Open Strike Of the Dark Legion

Maruu's ear wiggled finding their voices not too far away and scurried off towards them. Once there he stood straight and sighed, "Anyone hurt?"

He remembered Anju had gotten struck in the head but wasn't aware of how severe the blow was since that scene had not been according to plan. In a childish fashion he placed a paw on the Kirlia's head.

"What about you?"

"I'm fine, Maruu." Andromeda said, "Sorry for leaving you up there. I should've grabbed you or something."

She turned to Anju, waiting for her response.

Hope she's okay. she thought, looking at the Kirlia.

Feeling the Raichu's hand on her head made her feel a little pain from when she got kicked. "Yes, I'm fine. Just got kicked, I'll be alright." she said not flinching. My head must still be tender from that Blaze Kick... She though to herself.

Maruu shook his head, "It's fine, An. As long as you are well."

His marble eyes fell upon Anju once more, "We'll have to ice that when we get home before you go to sleep..."

If you go to sleep without one...you might blackout... He thought.

It took only a short while for Ember to arrive at the castle. She entered in a show-off manner, waltzing up the stairs.

She entered the conference room and took her seat in the very center of the left side. Maybe she'd become a Leader...

Argotem shifted uncomfortably in his seat, and growled.

"Titress, the others obviously won't get here soon. Hergal is failing you. It's been at least a half-hour! Can we get this started already? Also, if there was a fight back in the Strange City and I didn't know, well, I already warned you. If someone would be as kind to tell me, they definitely won't suffer."

Titress let out another sigh. She was doing that a lot recently. It wasn't easy leading a bunch or unruly operatives, but it had to be done for her goals to be completed.

She lifted out of her seat and floated behind Argotem. She swore he had some hidden agenda, like many others. The only ones that probably didn't were the Elites, since they actually wanted the job. Like that Ember. It was obvious she wanted a leader position very bad.

As for Argotem. What he just said was out of character for him. He didn't care about others suffering. All he cared for was about being on top, which was one of the main reasons he was a leader today.

"Very well Argotem, although I don't see a reason you need to rush anywhere." She said, annoyed at the ghostly Marowak.

"As for the others, I expect you all to inform them of this plan later." She then pulled a flyer from underneath her arm, that she had picked up at the beginning of their Trump Card Headquarters search and placed it in the center of the table.

"This is an advertisement for the GBA adolescent's tournament. Many children will be participating in this tournament, so it will be a grand place to attack. So here's what we're going to do. Ember, still being rather young, will participate in this tournament." She took a deep breath.

"Meanwhile, Beauty and I will be masquerading as Ember's managers, so that we can get to the inside and stay in the small restoration center behind the scenes and take the injured ones back to base. Krika, you will take Hergal and stay in the stands, waiting for the final round, or when Ember cannot continue."

Titress floated back towards her seat and looked at her members.

"If you see any members of the Trump Card at any point, we wait until they intervene, then we will strike back. Ember, this might be the chance you're waiting for, so don't fail." Titress then turned back and stared Argotem right in the eyes woth an icy glare.

"Argotem, lead a raid on the power plant in the Grand Rockies while this is in action. Feel free to take several units with you, and even take Bes if you want. The tournament is in three days, so take that time to prepare." She then turned to the rest of the table.

"Now... Any questions?" This was a standard question and the mission would be very useful to them in her goal. This could also get them more recruits. She knew for a fact that some of these fighters would love to battle for this team.

Argotem met Titress's icy glare with a ghostly one that would have made almost any other patron begin to weep, or even faint. Realizing something, he relinquished his stare and began:

"Titress, if I may make a suggestion, perhaps you shouldn't accompany Ember, as many people would recognize you easily." Argotem was thinking purely strategically now. "I'll gladly lead that raid you just commanded, but I wish you would reconsider your choices of 'managers' for Ember. I know you don't hold much faith in me, but I truly think this is in your best interest."

He glanced around the room, seeing if anyone would oppose his thoughts.

