Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Arena: Chao Colosseum

Based off of the Chao Garden from SA2B, this garden will be holding a Pokemon battle while under the temporary name, Chao Colosseum. Chao of all kinds will be watching, and some may interfere with the battle...

Every 3 turns, a Chao will make its presence on the battle stage. If it's a Hero Chao, it will randomly select a Pokemon to be healed by 5% in both Health and Energy. If it's a Neutral Chao, there is a 70% chance that the Chao will shield the the defending Pokemon from the attack of the Pokemon that moves first. If it's a Dark Chao, there is a 50/50 chance that it will either poison or take 5% in both Health and Energy from a randomly selected Pokemon. For each of the possible Chao, there is a 10% chance that it will be a Chaos Chao of that alignment. Hero Chaos Chao will instead heal by 15%, Neutral Chaos Chao have a 90% chance of shielding the defending Pokemon, and Dark Chaos Chao will either inflict bad poisoning or take 15% in Health and Energy.

I'm ref-happy (read: high on the fact that I got approved) today, so I'll also take Empoleon vs. Prettzel. Should be up in an hour or so.

2vs2 single
Style: Switch
DQ: a month
Damage Cap: 30%
Banned Moves: OHKO's, chills limited to 5 per Pokémon
Arena:Halloween Temple
The Halloween Temple is an old abandoned building, where ghosts thrive. There are bars jutting out form every which way. A dark shadow falles over everything.Crumbing steps lead to a huge empty cauldron. Cobwebs litter the floors.
Of course, Ghost-Types love to be with peers, so they get +1 acuraccy.
Every three rounds, either a Gastly, Haunter, or Gengar swoops around, and any non-Ghost types get -1, -2 or -3 Defense, respetivly. Part-Normal or Full Normal types, however, are not affected, because of their natural immunity. The Pokemon can use the ragged and ripped-up envirenment to advantage.

I accepts. I've been itching for a battle for quite a while.

^Hn...I'll reff your match.

But on the meantime....

1 vs. 1
Single
DQ: 1 week (unless notified)
Damage Cap: none
Banned Moves: OHKO's, Earthquake, Surf, and mud based moves due to the arena and Direct Healing moves ex: Synthesis, Aqua Ring, etc.
Arena: Voldo's Money Pit
A platform with gold scattered about the floor of floral and crucificial designs. There is a roughly about 2000 gold coins in hills and multiple ones all over the floor. During an action, a Pokemon is allowed to "Collect" and this raises the amount of money earned after the battle. The platform is disconnected from the rest of the stairways and only the long sides of the platform have cemented railings. The ends the trainers stand on has no railings and if a Pokemon happens to get knocked off of the platform, it loses 25% health. The rails on the longer ends can be broken as well and may serve as the shorter ends do too. It's lighting is dim and there appears to be someone watching you.

Gold: Serves as places to dig but cannot serve as a tunnel, just a temporary hideout.
"Collect": A Pokemon can use it twice per round and drops the money by the reff where baskets lay for each trainer
^A Pokemon can collect from 5 to 20 coins
5->Opposing Pokemons attack accuracy is raised by 1
10->Opposing Pokemons attack accuracy is raised by 2
15->Opposing Pokemons attack accuracy is raised by 3
20->Opposing Pokemons attack accuracy is 100%
(This is all due to the Pokemon who is collecting, being much slower so that the gold collected is safe and sound.)
*For every 5 coins is +10 on the total money recieved after the battle. So divide total of gold by 5 and add it to regular earnnings.*
NOTE: Victor of the battle can choose which basket to take (Most likely will take losers money if loser collected more)

Railings: Both have 15% health each meaning that if either one reaches 15% damage or more, it will fall off.

Open Gaps: Falling through one is -25% health

Kindling Queen, I accept your challenge.

Oh, and this may come in handy.

Quote the challenge you're accepting so that battle conditions and both profiles are in one post.

And to those of you accepting battles for more than two players: please also quote the post of the person who accepted before you, not the original poster, for the same reason.

I'm in the mood for huge, incredibly convoluted death traps, so...

3v3 Single
Set
DQ Time: 1 week
Damage Cap: 42% damage
Banned/Restricted Moves: no OHKOs, Protects 2/Pokémon, Chills 7/Pokémon.
The Open Colosseum
This is an arena, open to trainers and Pokémon to battle and watch, is where the battle will take place. There is no admission fee, and so Pokémon and trainers can simply watch right in to spectate. However, everyone has favorites, and when the crowd gets jumpy, things happen...

A couple of crowds can spectate, observe the following chart for the effects. Every two rounds, the crowd changes.

