• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open Dreams of the Past

"Didn't you hear Tanya?" the Drapion hissed. "Humans are hostile towards all of us Pokemon. So I suggest you stay away from them unless you want a fate worse than death." She began to turn away.

"And no thanks to the berries," Mist snapped. "I eat other Pokemon."

She began to wander away, trying to explore the area. What could she learn from that?

Very well., Sinar told Lance, I shall recharge outside.

The fight continued to unravel around it, but Sinar saw no reason to risk getting hurt. They hadn't actually begun openly attacking humans, nor did they ever attack Sinar. Just as it was about to whirl it's way out, a piercing sound rang out in the cave. However, Sinar was floating behind the source, the worst being projected the other way. It was, of course, Skaldia, the Aerodactyl. Taking advantage of it, Sinar floated towards the cave's exit.

Xalvin thought that other then him tripping on that damn rock there are no more dangers. He was wrong. He heard a screech and the sounds of battle! Hoping he remebered his training. As much as he hated it he was thankful for the training. But this was the first time he would use it in a real battle. Upon turning the corner he saw an Aerodactyl and an Arcanine locked in combat.

Blizzardi stubbornly continued to follow the Drapion. "I didn't catch your name," she said rather off-topic. She tended to talk backwards sometimes. "You said that humans are hostile towards all us Pokemon. That's true, but just because humans are hostile towards all Pokemon doesn't mean all humans are hostile towards Pokemon. It's a bit confusing, but it's true."

Don't follow stereotypes. She bit back the thought, and replaced it with "What do you eat when you get paralyzed, then?"

"My name is Mist," the Drapion snarled darkly. Her fangs were still bared, but she hardly turned around. "And paralysis fades. Did you ever hear that my pre-evolution, even, can survive for food without a year? I can go longer. Like I have to worry about my hunger." Her voice was frustrated, even a bit mocking. "That was, of course, until I was put into the chambers." After she said that, her tone became more of an enraged shout. "Now I know nothing about this world, and nobody is willing to teach me!"

((*dramatic music that goes dun-dun-dun-duuun* foreshadowing....))

The Aerodactyl's screech disoriented Zrantox. He fired another Dark Pulse, but this one went severely off-course and struck the chamber wall.

Yatasori and Effigei, on the other hand, seemed unaffected by the screech. They were content with simply dodging any of Zrantox's attacks that came way to close. Their plan was simple: wait until he had completely exhausted his energy, and then finish him off.

Surprisingly, it was working very well.

There has to be a better way to strike them, Zrantox said, But how? Any attack I send their way gets dodged.

Wait... perhaps the best alternative would be to aim at someone else- someone they don't want hit!

He charged up another Dark Pulse, and didn't aim it at either Effigei or Yatasori.

He instead aimed it at the human.

Without another word, he fired.
----
Yatasori immediately picked up on Zrantox's plan, and flew forward to stop the Dark Pulse

The moment that blast strikes the human, it'll be game over. I can't let that happen!

Time seemed to slow down as he flew closer to the blast. I just need to get a little closer....

He flew faster, and threw himself onto the dark energy.

Suddenly a Dark Pulse came zooming Cole's way from the direction of the Dusknoir. The angle between it and the Aerodactyl's wings was bad; the wouldn't shield her from the brunt of the blast. Well, it's not like I didn't know it would happen sooner or later, the loose cannon that he is.

She managed to force those thoughts into less than a second. There was
no time to scream, and indeed, even the second occupied by her thoughts barely fit into the time the Dark Pulse took to get closer.

And then the Gliscor took the hit. Stunned, she didn't dare move. She looked fearfully into the Dusknoir's eyes—well, eye—and knew that she had been that close to death. That thought alone sapped all of the cheer out of her system.

((Yay for sudden twists involving your own character. ^^))

Yatasori fell down, struck by the Dark Pulse.

"How..." he said weakly, "How did you-"

"I did nothing except fire a Dark Pulse at one of the humans. You brought the blast onto yourself."

"I'm well aware of that..." the Gliscor said, "But... how were you able to achieve that strong of a blast? You're not at full power yet."