"As for those I'll take with me, just a flank of underlings that don't necessarily have names along with one or two other Elites and mooks will do fine, and I think having Bes accompanying me is a... splendid idea." ((Breaking the fourth wall FTW!)) Argotem stood, turned, and left the room.

"Ember, still being rather young, will participate in this tournament."
Ember's eyes lit up and she grinned madly.

"...or when Ember cannot continue."
"Hey!" she shouted, "I can do the whole thing myself!"

"Ember, this might be the chance you're waiting for, so don't fail."
"I promise I won't, Titress!" she yelled as she stood up in her chair. It nearly tipped over, but she managed to make it still.

"I can't kill them, right? Just maiming?" Ember asked curiously.

Krika took one cold look around the room as Argotem began to... reason with... Titress

How very interesting, he thought, is she doing this because she wants to keep a close eye on me; to put me in a position where I cannot foul up her plan, or is it...

He considered voicing his concerns, but he decided against it. Let that traitorous Argotem be the only vocal point of concern under Titress' radar. All that while, Krika could go about hiding his greatest doubts. That would suffice, yes it would certainly suffice.

"I have no objections," he simply said, and waited for others to voice their sentiments.

"Sounds great to me," Beauty replied, grinning wickedly, her previous anger forgotten at the idea of another plan. "However, I did lead the charge against Maruu before. I suggest camoflauge. Now, my key differences from any other member of my species can be easily smoothed out, but you, my leader, will need help. Maybe some paint, since your differences are only superficial? We could keep you hidden, too. I could easily do most of the planning and work for this one, with you remaining unseen but still there. Perhaps we should have a large group of our underlings waiting outside, ones that are completely unrecognizeable? As when Trump Card surely intervenes, we can take them down in a massive, final, ambush!"

The beautifly was starting to get restless with anticipation. She could imagine the battle, with the foolish raichu heading a silly charge, when they would strike! Beauty could imagine it, with the rest of Trump Card's underlings that have not been killed forcing to watch as she painfully and slowly sapped their leader of his life with her favorite attack, giga drain, smiling all the while in the morning sun... it was wonderful.

He would taste just like those wurmple... Beauty licked her lips in anticipation. "If we do manage to defeat Trump Card on this mission, I will need Maruu. If that is alright with you all." She looked up at the group with an intimidating glance that showed just what would happen if it was not 'alright with them'.

This was good. This was very good. Having Bes on a raid with him... this would be, well, entertaining to say the least. Now, whom else would he take... Glimmer, perhaps. But then Argotem was not very fond of her. Actually, Argotem was fond of very few Pokemon. Argotem was almost out of the room when something new occurred to him. He turned back to Titress, saying

"Actually, Titress, I think Bes and I will be all my new mission requires. I will, however give it some thought over the next few days. Thank you for giving me this... opportunity." Argotem then curtly bowed and left the without another syllable to anyone.

-----------------------

Bes knew of the meeting, but decided not to go, because of two reasons. One, someone would tell him about it anyway, and he could just tell Titress he had been absorbed in some important studying, as he did this often, and two he needed to practice his new move more. After sneaking off to a secluded corner of his masterpiece, this castle, and quietly teleported back to the forest, to find another glade to freeze over.

Titress looked around the room. They all posed very good points, but she would start with Ember's, since this whole mission was practically based around her.

"No. Not only would the officials running the competition not allow it, but it would make this whole experience pointless and without reason. You will fight until the opponent is knocked out and cannot continue. That shouldn't be a problem though." She said to the oddly coloured Riolu.

Her attention then moved to Beauty, who's concerns were very true and made plenty of sense. The blue cloak in her room would not be enough.
"Very well Beauty, feel free to change my appearance until I am unrecognizable. I will be fine at masking my personality though. As for Maruu... It's a free for all deal, though, if they sneak in through the stands, that will be Krika and Hergal's job. But if you're close enough, be my guest."

