Open Dreams of the Past

Atticus gazed at Mourmedy. It was like he didn't even know her anymore... Always, she had proclaimed her disgust... her hatred at Pokemon trainers. And yet there she was, acting like one...

"Mourmedy... are you-"

"Atticus, Atticus, I know what you're thinking... Don't worry, don't worry... it'll all be fine." Though she wasn't sure of this herself, her calm and collected tone seemed to convince him.

She herself was concerned, but excited. It was so wrong... so wrong... But it felt fundamentally right. Mourmedy bit her lip, trying to process all of these bizarre emotions. There was so much going on... The Tyranitar had shielded her and the Aerodactyl... Was it guilt that she felt? Guilt for deceiving them? Guilt for their pain... How terrible it all looked. No... she needed to forget. She quickly assumed her cold expression.

"Both of you..." Mourmedy announced. "Crunch, if you... if you can..."

Ancea was hit by Shadow Punch. "I won't... back... down..."
A dark fist went straight through her body as she fell to the ground, still.

Qua turned his head and nodded, canceling Stone Edge. He instead lunged forward with his fangs, attempting to bite down on the ghost's body.

"You're pathetic," Zrantox said as he saw the Tyranitar shield the human, "Taking orders from them? Helping them? Do you really want to help a species that has enslaved and imprisoned your kind?"

"Now get out of my way!"

"No....! I shall not let you harm her......!" Qua roared a challenge to the Dusknoir, making it clear that it was not directed at the female human. "I will take you down.... even if it means doing so to myself...!"

Skaldia shrieked as she was thrown to the ground. After a short moment of stillness, she rose up once more, glaring at the Dusknoir. Gathering Dark energy in her jaws, she leaped at him, taking care to time it so that if the Tyranitar also obeyed, she wouldn't collide with it by accident. "You will obey the Champion!" Her voice now had lost most of its raspiness, and was rather intimidating, especially when she was screeching like that. The anger the Aerodactyl felt was being channeled into her attack as the energy suddenly spiked. Bracing herself in case Zrantox tried to escape or grab her again, she let her fury wash over her.

"It's not her I'm after!' Zrantox countered, "Why target a human you seem to all worship, when I can target..." He powered up another Dark Pulse.

"Her comrade!" He then fired off the twin Dark Pulse at the human that he'd nearly strangled upon his release from the chamber.

((I'm trying to make Qua act like Naruto :D))

"Not any of them.... shall be harmed!" Qua could do nothing other than that; the attack was going too fast for him to be able to do anything. He looked back at his new human commander with a sorrowful look. "I'm sorry.... I cannot save your friend."

((...or at least I was on my previous post.

@Stormecho: I dunno.))

((I must have been typing my post when you posted. Let me factor that in now...))

Exhausted as Zrantox was after the twin Dark Pulse, he didn't have time to react to the double strike he received from the Tyrnaitar and the Aerodactyl. The blow took its toll as the Dusknooir was sent flying back and slammed into a wall.

The Ghost type staggered upward.

"Well, it seems that I'm outnumbered here." He said, "No matter. While you focused your wrath on me, the Champion's friend has taken damage. Heavy damage, heh heh."

He used what little energy he had left to turn transparent and float through the wall which he'd just been blasted into. Before leaving, he said, "Rest assured though, I will personally destroy the Champion. This isn't the last you've seen of me..."

And with that, he floated through the wall, and floated onward until he reached the exit.

Ancea wished she was awake; she could faintly hear what was happening. Struggle as she might, she couldn't get up.

(Missed a lot. :dead:)
They were free! She could hear Pokemon talking and fighting. She suddenly felt nervous, and stayed inside, looking outside the chamber cautiously.

The Dusknoir would need help soon. Though... it was weak, an easy kill, and she might be able to gain a small amount of trust with these other, brainless pokemon who were bent on protecting this human. 'Idiots,' she thought, 'They'll be her tools in almost no time. As long as they get out, I'll be fine. Mightaswell hurry them up.'

Turning the corner, the Dusknoir escaped. Esther recoiled quickly. There were pokemon that she couldn't reconize, and there were at least three of them. Not a battle she could win. She blended in to the darkness, praying that she hadn't been seen by one of the confusing and strong-looking pokemon.

((edit: darnit, took too long typing.)

The Dark Pulse came flying towards Atticus at a speed that none of them could react to.

It hit. The dark energy shot straight through him and his body crumpled to the floor.

Mourmedy gazed upon this in horror, completely forgetting her cold manner. She didn't care if she showed her weakness anymore...

"Atticus! Are you... are you all right?" The woman kneeled down beside him, her blue eyes for the first time softened with geniune concern.

He didn't answer.

The others in the group watched them in silence, watched solemnly. They knew... they knew how much he meant to her... They had plans... plans to get married.

"No... no..." She gently caressed his face and then put her hand on his chest.

It was as silent as his response to her. His eyes gazed hollowly on, unknowing and lifeless.

And to their surprise, to their complete and total shock, she put her head over his body and began to cry. The tears poured from those formerly steely eyes, they poured on quietly, quietly and no longer caring... no longer caring about remaining her composure.

Atticus didn't move.

Qua looked down at the human and gently placed a hand on her back. He had no way of soothing her. For now, he would just let, and that was all.

Sorry..... he thought.

Esther smirked; the human was very weak. The Tyranitar - one of the few that she reconized - was obviously weak on his emotional side, too. This could be much easier than she expected to be. Despite that, it would be safer to just stay hidden. She wasn't sure if the others had seen her or not...

Skaldia growled as the Dusknoir left, but soon became preoccupied. The Champion was... crying. The other human, the one who had been attacked, was dead. How strange... Death was familiar to the Aerodactyl, but to suddenly see the composed woman start to weep was rather frightening. It showed the Champion wasn't always assured, always clear. It was rather troubling; Lance, though he was possessed of all sorts of strange notions about caring for Pokemon, had never been so... emotional. Or at least, he had never cried, never shown anger. "You... weep." It was a statement, but she turned it into a question, watching the scene with obvious unease.

As Zrantox floated to a safe postion outside of the cave, he reflected on what had happened.

He knew that sooner or later he'd have to rebel when released from his chamber. He had thought that at least one other poekmon would stand by him. He'd been wrong in that fact, however, and nearly been destroyed.

I need to make sure I'm not wrong next time, he thought, Though i can't attack again, seeing how weak I am, I can still plan, plan for my next move.
