Open Dreams of the Past

Fyrix stepped carefully outside. A human was next to another who was laying on the ground. She assumed they were dead. She looked around, hoping to not be noticed.
Why am I feeling so shy? Aside from the dead human, anyway.

"Mourmedy...?" One of the people in the group had had the courage to approach her. He watched her cautiously, she seemed to be rising, avoiding looking at them.

She didn't say anything, but merely took out another, larger shining object in silence. Her wet, reddened face turned to look at the Aerodactyl... And this time, her gaze seemed different... it wasn't the same anger she had shown before. No... this time, her blue eyes glared lothingly... They seemed to be almost emitting a fire from them even as the tears poured freely from them...

Everyone in the group shivered... they had never seen Mourmedy that angry... Irritated, yes... But not like that. The man who had called out her name backed far away.

She pulled the trigger.

A large burst of energy nearly exploded from the weapon, it was going towards the Aerodactyl at an immensely quick speed.

Skaldia was confused at first. Why was the Champion staring at her like that? Why was she holding that shining object? The Aerodactyl soon had those thoughts banished as she was hit by a sudden force, only having seen a flash of light as it burst from the weapon. Crumpling onto the ground, she stared up dully at the human, feeling a numbness creeping down her spine. "Why?" she rasped, and then flinched as a surge of pain followed the numb feeling. She definitely wasn't going to be fighting any time soon, or even moving for that matter.

Sinar watched the whole battle unfold. And then, the human, following the death of her comrade, unleashed one of those devastating human weapons. It fired a great burst at the Aerodactyl, whom she was commanding just fine before. Sinar spun around furiously, and lit a ring of fire around the human, then broadcasted a message, How many more beloved humans will have to die until you destroy us all?

"Never call me... weak." She said, her voice seeping with a poisonous fury. The enraged woman pointed her weapon at the other Pokemon. All the others watched her in shock and fear...

She knew, she knew that all this Pokemon training was nothing but nonsense. Nonsense that only caused pain and misery in its path... How could she ever have been happy to command one of those disgusting creatures? Those who were capable of so much... of killing you with only a flick of their grotesque fingers... It was sickening, purely sickening.

They watched her make another hand gesture, their minds still numb with the events that had just conspired, and slowly followed the order. The survivors swarmed around all the Pokemon, pulling out large metallic weapons similar to Mourmedy's. They pointed them at them.

And then, there was a ring of fire. Mourmedy laughed at the foolish Solrock. But this laugh was mirthless, far from a normal laugh... it was a laugh of extreme grief.

"Go ahead... Try to kill me..." Her eyes pentrated it furiously, as if she were mentally imagining it being slowly and gruesomely torn to pieces. She made another hand gesture, the others put their fingers over the trigger, ready to shoot.

Qua was confused. "Why.... why are you doing this? The rest of us are different... we tried to protect you!" He was getting calm, and at the same time angry. The mix of emotions, he couldn't figure out, and thus could only speak. "Please....... no more killing...."

Sinar stared at the human amidst the flames. It thought. Death was something Sinar understood well enough, but it could never comprehend it's ramifications fully. It was inorganic and not going to die naturally, after all. I'll leave your fate to the others. I am no arbiter, merely a protector of these souls., it told everyone. And it floated outside to to seek sunlight.

Ancea slowly dared to rise, having awoken. "...We defended you.... didn't we?" she stood in front of the Aerodactyl, then turned her head to the human. "We don't mean to harm you... please, no more..."
((And Ancea will act like Exclamation. :) ))

She was beyond words... her grief was beyond words... All that she could think of was her mission, what she had set out to do... Mourmedy never thought that they would have a casualty... and not him... Please not him... She looked at his body from the corner of her eye, still in disbelief. He... was dead...

A woman in the group watched and considered their leader carefully. "You said... you said we wouldn't hurt anyone only if it was neccessary. Mourmedy, this is beyond the mission..." She said soothingly. "I know how much you loved him... I know, it's all right to be upset..."

She didn't look at the woman, recognizing her voice. Mourmedy didn't respond.

"Come on... stop this... let's just get our job done peacefully."

"Rasu..." Her gaze of lothing softened as she heard her friend's voice... she contemplated her words for a while... Rasu was right, this violence was senseless and beyond the mission. She had said that herself. They weren't murderers... Then made another hand gesture. They all put their weapons down.

"Thank you..." Rasu said, her voice grateful.

Ancea stopped shaking out of tension. By slave, what do they mean? Am I just captured and used as a Trainer's Pokemon? That can't be so bad. But still, I'm not sure if that's it.
She took a step back and towards Qua, showing that she didn't want any more quarrel with the humans.

Qua looked down at Ancea, and then at Mourmedy. He nodded toward the Kabutops, and then the human again, turning and lumbering further into the cave.

Fyrix jumped. Why were the humans using weapons? What happened? She felt stupid for not leaving sooner, and for not staying inside at the same time. She felt like she should say something, but what?

What do I need?

He needed information. There had to be some poekmno here that knew what was going on.

Usually the Champion came alone. So why was it that this time she had a whole group of humans with her?

Too many questions, Zrantox thought as he floated on, and not nearly enough answers.

Sinar sensed a presence coming out of the cave. It floated around to investigate. There stood the Dusknoir. So you're certain that's the champion?, it asked the ghost.

"The Champion?" Zrantox said to the Solrock that had been nearby. "I don't know. Usually Champions come alone. This one came wiht a whole group. And there was... something not right about her. For a huamn, anyway. I killed one of her comrades, though, and was attacked by other pokemon who were in the chamber with me. So to answer your question..." The dusknoir shrugged, "I'm really not sure."

Charcoal watched the scene unfold silently. The Dusknoir was a rebel, the woman lied that she was the champion, but she wasn't. He had seen the champion, he had beaten him easily if he wanted to. And then the woman hurt the Aerodactyl, with something he didn't know what was.

"Err, what's going on?" Charcoal stepped out of the hole in the wall. What side was he on? The woman had lied and hurt the Aerodactyl, so the Dusknoir was right about something, humans could be evil, he wasn't on the womans side. Then the Dusknoir... it was right, that woman didn't want them any good, at least not in his eyes, but then again, it didn't have to kill that man. And the other Pokémon, who had protected the woman and nearly sacrificing their life to someone who was lying, they were the good guys, probably.

But I'm not on anyones side, Charcoal thought, I just want to return to Charificic Valley, home...

She does not seem like any champion I have heard of. Certainly a true champion would not raise arms against any Pokemon, as her comrades did. As she did, as well. It's not my place to judge, but I am of the mind that she is not the champion., Sinar replied. It spun around, soaking in the sun.

"Not the Champion..." Zrantox muttered. It did somewhat make sense. Like why she had pulled out those... things to use against the rockfall. he'd never seen a champion use them.

And since when does the Champion have an entire group following her? that is the main reason I see that she isn't it.

That meant she's lying. She's lying to all of thsoe other poekmon. Those fools. They're going to be lead straight to their graves.

A plan was starting to form in his mind.

This should be fun...

(( Charcoal is not exiting, he was just entering the chamber where the sleeping Pokémon were. ))
