Open The Sundering of the World

"so your part of the resistance?" shadow called down to the man that walked up to the small group below,"then sign me up, names shadow," and with that he jumped down from the rock and landed on the ground with his eyes looking at the floor. He slowly raised his head to look at the group and gave a have half growl half chuckle, but it was a lighthearted tone all the same.

"I have a bad feeling about who 'they' are.", Kathris replied to the faerie dragon, "Unfortunately, getting out of here isn't exactly easy."

She stood up and walked over to the bars separating her and the guard, whom she towered over, and told him, "Will you let me out now? This being is also not of this world, as you may have surmised, and knows of things you wouldn't comprehend, human. I suspect it warns me of approaching demons, and I'm sure you'll need my help in the upcoming battles."

"I... still can't.", the guard replied, "Not on my own, at least. Otherwise my superiors would kill me. Let me get on the horn with someone..."

He pulled out a walkie-talkie and turned a switch, "Huang, we have a situation in the jail."

---

Pavel pulled out a small notepad and a pen, and scribbled Haru's name down. A Houndoom, a rather strange looking one at that, jumped down from a rock and declared his intentions as well. Pavel took down his name as well.

"Well, uh, alright then.", he replied, "As far as any specific preparations, who knows. We know little of how these invaders work. If you want, you could drop by the station and see some archival footage of them."

It was at that point that Pavel's walkie-talkie came to life, "Huang, we got a situation in the jail.", it garbled.

"Well, uh, speaking of which, I have to get back, apparently.", he told the group. "This is Huang, I'm heading back right now.", Pavel spoke into the radio as he walked back, Ken following suit.

Shadow smirked, trouble he thought mabye they capture on of those enemies, with that he bolted into the forest and followed the officer from the shadows

"Understood." Tobias grinned, "and if I should encounter those that are holding your subordinate, I will of course engage. Akarou out."

Hanging up, he ran to Olmak and Crast who were so far unsuccessful in finding anything in the ruins.

"That doesn't matter anymore," Tobias ordered, "We currently have a new objective, one that I'm sure will give you and the others a little more satisfaction." No sooner did he finish saying this did Volitak slither up, having apparently heard the promise of a better job.

Grabbing hold of the massive arm of the Golurk, Tobias recalled Volitak and Crast. "Fly me to Slateport, Olmak. The sooner the better."

"Yes, sir." Olmak rumbled, and then immediately, the signets on its hands flared to life, sending the Golurk into the sky.

Yes, I'm certain that this objective will be far more interesting, Tobias grinned, if there really is resistance in Slateport, I will hopefully have a truly worthy opponent.

Axe barely looked over her shoulder as the Houndoom sauntered away a few meters. She didn't want to make enemies out of anybody, and she didn't trust her tongue not to say something mean to somebody. For now she'd finish her meal, and then she'd probably just... sit here until something interesting happened.

Within two minutes she had eaten enough oran berries to keep her satiated for a while, and as she had envisioned herself she sat down by the bush and started resting. The journey on the boat had been quite tiring, and at the time she felt like she needed a nap, but she had to stay on guard for now. Who knew what would try to approach her in the next hour or so? If she slept she would be vulnerable to pretty much any attack.

"I'm too old for this sh*t," shadow said giving up on the chase and headed back to the forest by slateport. When he arrived he saw the fraxure sleeping, or at least she looked like it. He couldn't help it, he ran over and jumped onto a branch that hung over her and stared at her. He was very tricky like that, he still loved to give cheap scares. So with how he laid on the branch the first thing she would see would be his face, which would be scary seeing as he was missing an eye and all.

((Axe had her eyes open the whole time, but OK.))

Axe watched discreetly as the Houndoom approached, but lost sight of him as he jumped into the tree. For now she paid no attention to it, and relaxed. Mistake much? The minute she dropped her guard, the Houndoom swung down from a higher branch and stared her straight in the face. Axe started with a yell, but didn't hesitate to grit her teeth. "What was that for?!" she cried, clearly not all that happy. She was alerady flexing her claws, preparing to smack the Houndoom in the face if he dared try anything else. It looked like he wanted to be enemies, and if he wanted a fight, he would get one. Seemed as if Axe couldn't go anywhere without making a few non-friends.

Wargle and Escavalier's argument was interrupted by half-yell, and they all looked around to see what it was. Seeing nothing, Wargle began to preen himself while Escavalier ((somehow)) polished his armour. ((maybe by like, rolling in the sand? Idunno))

"ha, got ya," shadow said as he stopes down from the branch and laid next to her," sorry I couldn't help it, I've always been a child at heart," he just laid and stared through the trees at the sun, remembering when he used to lay watching the clouds with his mate, amber, a mightyena, and thier pups max, a houndour, and Julia, a poochyena. Tears started to flow out of his eyes,"I'm never going to see them again," he sobbed completely forgetting the fraxure behind him.

Runa's ears twitched as she heard talking somewhere behind her. It was a while back, but she could tell that it was another canine Pokémon. Excited by the idea, she glanced at her Trainer and whined excitedly, pawing at the ground and wagging her tail. Though her teeth were bared in an uncertain message, her red-and-yellow eyes clearly reflected her joy. Finally, her Trainer gave in and sighed, and the Mightyena growled to herself with satisfaction and began to make her way toward the voice.

