier screams a challenge to the foe, before encouraging his allies with a bugle-like warcry. This grants a +1 to the Attack of all allies, and they are treated as if under the effects of Focus Energy for one action after this attack is used. After using this attack, Soldier takes 2% recoil every time he makes a physical attack for 3 actions.

50%-26%: Battalion's Backup - Soldier orders his allies to not let their guard down, threatening to 'strangle them with their own frilly training bra' if they let him down. This grants all allies +1 to Defence, and they are treated as if they gained the ability Battle Armour for two actions, at the cost of a -1 to Attack and Special Attack.

25%-1%: Concheror - Soldier encourages his allies to glory in the defeat of their foes, causing them to regain 2% health each time they land an attack on a foe, for 3 actions. Soldier takes a -1 Speed penalty for the same amount of time.

Type: Fighting / Stat: N/A / Base Damage: 0% / Accuracy: -- / Target: All Allies within hearing range / Energy: 5% / Duration: one action
Effects:
Buff Banner (100%-51%): + ATK to all allies, Focus Energy effect for 1 action. Soldier takes 2% recoil for using physical attacks for 3 actions
Battalion's Backup (50%-26%): +1 to DEF, treated as if having Battle Armour Abiliy for 2 actions. -1 to ATK/SPATK
Concheror (25%-1%): Regain 2% Health every time they land an attack for 3 actions. -1 SPD penalty to Solider for 3 actions
Usage Gap: 6 actions

That looks overall solid and far from overpowered. I see nothing wrong with it, so unless important people see something obviously wrong, this is Approved.

Justin Beaver [Bidoof] (F) Unaware

Signature Move: Internet Sing

As Justin Beaver's name suggests, she likes to sing. Specifically songs from the internet. So her trainer found a way to make use of this ability. He attached a vocal transmitter to her so when she sings, things occur. Each song has an equal chance of being sung.

Want you gone: As Justin Beaver sings this song, choose a Pokemon. For the rest of the round, that Pokemon does not exist.

Still Alive: For the rest of the round, Justin's health cannot go under 1%.

Sound of my dream: All Pokemon fall asleep, and gain the Nightmare status.

Sandstorm: A sandstorm starts. In addition, for as long as it is up, all Pokemon get +1 Attack and Special Attack.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger: All Pokemon randomly get +1 Speed, Attack, or Defense, or they get a +6 in a stat of the ref's choice.

Type: Normal / Stat: N/A / Base Damage: 0% / Accuracy: -- / Target: Varies / Energy:15% / Duration: Varies
Effects: One of these randomly happens: Want you gone: As Justin Beaver sings this song, choose a Pokemon.

Usage Gap: 7 actions

Usually we need better explanation than “he sings”. How could his singing whip up a sandstorm and make everybody asleep and tortured by mental madness and make a pokémon disappear into nothingness? Not only this needs a very solid backstory but also Want you Gone is overpowered. It needs serious revising. Not Approved.

[Skywing] Starly (m)
Ability: Keen Eye
Signature Move: Vacuum Pump

Skywing spent many years under the care of Fire Fighter Dave, of the Johto region. This man, unlike traditional fire fighters, forsook Water Pokemon (water actually being a very inefficient way of putting out fires) and instead worked with Flying Pokemon.

Learning that fires need Oxygen to burn, and thus could not exist in a vacuum, Dave taught a variety of Flying Pokémon a very dangerous and controversial move; Vacuum Pump. By flapping their wings at incredible speed, these Flying Pokémon could literally suck the air from a fire, killing it instantly. This move, however, was greatly taxing on the Pokémon, using it actually put them in pain and exhausted them greatly.

Dave was forced to release his Pokémon under grounds of cruelty, but Skywing never forgot the move. He knows how effective it is in battle, because not only can he defeat all forms of fire attacks with this move, but by removing the oxygen from a foe's Pokémon's immediate area, it becomes much harder for them to attack, or even move.

