Closed The Ruins of Alph

Nina stood up shakily, looking nervous. She'd done something wrong. The other Pokemon was angry.. at her? She was aware of several other Pokemon nearby, that hadn't been there before. A lot. That wasn't good, especially if any of them decided to attack. She'd fall flat on her face before she could get away if she ran, and there was no way she could fight all of them at once, not even if she was still Trainer's Pokemon, even if she hadn't been so hungry all the time. Weak. Finding food would have been difficult normally, being so unused to being without the Trainer, which was made even worse by blindness. She couldn't make any more mistakes, couldn't make anyone angry again, like Trainer. She "looked" up towards where she guessed the Persian was and said meekly,
"I'm sorry.. I wasn't spying or anything..", she trailed off, then added in an unhappy mumble,
"Not like I could even if I wanted to, anyway."

((OMG, harem RP!))

Yua hid underneath a completely gutted car, which was held up by a few cinderblocks and other hunks of metal. It wasn't that she disliked the sun, but rather that she knew there were others were nearby, and Yua didn't particularly want to get involved with others.

However, there was a distant shout. At least, it sounded distant. Yua made out the words, a command to come out of hiding. She wasn't sure of what to do, then. Yua was afraid the source of the voice might cut her down, or she might be open for someone else to do the same.

Timidly, she crawled up through the empty engine compartment, the hood having gone missing ages ago, and stuck her head out, just up to her eyes, to look around. There were two figures perched on top of a pile of scrap metal, but Yua could sniff out a few others, as well.

Whomever is up there has a strong sense..., she thought, There's no way I can run away...

((reinreinreinrein

:D?))

Rein, after some depressing minutes on the car seat, stood up, yawned and stretched. Her stomach rumbled, making her aware of how hungry she really was. She sighed then looked up at the sky. It was a nice day, despite all the garbage around here. The Espeon's mouth twitched into something resembling a smile, a sad, depressed smile, her eyes hollow, not expressing any emotion. They were just.... dull. Just... eyes.

'Another day of life.

Is it going to continue like this until I die?' Rein shook her head. 'No way.'

"I'm pregnant, life will change when the kitten arrives." She kept whispering to herself, trying silently to convince herself of that.

But in reality she wasn't really sure if the kitten would make it. And even if it did, how could Rein possibly nurture it? She could barely get enough food for herself...

The Espeon's tails swished in the air as she jumped out and onto the roof of the car, her black and purple eyes now gleaming. The sun gave her energy. She was truly alive at day.

Rein jumped off, the gem reflecting the rays of light, and began searching for anything edible.

Freezefire looked up from her search for edible scraps among the rubble, and froze. Something had moved around her, somewhere.. She hissed and dove behind a cinderblock. Maybe she would have food today. There were a few other Pokemon around, she had passed one once or twice. All the same as her, half-dead looking. Freezefire poked at the cinderblock, waiting.

(( I support all baby death. Although since a newborn's hardly going to have much of a personality or history, I suppose it's acceptable to have it as an NPC. It can only cause your character grief, anyway >D ))

"You're pathetic."

"Shut up," Alec said, picking up a wooden stick he identified as a chopstick and sticking it in his mouth.

Coldfoot scoffed, twirling a large nail and stabbing it into his side. After they left the city, he'd been using larger and larger stabbing implements on himself, but somehow the hole closed over every time. "You left that dump after you were finally sick of it all, and you end up at... another dump. Good going, genius."

Alec didn't look at him, instead rifling through the small pile and finally picking out a plastic container. He opened it, picking up the small roll inside. "At least there aren't any grimer being born at my feet. And I don't have to Aromatherapy myself every few minutes."

"You didn't have to share then, either."

"Do I look like I'm sharing now?" Alec held onto his chopstick and threw the roll into his mouth, then almost-inhaled the chopstick after it.

"You're just about to Odor Sleuth out the others."

Alec gave a dramatic sigh, looking up at his friend. "If you insist, Mommy, I'll do it, but I'd much rather--"

"You hear them. I know this because I hear them, and you've always had better hearing than me. And it's been steadily getting louder. Because you've been coming closer." Coldfoot's eyes met Alec's, coolly. "Why is that, Alec?"

"I guess your company just isn't good enough," Alec said, shrugging. "Don't worry, I'm not going soft. I just can't Sketch anything without other pokemon around. Once the grimer and koffing didn't have anything more to offer, I had no reason to stay."

"Excuses," Coldfoot said, but Alec ignored him and climbed onto an old wooden desk. Yeah, as he'd thought. The persian he'd seen every so often was there, although there were a lot more pokemon than he'd expected. Alec smirked. He spread his wings (wings that nobody but him could see) and flew toward them.

"Hello, fellow rejects," he announced, landing.

Fero's gaze wavered from the Persian as he noticed other pokemon arriving, one which- a Smeargle- called the group, "Fellow rejects."

How dare he degrade me like that. That little cretin will know what it feels like to be prey!

"No, he won't," Fero said, "And you're going to shut up now so we can gain their confidence."

At the harsh sound of the Persian's voice, Blaise flinched but quickly straightened, noticing the large number of strange Pokémon suddenly appearing. Whimpering very quietly, the shiny Growlith slunk back, his eyes flitting from a Smeargle to that Jolteon, finally resting on the huge Drapion. When Blaise looked at the Poison-type, his hackles raised just slightly.

