what? there are 5 pure dark-type pokemon. Two of them is poochy/mightyena, one is umbreon and another is a legendary (darkrai). The last is absol, which doesn't evolve. Then there are seven primary dark-dual types, which are the houndour, murkrow and sneasel families and sableye. Then there are 11 secondary dark-dual types (eight families, one of which is spiritomb). That's 23 pokemon. The smallest type is ghost, with 18 types, and then dragon with 19 types.

I can imagine if you were complaining about water pokemon or something, but dark is pretty under-represented. As it is, only six were added in generation IV, and three of those are evolutions to other dark types from a previous generation anyway.
 
When I first saw the revealed image and the name I thought "Zora's going to love this". Maybe I'm insane.
 
Seeing this gives me a lot of hope in the 5th gen, not that I had low expectations or anything, but DAMN, this is cool.

5th gen now reeks of awesomeness. If this is what they show first, I can't wait to see the rest of them!

okay, I'll calm down now. Zoroark is awesome, though. I mean, it's a dark-type monster/fox thing with awesome-looking hair. I hope they show us more Gen. 5 Pokémon soon, though, because my anticipation just increased a lot.

It's Kimimaro -- Pokemon version :D It's cute when it's little and awesome when it's older.

And I also need to see the movie.

Not for nothing, but they tend to show the 'kewl' ones first so the rest of the gen's additions get forgiven. <<;; I mean they showed Lucario first for 4th gen, everyone got hyped, and then all of a sudden we have.. Probopass and Bastiodon and Wormadam.
Albeit if Probopass gets an evolution featuring a goatee and maybe some bitchin' sunglasses I will highly approve but until then..

Still, I enjoy this. Hoping for a good Dark-type mixed sweeper as a sort of counterpart to Luca, really. We could use one.
Though I can't help but feel bad, there's already unbelievable amounts of porn of this guy. Don't ask me how I know this. But seriously there's rule 34 and there's- DAMN.

I'm not quite as instaloving it as a lot of people seem to be, but it's pretty cool.

What's with everyone going ":O THEY'RE SHOWING A COOL POKÉMON FIRST INSTEAD OF A CUTE ONE! HOMG HOW CAN IT BE?"? It really isn't a momentous event that the very first glimpse we get of the fifth generation happens to be something cool-looking instead of something cute-looking. If the fifth generation really is coming out before the end of this year, it's more that they've skipped the "pre-evo teaser" period entirely and jumped right to movies featuring them and so on.

I like Zorua (shouldn't it be Zoroa?) it's so cute
And I just have to love Zoroark even though I don't like its design much... it has started epic injokes on the other forum I go to

Daaaaamn, people sure do work fast. I mean, it's been what, all of 48 hours tops since this guy's been first revealed? :p

I for one am glad the first reveal isn't some shitty prevo or something. I hope we see a lot less of those with this gen.