"I don't need to be," Zrantox taunted, "You see, you're not at full strength either. You're still recovering from our earlier bout. I knew that from the beginning. I just needed to hit you. And now that you're out of the way..."

Another Dark pulse flared to life.

"I can take care of your friend!"

Sinar had to think fast, which wasn't easy inside. It had no sunlight to use solarbeam, which would've the best solution. Instead, Sinar raked the cave walls, telepathically, and hurled the rocks at the Dusknoir, hoping to disrupt Zrantox's attack. After that, though, Sinar flew out to the exit as quickly as it could, realizing that a dark move would probably finish it unless it could reach sunlight.

((holy crap i missed two pages holy crap holy crap))

Storm padded out of the cave with ed'Rashtekaresket at her side, and followed the quickly drying water trail to the main cavern.

A battle.

"What the hell is going on here," ed'Rashtekaresket growled, and watched in surprise as a Dusknoir attacked one of the humans, and a Gliscor threw himself in front.. Growling, ed'Rashtekaresket shot in front of the Gliscor and human, shielding them with his body.

"What did this human do to you," he growled, and looked intensely at Storm. Now would be a great time for her- The Salamence leapt forward screeching, one of her claws burning with a blue-purple aura. She slashed at the Dusknoir and landed heavily on the ground, eyes burning.

Zrantox, weakened as he was, had no way to defend against the barrage of stone and the attacks from the Salamence. The combination slammed him into the wall, after which point he struggled to get up, eventually succeeding.

"The same thing that all the other humans have done to me," he snarled, "Defile the land which Arceus brought unto us. Humans cannot atone for all that they have done to us. And for that, they must die. Every. Last. One."

"Untrue," Effigei said, who had floated over to the weakened Yatasori.

"Deny it all you want, it won't matter," Zrantox said, laughing weakly, "I will personally ensure that all humans are eradicated off the face of this planet. You cannot stop me."

"Forgive... me ... if I try," Yatasori said as he started to fly back up, "You are wrong... humans and pokemon... both deserve to live... that is why they... cannot interact."

"You think isolation will bring peace? It cannot stop the fighting. As long as both humans and pokemon exist on this world, wars will never disappear."

"Illusive," Effigei said, gathering rocks around him.

"You are just desperately holding on to this dying dream," Zrantox said, finding the strength to create one more dark pulse, "I shall do the only merciful thing and end it right here and now."

Cole winced at the Dusknoir's words. She wanted to yell at him, to argue and prove her point, but there was so much shouting and fighting…

The Dusknoir said he was going to 'end it'. What did that mean? He couldn't possibly destroy all of his attackers with one attack, unless…he destroyed the cave. There was no guarantee. She was basing it off of her logic, even though logic told her there were other answers. She could only focus on the prospect of being buried alive. So although she knew that getting away from the fight, from the room altogether, would be the safe thing to do…Cole stood, frozen.

Mist saw a dock in the distance, and she began to head towards the patch of grass that was just nearby. There would probably be sufficient food, like a few Rattata. There wasn't anything too big around here, exactly. She could also skirt the nearby town and head somewhere that did have larger prey.

The Drapion began to head through the grass, staying out of the way of what few humans there were here. It was a long route, definitely, and at one point, she had to go all the way around a stone wall that appeared to have ruins inside. But she continued her journey and got closer to the town, although still out of sight.

((For some reason, I often make characters based on the night, and always end up asking the same thing.

Tell me when it's night time?))

((Exo, your posts are so freaking epic :D))

So much shouting...so much violence...why did it have to be so? 63's attention had been diverted towards the Gliscor, Dusknoir, and Claydol who all seemed to be fighting for some reason. All of there talk seemed like gibberish. Humans shouldn't live? Were they that evil?

Suddenly, the Dusknoir let out a Dark Pulse that was aimed for the human behind him. The Gliscor that was fighting took the hit instead. 63 glanced back at the human. This human didn't seem to be so bad, why was the Dusknoir so bent upon destroying her? 63 looked back at the Dusknoir, who was charging up yet another Dark Pulse.