Type:Flying
Stat:This move deals no damage.
Base Damage:This move deals no damage.
Accuracy:100%
Target:One Pokemon (or many, if they are close together).
Energy:This move uses up all of Skywings' remaining energy bar 1.
Duration:One attack
Effects:Vacuum Pump nullifies any Special fire moves that are used against Skywing immediately before the move is used. It also greatly increases the energy the target must use, doubling the amount. Skywing looses all his energy except for 1 point, meaning that no matter his energy, it will always be reduced to 1 upon using this move. Because of the great strain this move has, Skywing looses 5% health.
Use Gap:This move cannot be used twice in one battle.

This looks good, however you might want to lower the energy cost by a bunch, because a plausible 99% energy is unthinkable. Also, it would be preferable that the energy cost isn’t variable. Not Approved.

[Blueblade] Piplup (m)
Ability: Torrent
Signature Move: Water Wall
Type:Water
Stat/Base Damage:This move deals no damage.
Accuracy:---
Target:Self-possibly team mates.
Energy:20%
Duration:Five turns
Effects: Blueblade (and any team mate within three feet of the body of water) are protected by the Water Wall. Thus, they gain a Defense and Special Defense bonus of +2. However, the wall reduces their Attack and Special Attack by -1.

This needs a backstory (Skywing’s was awesome so I’m not afraid it’ll be a difficult task for you to find one). How did Blueblade learn the move, and what explains other Piplups don’t have access to it? The move itself is okay, I guess, but yeah. Backstory. Not Approved.

If I missed anything, feel free to complain.

Woah, woah, hold on a sec. This is far too overpowered for a first-stage Pokemon. It will almost always deal 12% damage as few Pokemon have Soundproof (on another note 9~12% is not a difference of 4%), so it can be compared to Fire Blast, what with it having the same base power and accuracy. By Negrek's scale, it would take about 8% energy - however, this move is not only priority but also has a chance to flinch. So I'd up the energy cost to around 10% energy.

Additionally, Lord of the Fireflies, as far as I've seen, approvers only recommend changes and don't make them "because they feel like it". Anyway, in this case, since this move is quite powerful I'd keep the usage gap as is, at least until Deadly Red evolves.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Sorry for the double post, but this is a different subject.

Voltari – Electrike (m)
<Lightningrod>

Signature Attribute: From the Wild

Voltari, unlike most other Electrike who were raised by humans or close to cities, comes from the Wild (with a big W). No one really knows where it is exactly and how he grew up, but what is known is that he grew up completely away from any civilization, and the most eminent scientists of Asber think that his family lived for generations completely cut from the rest of the world. This theory is supported by the fact that Voltari is very different from other Electrike, physically-wise. He has a much stronger dentition, with longer canines and a superior jaw power. Since the wild is very dangerous, communication with others is the key to survival, and Voltari’s pack has adapted to the situation by developing a more complex and strong communication system, using more powerful and efficient cries. However, since Voltari didn’t get used to any sort of technology since his birth, he can’t utilize man-made items to help him in battle.

Effects: Voltari has a superior biting force, giving each of his biting moves (Bite, Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang and Thunder Fang) a 1.25 multiplier before all calculations. Also, he is very adept at communicating through various sounds, giving all of his sound moves double the effect (ex: Snarl lowers special attack by two stages instead of one and Snore has twice the chances of flinching). However, Voltari is unable to use man-made items, but still able to use berries and items that just have to be hold (ex: Scope Lens or Choice Band will have no effect, but Lum Berry, which can be found in the Wild, and Reaper Cloth, which only affects appearance, will work).

Effect: Because he can predict earthquakes, Vince will be able to partially avoid one, halving the damage he takes from the move Earthquake. Also, he is able to predict where an earthquake would have the most effect, increasing the power of his own Earthquake move by 1.3 times.

Needs a drawback.

Optica, unlike the others of her kind, was born with a very odd genetic mutation-- instead of losing her eyesight in the dark caves where he lived, her eyes grew stronger. So strong, in fact, that she began to see through objects.

