• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open High School Blues

"Yes... let's find one..." Dawn replied. She stopped at one door that was rather far down the hall. "This one looks empty."

As she pushed it open and glanced inside, she nodded. "Yeah, this one will work. Since I'm left handed--" She lifted her port arm-- "Or left-winged, I'll have the left side of the room."

Datehadu looked around. She wasn't really good at choosing partners, unless she already knew someone. She guessed that she would've liked to be with the Alakazam morph, since Alakazam were supposed to be very smart, but he was a boy, and she wasn't sure boys and girls were allowed to be in the same dorms. It would've been a bit weird anyway.

She looked around, scanning the other girls. She wasn't sure which ones, or if any of them, would be a good roommate for her. Now was one of those times when she really wished she was psychic.

She decided to resort to her usual way of finding someone, which was waiting until either someone came up to her or only one other was left standing without someone.

"Great!" Mysti grabbed her new dormmate's arm and dragged her to a vacant dorm. "How about this one?"

((I just needed her to follow me, so don't take that the wrong way! BTW, I am only in 6th grade in real life))

((I'm grade 7 in real life... at my school I'd be ignoring you XD))
Dragon nodded.
"Sure, fine with me." She went over to look at the furniture, and ran a claw softly down the wall, so she wouldn't make a mark.

Acacia stumbled, not expecting to get dragged. She regained her balance when they stopped in front of an empty dorm room.
"Sure, I honestly don't care. If you're happy.."
She played with the end of her braid, trying not to laugh. Mysti would probably end up being the most hyper person in the school, which would make the year that much more entertaining..
Sounds fun. Ten bucks she breaks something before the day's over.

Mysti ran in, bumping into a lamp. She caught it, only to knock over a pencil and step on it and break it. "Oops!" She said. "But hey, at least it wasn't the lamp!"

As he got to the dorms, Hyro started to look for Mayeuis. Seeing as though he was one of the only people Hyro knew at the school and he seemed nice enough, Mayeuis was his first choice for a roommate. If more than one roommate was allowed (and from what he'd heard, it seemed that way) then perhaps he'd ask the Manectric morph as well, Hyro thought, as he didn't seem to know anyone. If Mayeuis was okay with that, obviously. After looking for what seemed like forever, Hyro found who he was looking for.

"Hey, Mayeuis! Do you have a roommate yet?"

Mayeius jumped, and the spoons clattered to the floor again. With his mind, he made them levitate back into his hands and turned slowly and warily around, finding himself face-to-face with the Pichu morph who had given him a note earlier. He curtly shook his head - he wasn't very good in social situations as he had never really had any friends.

"Sorry about that," Hyro apologized, pointing to the spoons. "I didn't mean to frighten you. Anyway, I was wondering if you would like to be roommates? I mean, if you don't mind..."

Diego moves through the crowd of people, searching for one student through the masses.

Where the hell is that chick?

Then he spots the red and cream fur that is the student he is hunting for. He moves swiftly, pushing a few newbies in his wake. He reaches out and grabs Ingrid's arm, pulling her back agianst him.

"Hey Toots. You never answered my question"

He drapes his other arm over her shoulder, his face spilt with a grin.

In his mind, Mayeius raised an eyebrow. Why would anybody want to share a room with him? That boring, unpopular nerd that spent his free time studying and mentally bending spoons? Nevertheless, he slowly nodded and spoke for the first time since he had arrived that morning. "Okay..."

Hyro smiled. "Great!" he said, smiling. He looked at the vacant rooms, before finding one he liked. "What about this one?" he asked the Alakazam morph, pointing to it.

Dragon nodded to herself, and looked at Dawn.
"So, you can fly, right?" She smiled. "Want to go see the school grounds?"

"Sure. I'm new here anyway," Dawn replied, nodding. Her short hair was swished around a bit as she stretched her wings, spreading her primary feathers like fingers. Mostly, she was colored just like a Swellow on her clothes, so it would be easy for one to mistake her for a real Pokemon. "Ready when you are!" she sang.

((Uh, let's have a convienient big window in our room! =D))
"Okay!" Dragon went to the window and opened it, spreading her wings. She jumped out and fell a bit before rising up to over the school's roof. She looked down, waiting for Dawn.

Looking around at the others, most with partners, Frederick sighed. He looked down at his chest feathers; if someone would befriend a Swellow, why not Pidgeot? He waddled morosely on.

Dawn nodded, spreading her wings. "I need to take off from a higher place than the ground in front of me, so this would be good." She jumped onto the windowsill and spread her wings, jumping. She let the wind catch her wings, then flapped once, gliding. "Maybe we should go higher, so we get a view of the whole place..." With that, she began to ascend, and soon, the whole school was below her. "This is fun!" she cried, kicking in midair.

Mayeius looked into the room. It wasn't exactly big, but there was a lot of empty space - perfect for undisturbed meditation. He nodded and mumbled something quietly, wandering in and placing his small bag at the end of one of the beds.

Dragon laughed, and dived below Dawn.
"Come on, let's go look around!" She wheeled to the left and started to rise again. Dragon pointed herself at a window, and dived again, seeing some hybrids checking out a room.

(Cryptica, wanna partner up?)

Lucius glanced around, cursing his bad luck. As the new kid, he knew absolutely nobody here, which made it all the more awkward. He attempted to find a partner within the crowd that seemed keen on pairing up, people marching from opposite directions to clasp eachothers hands and head for a vacant room.
