Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open What is our destiny? ~ The Exiled

"No, you don't need to," Ruby mewed, whispering to Za. "I didn't really know what it meant, which was why I did it."

"Aye." A new Clan, a new future. Hopefully, one more peaceful than the rest. Or at least, Blast hoped so.

"Aye." Haktor peered at the Blakizen out of the corner of his eye. Really, that overgrown chicken was too rash for his own good. Za had the potential to be a good comrade, especially with his leadership qualities that came with being a Vespiquen. But now, the bee will probably regret the choice and not be as great as before. But then, of course, Haktor himself was going a bit overboard too. He needed to watch his mouth sometime.

Ruby twitched her tail slightly. Her decision was pretty strong, and it seemed as if over half of the Darkness Clan was agreeing. But she still wasn't quite sure.

Just to be clear, Tigerflame said, "Aye."

"And so it is. The Darkness clan. A group of misfits cast out into the darkness, but united by what separated them from their families. Now we must set up government, under which, all of us are equal, a republic."

Gervais let out a wry laugh, "I doubt we need to actually establish any sort of government if our group is this small. We aren't even really settled yet, what's the use? We've got more important things to attend to."
He turned towards the Vespiquen, "You got that right, by the way. All felt silly, but since that old coot wanted it," Gervais indicated Varnal, "I went in."

"I don't know if that's how clans work," Tigerflame said. "They're not cities, just an organized group of Pokémon that are, in general, the same types."

Ruby nodded. "We need to decide a leader. A wise and calm one, not rash... but we can probably do it later. For now, we need to--"

She was cut off by sounds starting from above. Looking up from the wide trench, she gazed in horror as groups of Flying, Ghost, and a few Poison and Bug Pokémon descended. The birds would have a distinct advantage, being able to fly up and dodge, while the outcasts were stuck on the bottom of it.

Ruby let out a yowl, and Tigerflame breathed fire up at the hostile Pokémon. A few were scared back, but bravely, mainly the birds and ghosts swooped down.

Ruby shrieked as she felt talons dig into her back. Furiously, she whirled around and attempted to slash at her attacker, but the bird, a Staravia, soared up again, waiting to attack.

Tigerflame attacked with another blast of fire at a descending Altaria, then leaped up with a Sky Uppercut. The bird spread its wings and countered with a DragonBreath, deterring the Combusken.

"What do we do now?" Ruby hissed.

"United we stand, divided we fall..." Tigerflame murmured.

Za looked up at the attackers, and didn't even try to dodge when one swooped down at him.

((Control it from there.))

Gervais got up, and brought one of his claws down swiftly. A sandstorm, just as swiftly, blew into the area, masking his position. He scanned the area, then leapt off one side of the pit, and slashed an attacker out of the air, one which was about to hit the Vespiquen.

Chirin grinned madly. Yes! A battle, finally!

His entire body bristled with electricity. A Yanma swooped too close to him and he tackled it out of the air, pinning it down and stabbing at it with his horns.

From behind, a Sableye raked at his back with its claws. Crying in pain, Chirin abandoned the Yanma and began to fire bolt after bolt at it and any other enemies in range.

Inferno jumped up in the air at the Staravia that had a hold on Ruby. He used flamethrower at it, which singed it and it let go of Ruby. Meanwhile, Shelly flew up into the air and used metronome. It turned out to be Outrage. She started blindly smashing into every Pokemon in the air.

Chirin turned and noticed a cloud-covered bird attacking the Delcatty and Combusken. He powered his legs towards it and fired off a thunderbolt, using the flash to obscure his position so he could back it up with a ram.

Inferno jumped off the head of one of the flying Pokemon. He then used flamethrower and spun around at incredible speeds.

"An attack... by Air clan, huh? This should be interesting. It's time to prove yourselves." The Flygon paused for a moment, thinking. "All right, here's what we'll do. Haktor, come with me. The rest of you, stay low, and watch for falling creatures... We're going to even the odds a little bit. And remember, most of these guys resist Grass and Bug attacks, but are weak to Rock moves." He could see that the flying creatures could swoop down at the time of their choosing, but he had a plan. Varnal lifted up a boulder from the side of the cliff, then flew up along the side of the cliff, beating his wings fast, picking up loose rocks, dirt, and other debris in a Sandstorm attack, but making sure the sandstorm ended about 15 feet off the ground... only in the air. Now they won't be able to see where they're swooping... they can only dive blindly, into our awaiting paws. And it'll be hard for them to fly around in all this. But I can still see them... He slammed his boulder into the first bird he saw entering the sandstorm, a Pidgeotto. (that's how I envision Stone Edge, btw)

((Oh crap, I missed three pages D=<))
Storm lifted her head to look at a Fearow dropping down at her from the air. She rolled to the side and spread her feathered wings, stunning the Fearow for a second. She flew up into the air, and struck the bird down with a Dragon Claw. A Yanma slammed her in the side, and Stormfeather brought it down with a Flamethrower. She turned to a Pidgeotto and used Dragon Pulse.

"I can help!" Inferno said, jumping off another head and hitting 2 Pigeot with a blaze kick, then another with fire punch. He then noticed the sandstorm whipping up, and closed his eyes, but, continued to fight, because his spirit was too strong to be broken be sand.

((I'm frustrated with it too. And Philly, it was flying above Ruby, and wasn't holding onto her any longer, but that's okay.))

Tigerflame blasted a burst of fire at a nearing Skiploom, KOing it easily. Ruby sang an aria at two oncoming Taillow, which looked strong. One fell asleep, while the other continued to use Aerial Ace on Tigerflame. The Combusken was thrown back, but recovered and aimed a Double Kick. This time, the bird stepped back, and began to move quickly towards Ruby, who had just enough time to react by unsheathing her claws. At the noise, the other Taillow woke up, and it looked as if each Pokémon would have to fight one on one.

Za finally decided to fight. He raised his arm in a Fury Cutter just as a bird came down on him (he didn't recognize the species), both blocking the attack and striking its feet. While it was distracted, he tossed a Power Gem attack at it, and it barely dodged it, but was struck on the wing by one stone and began a slightly lopsided flight.

Varnal watched more and more Flying creatures dive blindly into the sandstorm, as he hovered in the air. They're obviously intending to wipe us out with so many... well, we'll show them. He knocked a Beedrill out of the air with his stone edge, sending it tumbling down against the side of the chasm and to the ground. Suddenly, he felt himself hit in the back... a Fearow managed a lucky dive. He spun around, trying to knock it away from him

Everything happened without the enemy spotting Gervais, masked behind the sandstorm. He picked and chose targets with ease, slashing whomever flew too low. He stopped to rest for a moment and spotted a Taillow on the attack. He leapt up and met the bird with his claws, taking it down, though the confrontation was not without injury. He spotted a Fearow smacking into Varnal. Gervais turned his head to aim at it, and opened his mouth. His dragon rage took the form of a cyclone of pure energy, which belted the Fearow.
