Open The Hunt for The Ceus Stone

Horus narrowed his eyes as he saw the Porygon2 turn around.

"Malum? I think-"

"I know." The Bronzong started forward, and as he did so, he sent Horus a telekinetic message:

If you so much as say a single word to either of them, I will pulverize every bone in your body. Got it?

Horus nodded.

Good. Now follow me.

Knowing that he had very little choice, Horus flew forward even as Malum said: "Greetings, travelers. What, pray tell, would bring you to this isolated corner of the known world?"

From on top of the tree, Krae was smirking at the Porygon2. Now, I am one stop closer to finding the stone. Then, he heard the Porygon2's notion. He grinned. He crouched and whispered in his new partner's 'microphone'.

"Yes, but wait for my call." he whispered.

He turned his attention to the Bronzong. "Well, we are looking for something. And what pray tell are you doing here, in this little corner of the world?" He saw in his peripheral vision the Staraptor flying forward. What are they up to?

"Us? My feathered friend here is an archaeologist. He told me something about some ancient ruins up north that were connected to my species' beginning. I'm just tagging along in hopes that there will be something up there worth finding. He, of course, hopes to find various archaeological finds that the likes of you couldn't begin to understand.

"Now then," He said, floating away, "we'll be on our way."

Horus regarded the Lucario. What Malum said wasn't entirely false, but the Staraptor hoped that he wouldn't pick up on what Malum did and didn't lie about.

Because if he does, he thought, flying toward Malum, this could get really nasty, really soon.

Vaguely offended, Glee said in his answering-machine voice, "Error, zztt. This unit is up-to-date on any and all pertinant archaeological information."

With a recorded-looking disdainful look (which the Porygon2 had picked up from his former master) at the retreating form of the Steel-type, the mechanized 'mon turned away from the irritating Bronzong.

"Subject appears to be in need of peer counseling," said Unit G-133 as huffily as his rather out-of-date voice synthesizer allowed.

"Yes, apparently so..." Krae responded.

He looked ahead as he saw the Bronzong and the Staraptor flying and floating away. He knew that their venture was more then just looking for the answers for the past of its species. The bird looked... nervous. As if they were hiding something... Maybe it's about the Ceus Stone!

"Hey, Glee, I say we follow them. It might provide clues on to what we are looking for. And if worst comes to worse... I'll take on the Bronzong, if possible."

Only when Malum and Horus had moved farther away from the two pokemon did Horus dare speak.

"Do you think they bought it?" he whispered.

"No," Malum said coldly, "if anything, they know now the location of the Stone."

"You really think that they could draw that much out of that lie?"

"Yes, I do," Malum said in his usual emotionless tone, "It helped that I deliberately mentioned the ruins up North."

Horus was so shocked he stopped flapping. The Staraptor dropped down, and barely flapped back up before he would have hit the ground. "Y-you deliberately-!?"

"Yes," Malum said, as calmly as if he were discussing the weather, "Think like I do, Horus. It's clear that many pokemon are going after the Stone. Too many, really. It's probably for the best that I spill the location to any enemies. That way, we can sit back and watch them tear each other to pieces as they scramble for the Stone!"

Horus seemed taken aback, mostly because Malum had used "we" in his plan.

Does he expect me to follow through? I want to get the Stone, but wouldn't want to kill for it.

Does he want me to kill for it?

Horus decided that he couldn't answer that.

He was too scared of the answer.

"Affirmative, Krae," The Porygon2's voice was tinny.

Accessing Move: Conversion. Move selected: Nightmare. Copying Ghost-type energy signature...

Glee's colors became muted and grey, his red turning a dull maroon and the blue becoming the color of a desert sky.

"Ghost-type changes complete," Glee announced, turning semitransparent as he spoke.

He grinned. "Excellent. Now come on, let's go Glee."