Optica's looks fine.

Machina's attribute needs work on its backstory; saying "Machina is different from other Golett" and not even mentioning why it is different isn't enough. Effects-wise, it doesn't look too bad, so I'm going to tentatively approve it apart from that.

The moves gained and moves lost seem imbalanced- Gelio loses quite a few support moves in exchange for mostly damaging ones. Generally, when a Pokémon loses moves from an attribute they are replaced with their closest appropriate equivalent, and vice versa.

Moonflower (f)
<Hustle>

"2 times weak" should probably be rephrased; in ASB, a double weakness results in a damage multiplier of 2, so Moonflower is already "2 times weak" to Grass. Other than that it looks fine.

Sorry for the double post, but this is a different subject.

Voltari – Electrike (m)
<Lightningrod>

I'm not sure I buy the "all sound moves have double the effect" part- how many species communicate via snoring, for instance? And how would one go about doubling the effects of, say, Roar? It could probably use a larger drawback, too.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

I tried to make the moves gained and lost be sort of equivalent, but some are a little off. Hopefully this is better.

Effects: Voltari has a superior biting force, giving each of his biting moves (Bite, Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang and Thunder Fang) a 1.25 multiplier before all calculations. Moreover, there is a 5% chance each action that Voltari will ignore his trainer’s commands to use a random damaging move on an opponent.

Re: Pokémon Registration Office

Wow, completely forgot Blueblade's back story, just shows where my head is. I actually posted this yesterday, but I guess technical errors deleted it..somehow.

Anyhow, hopefully they're fixed.

This move, however, was greatly taxing on the Pokémon, using it actually put them in pain and exhausted them greatly.*

Dave was forced to release his Pokémon under grounds of cruelty, but Skywing never forgot the move. He knows how effective it is in battle, because not only can he defeat all forms of fire attacks with this move, but by removing the oxygen from a foe's Pokémon's immediate area, it becomes much harder for them to attack, or even move.*

Type:Flying
Stat:This move deals no damage.
Base Damage:This move deals no damage.
Accuracy:100%
Target:One Pokemon (or many, if they are close together).
Energy:35%
Duration:One attack (which's effects last five turns).
Effects:Vacuum Pump nullifies any Special fire moves that are used against Skywing immediately before the move is used. It also greatly increases the energy the target must use for five turns, doubling the amount. This move costs Skywing 30% energy. Because of the great strain this move has, Skywing looses 5% health.
Use Gap:This move cannot be used twice in one battle.

Blueblade is a Royal Piplup, heir to the Artica throne. Part of why he is travelling with Coroxn is because he is training to be a strong warrior, so that he may lead his people with courage, valor and wisdom upon his father's passing. Because of his Royal anscestry, Blueblade has access to a rather special move.

As law in Artica states, anyone who succeeds in assassinating a Royal can take their place on the throne. The reason why Blueblade's bloodline have been reighning successfully for three centuries is not for a lack of assassins, but for a move they created: Water Wall. Using their natural control of waters, the Royals create a wall of water, taken from the moisture in the air, to be a physical barrier between the Royal and the attacker-or the attacker's weapon.

Blueblade has excelled in this technique. Unfortunately, there is considerably less moisture in the air in most climates, and he must be within a metric meter (three feet) of a body of water to pull it off, unless he is in a polar region, where it can be used anytime.

[Blueblade] Piplup (m)
Ability: Torrent
Signature Move: Water Wall
Type:Water
Stat/Base Damage:This move deals no damage.
Accuracy:---
Target:Self-possibly team mates.
Energy:20%
Duration:Five turns
Effects: Blueblade (and any team mate within three feet of the body of water) are protected by the Water Wall. Thus, they gain a Defense and Special Defense bonus of +2. However, the wall reduces their Attack and Special Attack by -1. In polar regions, this move can be used anywhere, regardless of nearby water. In this case, any teammate within three feet of Blueblade will be protected (and hindered) also.
