Open Dreams of the Past

Blizzardi covered her ears at the shouting. She wanted to follow the Drapion, but decided against it. She could go her own way. Let the oversized ant starve.

Blizzardi jumped back up into her tree. Apparently the forest was this way, seeing as there were more trees to the north. The Ambipom jumped to the next tree and swung upside down with her tail. Reaching down, she plucked a berry from a lower branch and shoved herself back onto the higher limb. She identified the berry as a Nanab. Her favorite. She ate the end, tasting both the sweet and the bitter. She had to eat more of these sometime.

Hearing someone coming out, and some shouts, Sinar turned. In the distance were some human vehicles. And then it noticed Cole had emerged from the cave. Sinar floated over.

Sunburn. Flesh can be so... weak., Sinar observed, then it went on, What transpired inside after my departure? Was the encapsulated human harmed? Or did nobody penetrate the final chamber?

Storm turned at the sound of Salamence, almost running into a large stone. "Salamence?" she asked, with a tone of mock disdain. "I'm not just a Salamence, I'm Storm, the.. um.." She tried to think of something that would make her seem powerful or something, but failed to come up with anything.

"Erm, never mind. I'm Storm!" She held out a powerful claw, before realizing the human was too far away to shake it and dropped it. "The Dusknoir was fun to fight, but he's gone now, so unless he comes back, he's not important, and who's Lance?" Tilting her head so she was looking at Cole almost upside down, Storm clawed at the air and overbalanced, falling over.

"I meant to do that," she yelled, and jumped up, shaking the dust from her scales.

((Storm is a retard :o))

((Gahgahgah I missed Storm, Earth, and Fire's post so I was going to edit and then I deleted and…yeah. Oops.))

"I like my flesh, thank you very much," Cole retorted. "I don't know when you left, but just so you know, the Dusknoir almost killed me twice for being the only human in the room. Then he got away by sinking through the floor, but he got hit by Hypnosis—or Sing—so he's not a threat. And Tanya sent me out before they could open the door…"

Distracted by Storm's antics, Cole blinked. She was…strange, to put it nicely. But she seemed much more cheerful than any other Pokemon she knew, and that was nice. "Yes, I'm sure you meant to fall on your face," Cole teased, grinning. "Lance is an important man from when you were put to sleep who may have gotten caught in a side-chamber. But some want to kill him…but Tanya said she'd protect him. Anyway, I'm Cole, but my real name's Nicole just in case you hear someone call me that."

((Yay, Storm is the comic relief character :D))

The humans were strong. They outmatched 63's power, and were easily able to overcome him, yet 63 still struggled. What were they doing? They shoved 63 into the metallic chamber. As soon as they put him in, he immediately attempted to get out. However, a human stabbed 63 with a sharp needle.

"Don't forget," the human muttered, "don't screw this up." The chamber began to close. "For your sake..."

----

63's eyes slowly opened to bright sunlight, something he'd not seen in a while. How he exited the cave, he did not know. He slowly stood on his legs, and looked around him. The human and a Salamence were talking to one another towards the entrance of the cave. 63 began to walk towards them, however he noticed something unusual about where he was. He looked down.

He was hovering a few inches in the air. 63 jumped, in shock, but when he did he fell to the ground, regaining his gravity. It was odd, indeed, but perhaps it was just a trick to his mind. He turned once more towards the human and the Salamence, and walked towards them. Perhaps they could help him figure out what exactly was going on.

((/failpost D: Oh well, I'll be able to get back to Zemhal soon, at least))

"We couldn't kill him," Yatasori said, "Not even as a last resort. Too many humans value his safety. We couldn't do it."

"Dependent," Effigei said, beginning to gather stones.

"So what do you suggest we do? take the Sharpedo's advice and kill him in cold blood?! I couldn't do that! It's against our mission."

"Unmentionable," Effigei retorted, launching the stones at the door. The resulting noise was comparable to that of a drum struck several times. Hard.

"So it would seem that our only chance is to take him someplace where he can't hurt anyone."

"Repetition," Effigei said, gathering more stones.

"True. But we have no other choice. At least, no other choice that follows our mission."

((Seeing as I just had my opening taken from me by Kali, I'm just going to give up on posting for the time being. >< Maybe during my long-weekend.))

((nuuuu SE :<

and Storm is the insane, too dumb to live but is somehow still alive village idiot yaaaay :D))

ed'Rashtekaresket nodded, watching the stones bounce off the door. "It was only a suggestion, though to me, it would make the most sense.." He trailed off, looking closely at the door. "Would you have a safe location in mind? Moving Lance would have to be quick and invisible, since it seems there is a lot of Pokemon that want him dead.." The Sharpedo floated over to the door, rubbing his rough skin on it for a moment, trying to determine its thickness, before floating away.

Storm looked up suddenly, spotting the Manectric. "Hi hi hi," she yelled, forgetting about Cole for a second. She charged past the Manectric and tripped, tumbling to the ground. Standing up quickly, she reared onto her hind legs, landing with a solid thump on the ground. A cloud of dust rose up, and Storm spread her wings to blow it away from her, and towards the two human and Pokemon, completely unintentionally. "I can fly," she yelled, and sat down.

((She's awesome in that lovable way. =D))

Cole blinked. Short attention span? And…maybe a little dumb. Something, however, made her want to like Storm, even if it would be an interesting experience.

She remembered the Manectric from the chamber. Leaning forward, she crossed her legs and hesitated, finding it hard to pick up the conversation after Storm's antics. "…Hi. She's Storm. I'm Cole. You were in one of the sleep chambers, right?"

