Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.
Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.
Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?
Dear Victoria,
Congratulations! The YAM Flag design submitted by your student Greaser Lala was selected as the winner for NY and will be created into the flag that will represent New York at both the NAEA Conference and will fly in Washington DC. To continue with this process we will need some further information from you and Greaser Lala. Please have Greaser Lala complete a brief summary of "What Art Means to Me." E-mail me back her summary with the following information:
Student Flag Designer for the state of New York

Also SAVE THE DATE: The National Youth Art Month Flag Event Ceremony, to honor the state YAM Flag Designers will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at 1:00 PM. The ceremony will be held at the Rayburn House Office Building , Gold Room (2168), Independence Avenue and South Capital Street , Washington , DC . Formal invitations will be sent out as we near the event. It is not mandatory to attend, but offers a great opportunity for the student to see their flag design in the nation's capital.
As the teacher of the winning student, please do your best to publicize the student's selection as winner and Youth Art Month itself. Begin with your district (principal, superintendent, BOE) and then contact as many elected officials as you can. Donnalyn or I can send you out a sample press release form to use. If you can contact your local officials and try to get some photos of the student with the officials. We are trying to get a smaller version of the flag printed for you to use in photo opportunities. Listed below are some of your elected officials and a link to find others. If there is a community relations person in your district, contact them as they may be able to help you as well.
Congratulations once again to you and your student! Please do not hesitate to contact Donnalyn or myself with any questions.
