• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Dropping me vs. I liek Squirtles. How would I go about ending it, we've both agreed?

Ahem.

1vs1 single battle
DQ: four days, okay?
Damage Cap: NONE HAHAHAHA
Banned Moves: NONE AGAIN :D :D
Arena: Distortion World

The battlers are taking it to Giratina's realm, folks! Dawn caught Giratina and its trust, and it gratefully opened it for her and the battlers. Now, the trainers battle over several small floating platforms in a place where the rules of space and time are distorted. Nearby is a waterfall crashing... upside down, and below is an infinite spiral of who knows what. Dialga and Palkia are irritated that Giratina opened up this area to little kids, and so are battling... each other just outside the opening? Geez. Anyway, because of the weird space and time thing, slower and/or heavier Pokémon strike first. If a Pokémon is pushed off the platform, it spends an action and base 4% energy trying to get back up onto the platform or possibly another. Giratina is trying to get Dialga and Palkia out of the way so that they leave the little creatures (humans) alone, periodically. Oh yeah, Shaymin's there in its Land Forme. Goodness knows what it's doing.

5% chance each round that Dialga will fire the Roar of Time far below the battlers; the damage will be 10% damage to all Pokémon, but the trainers will be allowed to grab them to prevent falling off.

10% chance each action that Palkia will use Spacial Rend, which deals no damage but negates said action's moves and effects because everyone's trying to overcome a wave of nausea.

5% chance every two rounds that Giratina will decide to intervene and use Ominous Wind on those darned creatures. This sweeps Pokémon that are 50 pounds or over off the field, causing them to try to get back up.

15% chance every round that Shaymin will use Aromatherapy to make everyone shut up with kindness.

These can be combined, by the way.

yeah this battle will end fast if anyone actually accepts it

You. Are. On.

(and I know just who i'll be using!)

I've never done an ASB battle before, ever, so I'd prefer a less experienced opponent.
3vs3 single
Style: Set
DQ: 7 days
Damage Cap: 40%
Banned Moves: OHKO, Direct healing
Arena: The Fairly Boring Arena

The Fairly Boring Arena is a gymnasium of average size. There is a small pool of water in the center. Most of the floor is covered in floorboards, but a ten-foot-wide strip of boulder-strewn earth borders the arena.

I'm pretty new too. Let's go!

I feel like we're trainers waiting for another trainer to walk in front of them.

Posting a challenge! Because it totally doesn't feel weird using my first ever post to do this.

3v3 single
Style: switch
DQ: standard week
Damage cap: 35%
Banned moves: OHKOs

Arena: Generic uncreative field

It's a field. There is grass and trees. A small pond is provided for aquatic Pokémon.

go go go

Kinda new though

2 vs. 2 single
Style: Set
DQ: 12 days
Damage Cap: 35%
Banned Moves: OHKO, Direct Healing, Sleeping moves
Arena: Marine cave

A cave, in the middle there's a small lake with pure as crystal water that reflects a blue clear light, there are several rocks around, some of them are big.

A whirlpool may occur, any aquatic pokemon inside the lake would take 5% damage

I assume "sleeping moves" means "moves that cause sleep" and not "moves you can use while asleep." If that's the case, I'll take you on.

4 VS. 4 double
DQ: 1 week
Style: Switch
Damage Cap: 37%
Banned Moves: OHKO moves
Field: Pointless Rules
A normal Pokemon battlefield with water sources. There are some strange rules for this battle.
Rule 1. All instances of the digit 3 are now 5. Ex. 37=57
Rule 2. All battle commands must be given in rhyming couplets.
Rule 5. No Normal typed Pokemon may be used.
Rule 4. Whenever a Pokemon faints, all other active Pokemon get a TF2 hat of their choice to wear. These do nothing.
Rule 5. At the beginning of each round, there is a 10% chance that a Pokemon will become a random form of Deoxys.
Rule 6. Whenever a Pokemon becomes Deoxys, all Pokemon with hats double their current energy.
Rule 7. Fire types are water types instead.

My sig moves: http://forums.dragonflycave.com/showpost.php?p=491368&postcount=23

Sounds quite cool. I'm in.

2vs2 double
DQ: 7 days
Style: Set
Damage Cap: 45%
Banned Moves: OHKO moves, Perish Song, direct healing
Field: Pokemon Stadium #2

A simple stadium with a hard packed dirt floor and a large pool of water forming a moat around it. The dirt only goes about three feet down before it hits concrete. The roof has been retracted for flying Pokemon to go wild, and it's slightly cloudy (treated as neutral weather). People sit in the bleachers around the stadium, waiting for a battle to begin.

A small machine has been set up in the corner of the stadium, which spews out a fine mist layer (about a centimeter thick) that almost completely covers the ground and surface of the water. All Pokemon that touch it immediately undergo a temporary evolution to their final stage, which lasts until they faint. So effectively, all Pokemon become their final stage for this battle. There's a high, raised platform for the trainers and referee to stand on so they won't be affected by the mist.

Other: No fully evolved or non-evolving Pokemon.
