On this day two years ago, I managed to get the guy I liked from school home with me. It was technically his idea, since I don't do that sort of thing and that day was preceded by a week or two of subtle and not-so-subtle flirting that made the suggestion reasonably straightforward. Prior to this, he had kissed me, he had called me wonderful or sweet or something in that direction, I had said I'd loved him (because he'd petitioned the school to start teaching Japanese again), and I had sneakily managed to steer some conversations in such a direction that it was established that we had both broken up with our significant others. And he had insisted on hugging me every time something cute happened in the Ouran High School Host Club anime, which was a lot. And I'd slept on his shoulder at some point. But there was nothing between us. Really. Meanwhile, people in the Crushes thread at the previous incarnation at the forums had been trying to convince me that everything he did was guy signs and that I should do something about it.
We talked about quantum mechanics and the possibility of women taking over the world and keeping one man as a sex slave on the bus. The first thing he said when we entered my house was "Oh, hey, you have a piano!" He spent quite a while exercising his fingers on it while I tried to think about just what I was going to say. Eventually we went down to my room and at some point I blurted out that I'd had a crush on him for ages. I have no idea how this happened, since I don't do that sort of thing either.
The first thing he said was "On me?" My thought process descended into "oh dear there were no guy signs and I am doomed and he hates me and will never be able to look at me again", and then he told me to get over there and kiss him.
And they lived happily ever after.
So yeah. Shadey and I are having our second anniversary today, and we are even more madly in love now. :3
