• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open Dreams of the Past

Skaldia winced as she pressed harder. "So what was that whole trickery about being the Champion? If we were so digsuting, why order us around? And why, if she thinks I'm not dangerous, did she nearly kill me with that weapon of hers?!" Unfortunately for the Aerodactyl, being furious didn't work out when she was also injured, and Rasu's examination wasn't helping matters. With a pained screech, she stiffened and tried to keep from moving at all. Through gritted teeth, she made out, "Fuschia City? The slums?" There was audible relief in her voice. "It's not all as ruined?" At least, if it all wasn't as bad as this building, there was still hope.

After a long moment of silence and wincing, Skaldia sighed. "Tell your leader that... I am sorry. About her comr - about Atticus. I would be the same, if I lost someone close to me." Not that she ever had anyone close to her, but the human didn't need to know that! Lance didn't count - he was too weak-minded, in the end. Too compassionate. "And why are you different? You do not sound as if you hate my very existence."

((...Geez. I've lost track of this...So, from what I gather, there was a fight, someone died...and everyone is now spilt up?))

((Oops, sorry. Yes, there was a brief fight 'cause of Exo-Raikou's character, a human died and nearly everyone split up. You could have Halan lose track of things, if you want. ^^))

"I'm sorry this hurts... but I think your wing is broken..." She looked at the Aerodactyl, concerned. Then listened calmly to what she had to say. "...I'm not really sure why Mourmedy pretended to be the Champion... I was surprised. It... she seemed like a completely different person when commanding you.

"But these slums are most of the city, this is where most of its inhabitants live. Only a rich few can live in the upper town..."

Rasu continued to gaze at the Aerodactyl's wing with concern, her mind wandering to thoughts of Atticus and the city...

"The two of them were very close... They were 'mates', as you Pokémon would say. It wasn't really your fault though, there is no need to apologize... Nobody could've prevented his death. It's just that most of us don't have Mourmedy's intense passionate hatred for Pokémon."

((ok...))

Halan presses his paws to his eyes, trying to surpress the headache that brewed in his head.

"What...just happened?"

He remembers there being heat within the room, then the was opened. After that, a fight broke lose between the Dusknoir and the humans. He ran from the cave when he sensed the murderous aura of the human woman, escaping to the forest.

Now he sat next to a river and splashes water on his face, trying to clear his head.

"What...is going on...that woman...her aura..."

He sighs softly, looking to the sky. His memories brin him back to the years he was with his old trainer, staring at the very sky above him. A tear rolls down his face as he remembers all the time they had with each other.

"Why...why did you let me go..."

Skaldia hissed softly, an odd sound coming from a giant stone vulture. "Did she? She must be a good actor, then. She seemed like she would have been a good Champion... Far better than my old trainer." She tried to shift her weight, but the pain didn't ebb as she had hoped. "It feels broken. Can you heal things like this? Bones mend slowly enough, but underneath my hide, and being hollow, it'll take eternity." she grumbled. She couldn't quite understand why anyone would want a mate, let alone care for them when they died, but then again, she was a Rock-type. Maybe she wasn't supposed to feel anything.

"I suppose it's understandable to hate us, but with Pokemon, you humans could repair this building! Or build many better ones, quickly. I may be trained for battling, but some Rock and Ground types could help just this area become easier to live in!" She was earnest, eager to prove her kind weren't as dangerous as Mourmedy said they were.

Rasu smiled sadly. Oh, she was so idealistic.

"Mourmedy? Champion?" She laughed a bit, it just seemed to unreal. "I don't think something like that would ever be possible... Maybe she is a good actor."

"But we can't repair this building or the others in this city. And there is one reason. Money. Simple. There is just not enough to go around, the rich all hoard it. Nobody cares enough to renovate this place. Mourmedy has tried... she has tried hard to fix things up... to start a project of fixing the slums... but to no avail. And people... people wouldn't be so quick to accept the return of Pokémon. They may not hate your species as much as Mourmedy, but many of them have learned to fear them..."

"What you have to understand is that I'm a doctor of humans. I'm not so sure if I could even try to mend your wing... And the thing is... there are no more Pokémon doctors left." She frowned slightly, her face focused as she felt the Aerodactyl's torso.

((Oops, sorry. Yes, there was a brief fight 'cause of Exo-Raikou's character, a human died and nearly everyone split up. You could have Halan lose track of things, if you want. ^^))

(([sarcasm]Yay, i've been causing the problem[/sarcasm]))

The Dusknoir continued onward, eventually reaching...

Well, well, well. Look what we have here. I'm surprised that it's still standing. Look at it. Only a fraction of it remains at its grand "glory"

Still, if there's even a fraction left, then its worth investigating

Zrantox began to float toward what he'd found.

It's worth investigating. Looks like I'm about to have some fun...

Then perhaps the answers we seek are hidden within that city., Sinar said to the Salamence. It sped up with another polish, and quickly found itself at the edge of the city. Sinar stopped and looked around. It sensed a familiar mind. The Dusknoir. Sinar thought nothing of him, and crept into the city, probing the minds of the inhabitants, avoiding being seen by anyone who seemed remotely murderously against Pokemon. As Sinar crept through the streets, it got a lot of stares. Sinar ignored all as it searched for the Aerodactyl.

(Erk, didn't mean it like that. >< He was the one who attacked the humans, provoking Mourmedy into commanding, etc. Anyway, I'm sorry it came out like that.)

((I didn't find it offending, I just found it... funny for some reason.

No, i don't have a strange sense of humor...:sweatdrop:))

So this is what happens when the humans run rampant for too long...

sickening

The Dusknoir remained semi-invisible as he floated through; all any human would see was a very faint outline.

It should be enough to fool them

So where to start? It's big, it's semi-destroyed... where shoudl I begin in a palce like this?

As soon as Ancea finished her meal, she resumed her trek. She decided that she would go over the mountain and not through, since less humans would go over. The Kabutops began to hop up the ledges, looking out for any sign of humans.

((You mean around?))

Qua finally stood up and lumbered along, looking for a friend in the cave. Even a tiny Rattata would do. He shielded his eyes from the sunlight with one hand, and then let out a sad cry that could be heard from where Skaldia was. Its emotion and producer were all recognisable, too.
But of course, Qua knew nothing of this.
He continued through the land, not knowing nor caring where he was or was going.

((I'm assuming that Exo-Raikou's char is going to Fuschia City))

Esther stared at the Dusknoir as it departed towards the city. Turning back, she glanced at the cave. It may not have been the best time to hunt, but the new inhabitants that she would have to deal with later would probably take their share of any weak pokemon in the cave.

Turning again, this time to the forest, Esther kept a sharp eye out for anything edible. She wasn't sure of the population of the forest, but did know that there were pokemon in it.