As she reached the source, Runa noticed that it was indeed another canine, and Dark-type like her as well. But she slowed down regretfully as she noticed that he was upset about something, the Mightyena slowed and looked from a distance. Oddly, the Houndoom was talking to a long-toothed Pokémon that Runa hadn't seen before. She glanced from it to the Houndoom, concern in her eyes. If the Houndoom acknowledged her presence without being hostile, she would approach and ask him what was wrong.

Suddenly he saw a mightyena, "who are you?" he asked then tears flowed out of his eyes as he stared at her, afraid his appearance was bad, " you look just like my mate, Amber, I mean how she LOOKED," he got up in a sitting position and waved his tail inviting he over," don't worry I'm not hostile, despite my appearance, I guess it's not every day you see a pokemon without an eye," at the end of the sentence he let out a small chuckle.

As Olmak was approaching Slateport's outskirts, Tobias directed the Golurk to fly close to what was left of a small building's rooftop. Once Tobias thought that he was in range, he jumped off Olmak and landed on the roof. Another pokeball drop deployed Arthron.

"Stay airborne," he ordered of Olmak, "scout the city and see if you can find that being not of this world. If you can, alert me. If you've found no success within the next thirty minutes, return to my position."

"Yes Sir," Olmak again rumbled, before flying away. Tobias waited until he was higher and past the building beside theirs before turning to his Volcarona

Arthron, you'll be... my escort for the time being. I still have very little idea as to how many know of my corruption, and how many would react badly to seeing the corrupted 'Jackal.' We must move cautiously from here forward."

With that, he again jumped down from the rooftop, landing with little visible injury. And then, with as much casualness as someone on a midday stroll, he walked through the ruined streets.

((As an aside, is the corruption of Tobias known to the general public? I would assume not, but I'm asking just to be sure.))

Runa's ears pointed backwards as he noticed that the Houndoom only grew more upset at her appearance, and backed away guiltily with her head down. She was somewhat apprehensive as he mentioned his mate, and how she looked... implying that she was gone. She glanced down at the ground, but the Houndoom got her attention by beckoning to her with his tail, and she cautiously padded over to him. The Houndoom was now sitting up, and Runa wagged her tail slightly. She was glad that he wasn't being so gloomy.

The Mightyena sat down, but stayed in front of the Houndoom instead of at his side. She tilted her head with her ears pointed in different directions, and stayed in that odd position for a moment before curling her tail around her paws and smiling. "It isn't," she agreed to his last statement. "I'm Runa, from Petalburg," she introduced, noting that the Houndoom had said that she resembled someone named Amber. "Who are you?"

"the names Shadow from, well I started in a tribe which I don't remember, then the dragons den in blackthorn and now here," he said,"so I noticed you picked up on the word looked, yes she is dead because of those beasts, along with my 2 pups, and now I question what is left living for,"
He starts to cry a little," I lost everything, my family, my mate, my pups, even my eyeysight is mostly gone, if I die then I can be with them and I can see again,"

Runa looked away as he explained sadly, trying to think of some way to cheer Shadow up. Perhaps she could just change the subject... without being too evasive. She'd try to think of something that was partly relevant. As she heard that he sounded like he had no reason to live, she looked up suddenly, her eyes wide, and asked, "Are you here to defend the region?" She paused for a moment, thinking, then added, "That's why my Trainer's here, and I guess that's why I'm here, too." She glanced toward the intimidating Pokemon that was sitting nearby, but tried not to get its attention.

"yes and I am a great soldier because I will not fear death," shadow said,"in fact I welcome it, I will be brought down in battle, but know one will care because I have no one left, and after I die they will all be waiting for me where ever you go after death."

Cyrus took the apple from the vendor, tossing it up in his hand. It looked clean enough. Then again, he only came to the food because he was bored. He gave the apple back, saying, "Thanks anyway," and abandoned the market. Not to far away, he spotted a black haired woman. He had seen her out of the corner of his eye one or two times, but never taken much notice. Well, she looks intelligent. She probably knows what's going on.

He did not greet her formally, as he should have to any stranger. Instead, he stuffed his hands in his pockets, walked over, and stopped next to her. "So, you got any idea why trainers were called here? Aside from the obvious, I mean."

"No one left?" Runa asked, tilting her head. This guy seemed to go from happy to depressed and back... though he was more on the depressed side. "Not even a Trainer?" After a pause, she stood up and kneaded the ground anxiously with her front paws. "You could come with me. Haru is a great--"

That was when she heard her Trainer walk up behind her. Haru was looking down at the two socializing Pokémon as she approached. "Who is it, Runa? Someone we know?" But as she examined the Houndoom, she didn't recognize him. She didn't seem to show fear at the Houndoom's missing eye... She was probably too scientific for that. What interested her was his odd coloring. However, when she noticed that she was staring, she looked back at Runa, who smiled innocently.

The Faerie Dragon teleported a short distance, floating directly in front of the guard's face. He taunted the guard a bit, staring into his eyes, then fluttering around him in a few circles. His telepathic 'voice' could be heard by both the human and the night elf, but, of course, not by one on the other side of the walkie-talkie. "Now now, there are plenty of excuses you could make up, human. These are 'otherworldly beings' as you know. They could have amazing, superbeing powers that you just weren't aware of..." He suddenly disappeared again, appearing in front of the Night Elf, and dropping a small metal object toward her. "Like the ability to steal keys from unsuspecting victims..." With a small cackle and a blip, he was then suddenly gone for good.