-A crowd of normal Trainers: Can cheer a Pokémon for +1 Attack, or throw soda cans at a Pokémon for 1% damage and -1 Speed. This is the default setting.
-A crowd of old Gym Leaders: Will demand that the battle style be switched to R/S/E mechanics. New moves and new Pokémon are allowed, but the physical/special split goes bye-bye.
-A crowd of Bronzong: Will cast an unbreakable Trick Room over the area for the two rounds they're there.
-A crowd of Clefairy: Will cast an unbreakable Gravity over the area for their tenure.
-A crowd of Castform: Will change the weather for two rounds. It is less likely that they will use Sandstorm than the others.
-A crowd of Absol: These tricky Pokémon will Snatch away all stat boosts from both sides for two rounds.
-A crowd of Primeape: Whenever an attack (or Pokémon) hits the bleachers, a Primeape will hit the offender for 15% damage.
-A crowd of Ditto: Will transform into a random crowdmember (even humans) every two actions for their two-round time in the stands.
-Mewtwo: Will create the illusion of a crowd of humans at first, with their effects. Then, on the last action of his crowd time, he appears and releases a devastating Hyper Beam to both Pokémon, dealing 17% damage and with a 45% chance of severe confusion.

There is a 12% chance of each crowd occuring (INCLUDING the current one repeating itself), except for Mewtwo. Mewtwo has a 4% chance of occuring. And reoccuring. Poor Mewtwo...:freaked:

Aditionally, a small pool can be opened up in the center, for water Pokémon usage.

Since I only have one battle going...
1 vs. 1 single
DQ Time: Standard Week
Damage Cap: 25%
Banned Moves: OHKOs; moves that require the ground to use(Earthquake, Ingrain, Earth Power, etc.); direct healing moves except Rest
Area:Bubbly Clouds
The arena is a platform of impossibly solid clouds in an equally improbable breathable atmosphere. The arena measures about six meters across, and any pokemon that somehow gets pushed over the edge receives 40% damage which ignores the damage cap. Flying moves get a 1% power boost at this high altitude, and since you're above the clouds, the only weather move that actually does anything is Rain Dance-which simply causes the cloud to be charged with electricity, doing 5% electric damage to each pokemon in the middle of each round.
Except for the first round, at the beginning of each round, Kracko Jr. has a thirty percent chance of appearing at the very beginning of each round and dropping three to four bombs in the general direction of the fighters. The bombs have a base power of 55 and are typeless, although ghosts will take half as much damage from them.

(Nobody is going to take this, are they?)

Banned Moves: OHKO's; anything else is fair game

Arena: Outside the Battle Arena

The battle takes place right outside the Battle Frontier's Battle Arena facility, out in the open air. The immediate area is covered in nicely manicured grass and a few flowers. The Arena building itself is surrounded on three sides by water and a small pond sits on the other side of the battlers, so water moves can be used and Water-types that need to swim can do so. The battlers cannot move away from the immediate area, so heading towards the plaza or another facility is forbidden. Maps of the general area can be found on this page.

Since this match is happening so close to the Arena, it seems such a shame not to follow Greta's rules... or, at least, a variation on them. As such, both battlers will send out their Pokémon and attack for three battle rounds (a total of 9 attacks per Pokémon) before the ref calls a halt. After the three rounds both Pokémon are recalled and unable to continue in the current battle, and their current health, energy and status are noted for later. Both trainers will then send out their next Pokémon and continue for the next three rounds. At the end (which should be nine total rounds), the health and energy of all Pokémon is totaled and whichever trainer has the highest score wins.

The following rules also apply:

-If a Pokémon has fainted, either due to HP loss OR energy loss, the battle stops right where it is (even if it has not yet been three rounds) and both Pokémon are recalled. Fainted Pokémon DO still count toward the final score, but as either their health or their energy is at 0% they won't add anywhere near as much.

-If, at the end of the three rounds, a battler is afflicted with a status condition, that condition detracts from their final score as follows:

  • Paralyzed, Burned, Confused: -10 points
  • Poisoned, Attracted: -15 points
  • Asleep, Frozen: -20 points
If the Pokémon has more than one status condition, only the first one they were afflicted with detracts full points; all others afterwards only detract five, no matter what they are.

Experience is determined like this: all Pokémon get the usual 1 experience point for being sent into battle, and if one Pokémon actually knocks another out it will get the 1 experience point as normal. If neither Pokémon faints at the end of three rounds, the one with the lower score is considered knocked out for the purposes of experience and so the one with the higher score would get the extra 1 exp.
