• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

The CoD Monotype Challenge

This morning I started a Fire mono on Emerald, and so far I have a level 25 combusken called Grelek. I have two badges, and am currently on my merry way to Mauville. The bulk of my team will come from Fiery Path D: Hence why I need to pound Wattson's ass into his yellow floor to get everyone else.

Also started a grass mono on my Sapphire. I have a shroomish, treeko and lombre. Planning on getting a cradily, cacturne and tropius when the oppertunity arrises. Right now I just barely beat Roxanne (I'm underleveled in this file) and am now training like a feind.

I have a water mono on my Gold from about a month ago, which is currently against Koga in the E4. Don't really remember my team off the top of my head and can't find Gold at the moment D:

^ Mine are all stored carefully in a case. My games are all either in a carry case[fits games and consoles kind] or in the playing slot. No where else is acceptable for me. If I ever lost my game data I'd use Gameshark to Shark it to the same point as it was before :D

^ I try to do that, but soon forget and something gets itself missing. Not too bad for me, though, I know where Silver and Crystal are, and Gold'll show up eventually.

Yeah, so I decided to update on my challenge(s) thus far.

SILVER MONO TEAM:
Name: Asphalt
Badges: 3
Type: Ground
Location: Route 36
Time: 4:56

Sandshrew
[M]
Level 11
-Scratch
-Defense Curl
-Sand Attack

Quagsire
[M]
Level 22
-Water Gun
-Headbutt
-Slam
-Tail Whip

Graveler
[M]
Level 25
-Rollout
-Defense Curl
-Rock Throw
-Magnitude

Current Status: The first three gyms were incredibly easy, I expect that Morty or whatever his name is will be just as easy (3 Ground types versus tons of Poison/Ghost types with not that great defense. It will be easy). My entire team almost got wiped out by a Tangela, but I defeated it with a Spearow that happened to be on my team (Though I shouldn't have used the Spearow :sweatdrop:). Geodude evolved and doesn't look as awesome as he did before. I'm debating whether I should add a Nidoking or not.

To Do List:
  • Train Sandshrew up a bit
  • Defeat Morty
  • Decide whether or not to get a Nidoking
  • Think of a strategy to defeat grass-types.
EMERALD MONO TEAM:

Name: Misty
Badges: 2
Type: Water
Location: Dewford
Time: 3:22

Marshtomp
[M]
Level 16
Torrent
-Tackle
-Mud Shot
-Mud Slap
-Water Gun

Wingull
[F]
Level 19
Keen Eye
-Water Gun
-Wing Attack
-Supersonic
-Growl

Current Status: Roxanne was easy, of course, and Brawly was simple to beat the second time around. Now I need to deliver the letter to Steven and then I'll be on my way to Slateport. Yayeth.

To Do List:
  • Start playing Emerald again, since I haven't played a good 5 minutes of it in about 3 weeks.
  • Deliver the letter
  • Get through Slateport
DIAMOND MONO TEAM:

Name: AWESOME
Badges: 2
Type: Water
Location: Veilstone
Time: 9:01

Empoleon
[M] Mr. Squish
Level 37
Torrent
-Pound
-Pluck
-BubbleBeam
-Brine

Whiscash
[F]
Level 30
Oblivious
-Water Gun
-Magnitude
-Mud Bomb
-Water Pulse

Remoraid
[F] iProzac
Level 20
Sniper
-Lock-On
-Psybeam
-Aurora Beam
-BubbleBeam

Azumarill
[F]
Level 22
Huge Power
-Tail Whip
-Rollout
-Water Gun
-BubbleBeam

Current Status: It took me half and hour and four Marill to find one with Huge Power, but now I have it (And evolved it). I ditched the Bibarel and Mr. Squish evolved shortly afterwards. Then I caught a Barboach, soon after that I went to Pastoria and got iProzac and Marill. Now I need to train iProzac, because he alone cannot defeat Veilstone gym.

To Do List:
  • Evolve iProzac
  • Train Azumarill and teach it some physical moves
  • Defeat Veilstone Gym
  • Wait a long time before catching a Mantyke

I bought a new Pearl Version today, because I lost my old one. I am doing a Water Monotype. Just got the Oreburgh Gym Badge:

Bubble Water Sport

Killa (Magikarp) Lv 13
Male Gentle Nature
Moves:

Droplet (Horsea - my sister gave me an egg) Lv 13
Femal Bold Nature
Moves:
Water Gun
Brine
Agility
Twister

Finished my Emerald fire mono, and I added a houndour at the end just for shits and giggles. I found my Gold with my water mono on it, so I may continue that or restart my other Emerald (I have two) and do a fighting mono on it.

Another option is that I may get LG either today or some time this week, and I may do some kind of mono on that. I'm thinking either electric (with a doomchu for a while o_O) or flying. We'll see how that works out for me.

I was also thinking about re-restarting my Sapphire and doing a ground mono. Might be interesting there. *shrug* I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands over the next three weeks, so hey!

I think i might do this on Diamond with Poison
Pokemon
Dustox
Gengar
Toxicroak
Crobat
Skuntank
Roserade

EDIT: Started with Turtwig.
Searching for Budew.
Found Zubat instead.
My Team
Zubat Lv. 4
