Why do I have the feeling this would be epic?

Because it would be. The gang are called to investigate a string of disappearances in a seaside town, which they believe to be the return of the diver ghost They follow him out to sea in a boat and end up attacked by the newest monstrous creation out of Rapture; the Big Brother. Daphne is killed and the rest of the gang descend into Rapture in a bathysphere to avenge her. As they journey through Rapture, they learn that Sander Cohen, thanks to his revival in a Vita-Chamber, has taken over Rapture and turning into his greatest masterpiece by having the Big Sisters, under the command of the Big Brother, kill everyone in the city and then arrange the corpses of all the formerly-living inhabitants of the city in dramatic poses before freezing the whole city solid. The gang start splicing plasmids in order to fight their way through the city to kill the Big Brother and escape before the Big Freeze sets in. They defeat the Big Brother but the bathysphere system gets shut down by Sander, so they go after him in order to reactivate it. They set up an elaborate trap and give Shaggy and Scooby a seemingly simple task which they nonetheless manage to screw up, though they still manage to capture Sander and reactivate the bathysphere system. The gang run to the bathysphere to escape but Fred stays back at the last minute; the plasmids have driven him mad and now he wants to reign over Rapture as its ADAM-powered king. Velma, Shaggy and Scooby return to the surface in the bathysphere, watching Fred extract the ADAM from Sander's body and laugh maniacally as they go.
