• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

DQ: Standard week
Damage Cap: 30%
Banned Moves: OHKO's, direct healing moves
Arena: World Civilization Classroom

A standard high-school classroom; you know, with the desks-attached-to-chairs. Unfortunately, though, they're still scattered across the room, and may need moving.

Every round, there is a 10% chance that the teacher will come in and watch the battle for a few turns. Every action, he has a 20% chance of scolding one of the Pokemon on the battlefield, causing the attack damage to lower by 3%.
Other: Well, seeing as there's no swimming room, you can't really have Pokemon that must be in water, can you?

Arena: Sandy Beach[day]

A small, sandy beach. The sea beside the beach usually has calm waves but they can grow big very suddenly. The weather is sunny automatically.

Each round there is a 10% chance that the waves will grow bigger and wash onto the beach. This will hurt all fire and steel Pokemon to an extent. Pokemon afraid of water will not be hurt but will become less confident for the match.

Arena: Hangman's Hill

Hangman's Hill is a vast and tall hill outside a now-abandoned town, the gentle slopes covered in grass. Long ago masses of townspeople gathered here to watch the execution of criminals and heretics and traitors. The tall wooden platform brings even more attention to the centrepiece of this display: a triangle supported at each corner, from which multiple people could be hanged.

There is a large design on the platform, created with blood: a game of hangman, with only one arm missing.

The hill has been the site of several recent murders; though the main gallows are untouched save for the blood, fresh corpses hang from recently-constructed inverted L's scattered around the hill. Each corpse is missing an arm, and the stump has been cauterised.

Taking, will put up sometime this weekend but uh busy now.

If a battle takes less time to complete (like our 1v1), it'll be more likely to be reffed.

And complaining about needing a ref tends to make refs not want to do your battle as fast.

it's best just to be patient.

Refs are under no obligation to choose the battles that have been waiting the longest (and there are plenty of people who have been waiting a lot longer than you have); they can choose whatever battles they like. And while it is polite to take battles that have been waiting longer or involve people who haven't had a chance to play at all yet, and I, at least, generally try to do that, it also comes down to level of interest. Refs are busy and have plenty of other things to attend to, and they aren't likely to want to take battles that don't interest them. If I'm not motivated to actually ref your battle it isn't going to be any better than if I hadn't taken it at all.

Arena: The Great Marsh

The Great Marsh is a wet, damp area of flat land that is home to many Water and Ground-types. The grass is wet and soggy. Don't get caught in the mud, or you might have trouble moving! The rain pelting the arena makes water moves do 2% more damage, after all other calculations. The rain also causes Fire moves to do 2% less damage, after all other calculations. There are many shallow puddles in the arena, along with a big, rectangular pond in the middle. The arena is surrounded by trees, and battlers may not go past the forest boundary, but they may use the closest trees in any way that will not severely damage them. The only mud, luckily, is shallow, and makes a sort of border around the pond on all sides except the south. There is also a large, deep patch of mud on the east side. When moves are used in these patches, if they are mud-based (Mud Bomb, Mud Shot, Mud-Slap, Muddy Water), they do 2% more damage after all other calculations. Magnitude and Earthquake, if used in these patches, will have their power decreased by 2%, after all other calculations.
Other: No Pokémon over 30 kilograms in weight, unless they are Flying-type or have the ability Levitate, for they would sink in the mud.

Arena: Spartan Pit

This is the pit that King Leonidas kicked the Persian messenger down in the hit film 300. The pit is set in ancient Spartan stone, with several buildings surrounding and a road leading down towards it. In the blazing Mediterranean sun, fire type moves and other moves affected by sunlight have their power boosted by 5%. At random intervals, King Leonidas comes along and kicks someone random down the pit. It could be anybody! George Bush, Jesus Christ, Harry Potter, the list goes on! The sight of Leonidas' ruthlessness unnerves the Pokémon, lowering their defence and special defence by 1 each.

Ok...from what I can tell...this is either a team of two fighting a another team of two..or it's a free for all.

Either way, I'd like to join this battle

Arena: Viking Camp

This arena is a grassy hilltop, with tents from the Viking era placed all around, with genuine Vikings sitting outside getting drunk and telling stories and all that. If a Pokemon is knocked into the cloth of the tents, damage is lowered by 2% from the soft landing, whereas if they get knocked into the wooden part the damage increases by 2% unless they hit it headfirst, then it's an extra 1% on top of that and a bout of confusion. The weather is generally cloudy, but sometimes the sun shines exceptionally bright and gives a 2% bonus to fire-type attacks and other assorted sun-based moves, and lasts about six rounds, nine if you're lucky. However, knowing the weather in the region, it's far more likely to rain, giving the same bonus to water types for about three rounds. Occasionally, a Saxon attack force comes to fight the Vikings, with swords and stuff. If their weaponry hits a Pokemon, report them to PETA. Now. Oh, and the Pokemon gains 4% damage. Pokemon that are small enough (like one and a half feet tall and smaller) are likely to get stampled, giving them 5% damage. The assault on the Vikings lasts nine rounds, unless it goes into extra time then it's twelve rounds. The dead bodies left behind by the attack rot quickly, causing a great stench in six rounds and decomposing completely in fifteen. They can serve as extra platforms, however. And of course, the Vikings can get completely drunk and do... well drunkardly things. They do anything that's in their power during the six rounds that they're drunk, causing effects that the ref decides. Of course, if they commit a crime, the police will come and arrest those involved in three to six rounds, providing a police car for your Pokemon to get dirty with their paws. Lucky you!

no-one's gonna accept this because of the arena are they also this is my profile
