• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

D/P/Pt Small Platinum changes (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

darklight2222

Bask in the awesomeness of Piplup!
I made this thread to post any small and insignificant changes from D/P to Platinum. Nothing big, i.e.(looker, charon, distortion world, griseous orb, etc.)Also, if you don't like a change, feel free to put a frowny-face smiley by it.

Have fun posting!

Birds move up and down when you are confused.

Oreburgh has moving conveyor belts.

Some snow in various places.

Poketch has a slightly different design.

The town name that is shown as you walk into the town has little building pictures on it.

Floaroma has two brown archways.

Battle Zone has palm trees; Resort Area has a pond with level 1-100 Magikarp; all wild Pokemon in the Battle Zone are of the same level range (wild level 52 Pidgey!); blah blah plot changes; GTS search selects ranges of ten levels rather than x0 and up....

Eterna Forest has dark mists.

Stark Mountain and such have black rock.

Shining badges takes a shorter time.

Cycling Road has two tunnels.

Galactic Eterna Building has 4 floors.

Galactic Eterna Building has rotating disc on the outside.

There are shadows and mists
The wifi thing shows pikachu and that squirrel thing
Jubalife and hearthrone have differant floor stuff

^get on wifi

all wild Pokemon in the Battle Zone are of the same level range (wild level 52 Pidgey!)

Actually, the Lv.52 Pidgeys were in Diamond and Pearl too.

For some reason it was only the Spearows and Rattatas (and maybe a few others that I can't remember--Diglett in the desert area?) that were in the 20's, while all the other unevolved things were in the 40's/50's (getting level 50+ Beldum swarms and level 50+ Trapinches with the radar was especially ridiculous.)

Does anyone else find it hilarious that the first wild Lv. 1 Pokemon ever is a legendary and the first wild Lv. 100 Pokemon is a Magikarp?

The kid who calls you a n00b as you walk into Oreburgh for the first time no longer calls you a n00b. :(

Pidgeys were swarms, though, right? Now they're not, I think.

All of those are now level 50+ now! Bellsprout, Oddish, Spearow, Rattata, Diglett, etc...~

Pidgeys were always swarms.

I'll catch a Karp when I get far enough for the lulz....and maybe challenge the league!

Trees look slightly different.

Short grass looks a bit different.

So does tall grass.

Backsprites are animated.

Trainers have three frames of animation.

HP bar area is black and differently designed.

In Pastoria city there's a little stand-up of a Croagunk with a hole for its face that you can put your head in :D!

Razor Leaf has a different animation now. Hidden Power looks different too (better, I think.)

And the new GTS music reminds me of Startropics for some odd reason.

I'm not sure, but I think Signal Beam has a different animation.

Also, this isn't a change, but I found something interesting. You CAN make a steel type poisoned. Evolve a non-steel type into a steel type while it's poisoned. It makes the steel type poisoned. I wonder if that will work for others (paralysis-ground type, poison-poison type, burn-fire type, frozen-ice type)?

(ground types can be paralysed from non-electric paralysis attacks like stun spore)

you need defog in the lost tower which also has some aesthetic changes
amity square lets you walk with the sinnoh starters and it's been redesigned

This sounds similar to how you can get a poisoned Poison-type: use a Ditto (or Mew) and transform into one after you're poisoned.

I'm guessing the only way to burn a fire-type/freeze an ice-type (other than transforming) would be using the Eevee evolutions of those types. Or Dewgong/Cloyster, for freezing (since Seel and Shellder aren't Ice-type.)

Gardenia's gym has a floral clock that you can walk across.

And for some reason, Burmy's type matchups seem changed. Razor Leaf is not-very-effective on the sandy-cloaked one, and Confusion is neutral on the pink-cloaked one.

The guy in Veilstone that spoke English in the Japanese version of D/P but was deleted in the English version of D/P is in the English version of Platinum. Except he speaks French now. :P

Also, alot of NPCs have been added.

You can only scan every couple of seconds in the Underground for some reason. I hate not being able to do it immediately! Also the screen doesn't turn balck when you scan.

I thought that status conditions were eliminated after evolution.
