Open Return of the Pokemon - The Egg Holders

Julian stood by the doorway, smelling the food his mother had given him for the trip. "Thanks for the food and supplies, mom. I think I'd better get going now." he called out, "Don't let Joe burn the house down while I'm gone." Julian looked to the sofa, expecting an angry outburst from his stepdad, but the man was too transfixed by the television to even pretend to care. Julian sighed, then stepped outside.

Hmm... I seem to have a problem, Julian thought, I've no idea which way I'm supposed to go. Perhaps If I... That's when he spied a girl clutching an icy-blue egg riding a bike. So she found one too, huh? What are the odds...

Julian held the purple-tinted egg up to his chest and ran over to meet the traveler.

((It's Katelyn, or Flora, if you haven't already figured it out))

Having already entered the route and its extremely long grass, she didn't see the arrival of the person in the car. As she walked through the grass, thanking her stars that there were no so-called 'ninjas' around to bother her, the egg stirred slightly. It gave no further reactions, but it comforted her oddly to know that there was indeed a tiny life inside.

Blake leapt from the ledge and landed in the soft dirt with a dull thud, "Glad that's over, i hate downward slopes." He stretched his back and checked to make sure the egg was still inside its pack. A thin stream of smoke over the forest told him he was getting closer to Celestic town. "Almost there".

Zack stepped forward and stopped the door from closing completely, he pushed it open and stepped in, "Sir, I'll be heading to Eterna City in hope of finding one of these egg carriers. I'll report back once I arrive." Without waiting for a reply he ran out of the building and to his car which remained parked by the office complex.

After driving around the southern end of the mountain and north along the cliffs he arrived at the city and parked his car behind the Hotel. He stepped around to the front and, after sending a message to Freeman, pulled out a newspaper. He began to read while still scanning the crowd for any potential egg carriers.

"Hmm..." He slid the bookmark back into the book, put it on the dashboard and jumped out. He locked the door even as he began running. "Alright...there she is." He watched the girl for a moment, thinking. "Ok. I have to cut her off at the bridge. Ah! I have an idea." He chuckled and ran through the grass. Finally, he arrived at the bridge. Scanning the grass, he couldn't see her, but he could only hope it was because of the grass and not because she'd passed through. He stood by the bridge and waited. All I have to do is tell her the road has been blocked, then when she goes back past the car, I'll swipe it and run...or I could wait and see what she does, then swipe it...

There was a slope going up in the little dip at the north of Oreburgh city. Liza looked down at the yellow egg she held and decided to put it in her bag so it didn't get cracked. She backed up her bike and hopped on the back. "Here goes nothing!" she sped up and went up the slope. She soared a bit and landed on the ground, the bike almost toppiling over. She checked the egg and it seemed fine.
"Ok then, off to Hearthome!"
((sure we could meet upin Hearthome if you guys want))

Salene was glad when she could leave her home behind in Eterna. Good riddance. she thought as she hopped on her bike and started pedaling to Celestic, making sure the egg didn't fall out of her backpack.

Finally rid of all the torture, the pain, the sadness... finally free.

After what seemed like forever, Drake finally arrived in Eterna. He began to head to the Pokemon statue, nearly getting run over by a girl wearing a backpack, pedaling furiously on a bike. By the time he turned around to yell "Watch where you're going!", she was already long gone.

Weird, he thought to himself.

He stared at the statue, deep in thought. All of a sudden, he heard a rather loud crack from his bag. He looked in his bag and saw that the egg had a small fracture down its middle.

I've got to get to Celestic, and fast.

He zipped his bag closed and ran for Mt. Coronet.

Jack ran towards the tall grassy area north of Solaceon. The egg tucked under his arm, he was running slower today because of it. It may not have been born yet, but he knew that he had to keep it safe with all his heart. He dashed straight through the grass without a second thought. We're almost there buddy, just hold on a little longer.. Then fog began to roll in, making it almost impossible to see. Good thing he had been here before. He kept moving as far as he could, the brownish egg with red details still under his arm. He remembered people talking about trainers that used to litter the area, all anticipating their next battle. He crossed the bridge slowly and carefully, so not to drop his egg, and sat down on the other side, gasping for breath.

Salene saw someone she almost ran over. "Hey! Watch where you're going!" She turned and looked back. "Oh, sorry; I'm just in a hurry to get to Celestic..." she said.

Egil blinked when he saw the girl approach him, but flashed his most charming smile and motioned down the path in the direction he was headed, still carefully cradling his egg.

"Well I just came from Floaroma, so I assume its that way. Whatcha headed there for?" He said, chuckling a bit.

Shifting the egg again, he got a bit closer to the girl.

"My name's Egil, by the way. You are?"