Entering the scene were two more from the chambers. One was a relatively empty-headed Salamence named Storm. The other was a Manectric.

Named 63., Sinar announced, You seem lost, like many others that have emerged from the sleep chambers.

Blizzardi finished the Nanab, all but the inedible part, which she dropped out of her hand to the ground. Silently she hoped it would grow a new tree so there would be more berries to eat. She was about to grab another Nanab, but decided to try something new. However, there was no berries she could she that she didn't know. What now?

She decided to explore the forest, and started a bit further north.

Kleh'Drentaht took a deep breath. Calm is the key to dealing with these sorts. "My apologies," he said trying to sound sincere, "I'm just a little peeved that some arrogant human locked me away for who knows how many years. Surely you can relate?"

((If I'm missing something please let me know. I'm just a little confused by the outside actions.))

A Dusknoir fell back, struck by the blow of the human's pokemon. The human threw an ultra ball at him. Weakened as he was, the Dusknoir could do nothing as he was sealed away, and Zrantox could only watch as he lost another one of his brethren.

"Keep fighting, brothers!" he yelled, "Fight to avenge those who have fallen against these vile beings!"

They continued to fight, but it seemed more and more hopeless. Two more humans fell, struck by a Twin Dark Pulse, but more came to replace them. One by one, Zrantox's brothers were defeated and sealed away. And once the sixth one was beaten, the humans and pokemon turned to him....

Zrantox awoke with a start. For a moment he thought he was still in that cave, fighting with his brothers against the humans.

Then everything came back to him.

I made a grave miscalculation. I didn't think that I would be so weak upon awakening. I had hoped that I would be able to destroy that human. I never thought that they would be so protective of those vermin.

I will not make that mistake again.

((Sorry for the lateness of this post. My internet has been rather slow recently.))

Or...maybe these two wouldn't be able to help out 63. The Salamence, though seemingly nice enough, was perhaps a little too, dim-witted. The human seemed intelligent and nice, but 63 didn't know if she'd be able to understand.

"My name is, um, 63, I think. And yes, I was in the sleeping chambers," 63 said nervously. Come to think of it, what was his name? 63 didn't seem to be much of a name, everyone else seemed to have unique, wordy names. Not numbers.

Named 63, you seem lost, like many others who have emerged from the sleeping chambers.

63 jumped back in surprise. The voice, wasn't really a voice, 63 just seemed to hear words in his head. He looked around, and saw a Solrock as the only other closest Pokemon to 63. Was this Solrock communicating with 63 telepathically? He seemed intelligent enough, perhaps he might be able to help.

"Well," 63 said slowly in the Solrock's direction, not knowing how to respond to a telepathic speaker, "I guess I'm lost, it's just that I, um, don't remember anything."

Surprised, the once battle ready Arcanine suddenly became calm. So, he switched tactics. At first he was ready for a losing battle ( a bug/flying against a fire and a rock/flying, who would win?) and now he tried a diplomatic approach.
"Oi! Is anyone from those crystal pods things!?"

Skaldia blinked as her opponent suddenly calmed down. That was unexpected... "I'm angry at humans too." she admitted, turning to glower at the door. "Some of them, at least." The Scyther finally caught her notice, and it was her turn to stare at him, incredulous. "Not another one? I swear you're all breeding." she accused. "The chambers didn't seem this full when I was stuck in them!" The Solrock had vanished - good, he had been annoying her. In fact, the cave suddenly seemed a lot emptier than it had been when she had started to fight...

...Oh well. It didn't matter. "Well, if he is in there, I'm not getting him out." she growled to herself, and then... shouted at the sealed chamber door. Oh yes, she was perfectly sane. "You! If you're in there, you better stay inside and rot! If you get out, I'll tear you to shreds like I should have done when we first met!" she screeched, and then turned away huffily.

----
Lance heard the angry rant - it was too loud to ignore. He couldn't answer, though, as it seemed no one could hear his own voice. True, his mouth was dry and he couldn't really shout, so it was understandable. If only he had Skaldia's lungs... Unnoticed by him, the continual light from the crystals began to flicker, even as the droning hum sped up. It was only a matter of time - the secondary chamber couldn't handle the power, and it would overload...

Crystals were nasty things: splintered, they were sharp enough to inflict wounds. To kill. And it was so unfortunate that those in the sleeping chambers were always beneath them...

The slamming of something loud and metallic made Lance flinch back, and the lights flickered noticably. Whatever had hit the door had some effect - there was a dent, and he could have sworn there was fresh air flowing through one of the seams. Hoping that he wasn't about to stumble onto a battlefield, he banged on the door once more as encouragement to keep hitting it.

((And thus I'm at a crossroads. Yayyy... :P))

"Well I don't care if anyone feels like staying in here, but I want out. I haven't seen sunlight for too long. Which way is out?" he asked the aerodactyl.

I see., Sinar replied to 63, I do recall a struggle inside when you were placed in, it was nighttime, I stood inside and could sense you resisting being placed inside the chamber. Unfortunately, I do not know anything beyond that. Do you at least recall why your name is 63? Numerals are not typical names.

"Well I need to get revenge on a few humans and I feel that if you guys are traveling around, and my best bet to finding them is if I follow you people." After he said that he loathed it. But weighing his options, he might have a best chance with them.

"Well, the numbers on the side of the container I was in said '63', so I thought that was my name, but now..." 63 paused. A struggle? Why was there a struggle? Did it have something to do with that bizarre dream he just had. "...now I really can't think of my name, and I figure that 63 is as good of a name as anything."