Argotem then voiced his final opinion and left the room, her eyes following her out.

"Now if there is no concerns, I will meet you all at the GBA at Seven AM sharp. Ember, use the training facilities as much as possible, and Beauty... I will need to talk to you the day before." She said with her confident voice. She then floated towards the door, expecting all to follow.

Argotem was levitating to Bes's room, in hopes of reasoning with him. For Argotem knew right away Bes wouldn't be willing to go on a "raid" with him any time soon. He reached Bes's door, knocked twice, and a few minutes later when nobody answered, Argotem "opened" the door to investigate. Expecting at least to see Bes slumped over his books, finally having parted from this world, Argotem was sorely disappointed.

"Where is he...?" Argotem mumbled under his breath. "I thought for sure he would be here. Well, I suppose I'll just leave a note for him." Argotem then propped the door back into its frame, and scratched into it,

Orion and Tox arrived together at the Trump Card headquarters, and saw the injured teammates.

"What happened here? Did I miss out on all the fun?" Orion laughed. His eyes turned to the injured Anju, and his smile turned to a worried frown. "You guys didn't run into some Legionnaires by any chance, did you?"

After hearing what had happened, Tox reached into a pack he had been carrying and brought out a plump, yellow fruit. "Take this sitrus berry. It will hopefully alleviate some of your pain," he assured, while handing it to the Kirlia.

After a few moments of chilling silence, Orion turned to Maruu and nodded, then walked away to his room. Tox stood for a minute, unsure, and then left for his room as well.

"Yeah, ice would be best." She said to the Raichu. Ice...I could make some now, but it may drain most of my energy that's left... She thought.

Orion and Tox had suddenly appeared. After explaining what had happened, Tox pulled out a Sitrus Berry and she took it. "Take this sitrus berry. It should help alliviate some of your pain," he said to her. He then followed Orion, they couldn't seem to be seperated.

Ember had run to the GBA, prepared with some Oran berries.

She didn't need any training...but she may as well try.

Opening the doors, she entered and discovered the training facilities, filled with stuffed mannequins of various enemies. Upon closer examination, they definitely weren't fireproof. She kicked and punched away at the dummies for hours.

Eventually, Ember got tired of mauling replicas. She waited outside the doors of the GBA, ready to put Titress's plans into action.

Bes came back, to see the door of his room unhinged, and with a message scratched in it.

Frankly, Bes was frightened. He immediately went to Titress with his concerns, which were just a few. when he arrived at Titress's office, he opened the door without knocking.

"Titress? Can I speak with you?"

He had been searching the city for a while, asking around if anyone knew about where he could find Trump Card. He was about exhausted from searching when he saw a glow out of the corner of his eye. Looking, he saw a large flame on the rooftops. Concerned, he walked over to check it out. By the time he was close to it most of the fire had dissipated with no signs of anyone in the area. Regardless he decided to look a little more. Upon rounding the corner he saw a group of pokémon. They appeared to be innocent. He walked towards them as two pokémon went somewhere away from the group.
He walked up seemingly unnoticed. He tapped the Raichu (Maruu) lightly. "Hey, do you know where I can find Trump Card?" Zoltea asked.

Side note:

Just a few criticisms on what I've read already.

1. Titress, I noticed your character seems to have a lot of truthful intuitions. Unless Titress knows her team really well, try to avoid these else it becomes Meta-Roleplaying, especially if your character acts on them.

2. Mawile - only one thing regarding the roof. You mentioned in a side note that you set the whole roof on fire in response to someone else saying it was coming toward them. Unless you set every square foot of the roof on fire, it will take time to spread. If you set every square foot of a large area like a roof on fire instantaneously, you're going to be drained of energy after doing so, especially if you have a young character. That much fire requires a lot of energy to spawn.

3. The talk of killing, didn't the rules in the sign-up say no killing?

Not trying to seem mean, just some things I noticed that give certain weighted advantages beyond realism. Just in the spirit of keeping things a little realistic and fair. ;P