He offered a hand to shake.

After the second employee had left, Leonard returned to looking at his scaled map of Sinnoh.

So knowing that they intend to reach Celestic... he picked up several, chess piece-sized figures holding an egg and placed them outside either entrance to the town, and so far, two of mine are on the move; one of them in Eterna... he placed a small, soldier-looking figure in the model of the city, and another somewhere on the move to Celestic, intending to intercept them en route.

He sat back down at his desk. I need to think of a decent way to use what little pieces I have to my advantage.

Good thing I have a lot of time to think. I doubt that either of them will call me until they've actually captured one of them...

Zack looked up as he heard someone on a bike say they were headed to Celestic, "Worth a shot," He mumbled and folded the newspaper before walking around to his car and driving slowly after the girl on a bike, hopefully out of sight.

---------------

Blake stopped as he came to a stream running through the forest, it didn't appear deep and these days there were no Pokémon to bother you while you try to cross. He pulled his thermos from his bag and shook it, it seemed empty. "I guess I’ll fill this up and boil it when i get to Celestic, or maybe I’ll be lucky and find some cleaner water along the way. He twisted off the cap and knelt by the water before putting the mouth of the thermos in the water.

As he ran towards the tunnel that led into Celestic, he saw that the girl with the bike had stopped. She said, "Oh, sorry; I'm just in a hurry to get to Celestic..."

"What, you too? What a coincedednce. Can't really talk right now though, this umm..." Adam thought for a moment. She was going to Celestic, and Arceus had said there would be others.... but, if he told anybody about his egg, bad things could happen. People would kill to have a pokemon, especially since they had all disappeared. "...Well, let's just say I need to get to Celestic Town, really fast. See you!"

Adam ran past the girl, and into Mt. Coronet. He could feel whatever was in the egg moving.

"Ur...I gotta take a thing there." Imogen said, waving the question aside with a vague hand gesture. She turned and looked down the way she came, resisting the urge to facepalm. "Damnit...knew I was going the wrong way!"

She turned and grinned brightly at Egil, bounding up to him. "Hey! I'm Imogen!" She went to shake his hand, the egg dragging down her jumper as she did. After the shake she realised the position of her egg and quickly scooped it up through her jumper again. "Thanks...and what is that?" She asked curiously, pointing to Egil's small egg.

"Yes! Hearthome city!" she checked the egg in her pack and saw a thin line along the egg. 'Uh oh! I better hurry before this egg splits!' she thought to herself. She went past the formor contest hall, now just empty looking. She would have enjoyed the contests they held there if pokemon hadn't disappeared. She looked at the town and it seemed as if the city was now bare. She looked for a bench and sat down, thinking what the city would be like full of pokemon.

He crossed the bridge slowly and carefully, so not to drop his egg, and sat down on the other side, gasping for breath.

((Er, you can't cross the bridge. David is blocking it with the excuse that "The road ahead has been blocked. With Pokémon it'd be no problem, but now..." to make sure no Egg Carriers slip by.))

(ohh.ok don't worry)
He was about to cross the last bridge, when he noticed it was out. "Today just gets better and better.." Looking for another way over, he noticed his egg starting to shake. Then he got an idea. Pulling off his shirt, he used it to tie his egg to him very tightly. He ran around to the ledge underneath the bridge and dove into the water, being very careful with the egg, he swam lightly, letting the current bring him to his destination. If pokemon were still around, he wouldn't try this for fear of upsetting it's inhabitants.

Having made it through the extremely tall grass, Jessica is now stumbling through the fog. While it is extremely difficult to see, it's at least possible to tell where there's a mountainous patch up ahead. As she steps onto the conveniently-placed steps, her egg makes a loud 'CHK' sound, which she assumes is the creature inside, followed by a 'CRACK'. Looking into her satchel, she sees a large crack on the egg.

Liza looked at her bag and decided it was time to leave. She got back on her bike and peddled to the area where it crossed into the path for Solaceon. There was grass everywhere and she saw how baren the place looked. "It must have been filled with trainers before pokemon disappeared...I better hurry to Solaceon!" she said pedaling faster. She was in Solaceon faster the she thought she would get there and just kept pedaling. She saw the fog up ahead and got off her bike. "Looks like I'll be traveling on foot from here!" she said looking at her egg. There was now a crack in it that looked like a lightning strike. She left her bike and ran through the tall grass. I can always get another one! she thought to herself being surrounded by fog.

Blake stood up and put the cap back on his thermos before slipping it back into the pocket on his bag. He stepped over the stream and continued walking towards the smoke on the horizon.

After a minute or so fog began to change his view of the landscape, "I hope i don't walk into a tree," he chuckled to himself and continued walking.