63 winced. His head was beginning to hurt. The pain continued to rise, until within a few moments, he couldn't bear it anymore. He yelped out in pain, and everything went black. Unknown to him, when this happened, he discharged a massive bolt of lightning towards the Dusknoir, right before 63 collapsed on the ground.

((Comes of years of RPing at Pokemon Dream forums. I may have hated that place in the end of my time there, but it gave me the RP skills I have today.))

The unexpected lightning bolt struck Zrantox, and it took all of his strength to hold onto consciousness, not too mention retaining the Dark Pulse.

On way or another, looks like this will be my final headgame...

"You will not forestall my judgment!" He yelled, "I will ensure Giratina's will is carried out... by destroying the entrance to the chamber!"

"No," Effigei whispered in horror.

As a ghost, he can escape by turning transparent, Yatasori thought, But I doubt any of us have that same ability. We'll be sealed in here for all of eternity.

Effigei, you'd better think of something!

Zrantox aimed his hand at the top of the chamber's entryway, even as Effigei began to launch stone after stone. The Dusknoir launched a Dark Pulse, and at the same time, the stones struck their target:

The same target as Zrantox's Dark Pulse.

The kinetically charged stones canceled the lethal dark energies.

"Ended," Effigei said in relief.

((Exo is awesome :o))
With a cry, Storm threw herself at the Dusknoir again, face burning with fire and claws with an odd purple-blue aura. She tore with her claws and spat fire, not even caring if any of her blows hit or not. The brunt of her attack was inaccurate, blows passing right by the Dusknoir's eye, even.

ed'Rashtekaresket turned to the human, growling under his breath. "What's all this," he snapped, a bit more rough than he had been aiming for. "Why did that Dusknoir attack you? What's going on?"
((Dragon, on the other hand..))

((Must.. resist... urge... to not be modest...))

Some of the Salamence's blows managed to strike Zrantox, sending him back toward the chamber wall.

I didn't count on the Claydol's interference. I don't have anything left to use a Dark Pulse.

But I do have one trick left... one that I was saving to use as my trump card against Lance... because it'll probably end my existence.

Better that than nothing, I suppose.

He aimed his hands at the human, and let ghostly energies flow out; the dark tendrils extended toward her.

Curse. The resulting drain means one attack will likely finish me, but it will have to work.

Effigei took notice of this, but the resulting drain that using the stones to protect the chamber's entrance had left him in a position where he couldn't stop Zrantox. Yatasori was also in no position to help.

Whatever happens next, the Gliscor thought, is up to the others.

((This. Is. Epic. No thanks to me, of course. xD Exo rules.))

Cole realized that her hand had somehow moved to clutch the base of the Aerodactyl's wing—the closest thing nearby. Sighing in relief, she released her steely grip and massaged her hand slightly. Trapped in some cave, never to see the sun again, probably left to suffocate…it wouldn't have been pleasant. Looking up to check on the fight, she happily watched the Dusknoir fall, seemig to be out of energy

Then he stretched out his hand to her.

Tendrils of energy slowly were working their way through the air to her. It seemed that he wouldn't give up on causing some kind of turmoil until he was dead. Frozen, she eyed it until the tiniest tip of energy touched her.

She gasped as a horrible sense of dread coursed through her body, accompanied by sudden weakness. Recoiling, she managed to break free of the tendril and back away. But, looking behind her, the wall was coming up pretty fast, and considering how weak she was after a mere taste of the attack, she was willing to bet her life—and she was, in fact—that if the full attack hit her she would be dead in an instant.

((Skaldia's out until Chaon deigns to reply, so... :P Lance time! I swear this responsibility is going to be flung at someone soon. x3 Anyone want another character? ...I feel like I should post something, but for now, there's nothing for either of my characters to do. :P))

((And what would happen if Chaon forgets about this? Skaldia would be stuck.

I figure Lance won't open the chamber until Zrantox is out cold. Still, I would have hoped that his change of goals would have kicked in when one of the Remnants made their move. *cough* Blaziking *cough*))

Well, it failed. My final attempt to kill the human only resulted in her weakening, and I haven't the strength for another Curse...

Why have I failed?

"Why? You continue to defend the humans, but it just brings you pain. So why? Why do you persist in defending them? Can't you see that they are undeserving of life?!"