He leap off of the branch and landed in a dull thud. Then he dashed off, hoping his partner would keep up. He was pretty sure the part about ancestry was bogus. They found clues and has a lead there. But was the Bronzong lying about that to? said a voice in his nagged at the back of his head. He shook his head. He was sure about it. Maybe almost to a fault.

Pointing his head out in front of him, the newly-ectoplasmic Glee zoomed forward, legs rotating into a near-blur. The Lucario was slightly faster than he, but Glee accepted that. His limitations would virtually disappear once he got his upgrade.

Hmm. Bad puns? Glee's Humor Regulator must have been on the fritz.

"I detected signs of falsehood from the Bronzong. Do you concur, partner?"

Lux murmurs in her sleep, coiling around her Father's shoulders a bit tighter. She rests her head on his and slowly opens her eyes to peer out to where she was this time. From what she could guess, they weren't very far than before.

"Dad...are we leaving now...?"

She glances to her side and notices that Ride was still with them. She smiles a bit at him and settles more on her father's shoulders.

"I hope I'm not too heavy..."

What is that giant bell thinking?

"I detected signs of falsehood from the Bronzong. Do you concur, partner?" he heard his partner say, distracting him from his train of thought.

"Hm? Oh, yes, I do. He is hiding something. Perhaps something big..."

((Time for some RP-CPR))

"Yes, he could be hiding something, as Bronzong are hollow and can contain a large amount of...zztt....I apologize for my lack of understanding. You meant 'something' as in something insubstantial, like a secret, yes? I concur."

Glee zipped forward, information on how to phase through objects downloaded directly into him. The Porygon2 slipped through a treebranch, his ghostly energy signature allowing him to do so.

Joshua glanced at his precious daughter with a smile, petting her smooth skin gently. He didn't mind carrying her. His precious Luxy, his baby girl, his only family left. He kissed the top of her head gently.

"Yes, we're going. You have your friend here to keep you company, and to watch you when I am gone...does that sound good?" He purred, turning back to the northward path.

This was the first time he'd had help with his Luxy... The Zangoose frowned a bit, worried, but shook it off. This Breloom; he could trust him. And if he tried anything, he could just as easily kill him. The mongoose Pokemon sighed.

"No worries," Ride said to the Turtwig. The Zangoose and his Seviper were quickly disappearing into the forest, and the Lucario had left with what seemed to be a blue and pink thing that Ride couldn't name. "Anyhow, gotta get going. That Zangoose won't be happy if I left Luxy," the Breloom said and, with a nod, bounced away.

He quickly caught up with the two pairs and slowed to a walk. The Zangoose didn't seem to be very happy -- he seemed to be always sighing and attacking random pokemon due to paranoia. Ride opened his mouth to say something, but decided not to at the Zangoose's troubled look. He didn't want to add to the Zangoose's worries any more than he had to.

"Yeah...I guess. But Dad, i don't need to be watched 24/7. There are times when I feel great you know..."

Lux closes her eyes a bit, calming down more as her father pets the top of her head gently.
She let out a soft hiss, coiling her body tighter around her father. She opens one eyes and looks at Ride, smiling a bit at him before closing it again.

"Let's get going..."

Horus and Malum had been floating for some time when Malum suddenly stopped.

"What now," Horus said, "Do we have anyone tailing us this time?"

"No," Malum whispered, "I think that we should lie low for a while. Something... doesn't feel too right."

Horus narrowed his eyes at the Bronzong. "Are you sure? It's only dusk... I figured we could keep going until nightfall-"

"No." Malum said, "Let's just lie low for a while. There's something..."

Without another word, the Bronzong floated in between two thick trees.

Fine, then. We'll just lose all that valuable time sleeping, Horus thought bitterly.

As if reading his mind, Malum yelled back: "I didn't say we were going to sleep, bird. I just said we were going to lie low."

This time, there was a slight catch in his voice, as if it were absolutely vital that the two lay low.

He's hiding something, Horus thought, but what?