Surpressing a growl, Blaise continued backing up until there was nothing behind him but a pile of old human appliances. With his backside guarded, the Growlithe calmed slightly.

Henrietta's nose twitched. The stench that surrounded her was repulsive. "Ew..." she muttered as she picked her front paw up to reveal a rotting banana peel with half of the banana still inside. Some of it had smeared on her paw. A banana?! Why would anyone dump peeled fruit in this place!? She stomped at the ground furiously to fling some of it off and turned to where she heard a raised voice.

"I can tell you're a feisty one...!" she snorted at Fero, just loud enough to hear. "Let me tell you, I doubt anyone in this dump has any confidence to gain. That Smeargle is right - anyone here would be a reject. You're in denial, my friend." Henrietta said, trying to sound taunting. She wasn't really including herself. She just wanted to see how that Drapion would react to being talked down to.

Hearing those words, anything convincing that Fero's calm side would have said was ignored by his predatorial instincts.

"I'm warning you, Mightyena, keep talking and you will become prey," He snarled, claws starting to glow, "And becoming prey in my eyes is a death sentence. I have the blood of countless pokemon on my claws. One more will not change anything."

"Aww, does the thought of insignificance upset you?" she cooed. "I'm afraid I have no time to play. Even if it did get a little rough, shall we say, I think my new friends would side with the poor Pokemon being attacked, hm? And as you can see, we have quite a few bystanders." Henrietta paused for a moment to let everything sink in. "But since I wouldn't want to be unfair, I'll take my leave now." She leaped on top of a nearby pile of junk and off in the other direction, deciding to search for the others.

Now, now, clam down. Lose your rag in this one and you won't get what you want, which is prey, in this case.

"I'd strongly advise that pokemon to keep looking over her shoulder," Fero muttered, "because sooner or later she'll see me, and then she will have become prey for the first and last time."

Come to think of it, has anyone become your prey a second time?

"No, nobody has."

Naso fixed her gaze on the group that was slowly gathering more members.

I can sense it...

I must go with them...

Destiny...

She flinched as she accidentally thought the name of her first daughter. The only one of her chicks to die, as far as she knew. She had been eaten, Naso remembered, by a rather vicious Persian who had also been in the Day Care... She couldn't stand thinking about Persian anymore.

She flew down to the group, landing somewhere in the middle of it. She bowed, remaining courteous even though she had interrupted so suddenly.

"Naso," she said simply, before turning around to look at the otherside of the group.

Wait...

That's a Persian...

Right there!

Some kind of grief built up inside of her, and with it came powerful fury. The desire to tear something up, the desire to kill. Her concious mind could barely keep control over her actions.

You are not a murderer...

That isn't even the one...

Look, he has a metal leg...

This mental conflict with herself caused her to do nothing but stare up at the Persian blankly.

Alec's eyes focused on the banana peel that the mighyena had been disgusted about, and he suddenly darted toward it, paw glowing black as he snatched it from the ground. He could hear Coldfoot laughing behind him, but ignored him and looked at it. The banana was starting to rot, of course, but most of the food here was hardly fresh.

"Arceus, don't waste good food," Alec said, taking a bite of the banana. Fortunately, Alec's sense of taste was long dead, and he was very used to strange-feeling mush.

Coldfoot snorted.

"That means killing her, too," he added, looking pointedly at the drapion while jabbing a paw at the mightyena. "The nonexistent nutritional properties of a mightyena aside, you'll be spending more energy fighting than you'd gain from eating everyone here. Are you new to this?" He shook his head, smirking. "Look, most of your energy comes from food unless you're a grass-type. Chilling and sleeping feel like they give you energy, but they're really not pulling it from nowhere. You've got reserves, the ones that power up your attacks, but they can run out. Only way to refill those? Eating. Even harder if you eat meat. If you don't, you just die in the most pathetic way - starvation. And you won't be able to do a thing about it if you can't bring yourself to move, let alone hunt. Do yourself a favour. Conserve your energy."

Yua then heard something. She sniffed out a seemingly nearby Pokemon. There was a hiss, from somewhere behind her. Then, a quiet tap, not a metallic one, though. Yua was afraid to investigate, but it could have very well been a hostile presence.

Swallowing, Yua gathered her courage and turned around. She looked around, and then suspected the cinder blocks the car was partly propped on.

"H-Hello...?", she quietly asked, "Is... there... a-anyone... there?"

Upon hearing Edward yell to others to appear, the dog sits himself up, folding his legs under him. He glances at the others with a cold eye and studies their auras carefully, imprinting them in his mind for future use. He then looks at the Smergle that flew over to the group. He was still curious how he could do that without aura or wings, but left it as that. He smiles down at the group that gathered below him.

"Hello there children. I'm known as Halan. This is likely the last time I'll ever speak to any of you. Enjoy my silence until I get bored with you and decide to start a conversation."

Halan then returns to watching the sky, pretending to not pay attention to the group. As he scans the sky, his aura sense was scanning the group in case other were to come. Though he didn't care what was to happen, he was sure to watch out for threats to give Edward a heads up.

Hey. What were friends for?

"'I've already stopped hiding, even if it was unintentional" The Tangrowth said, getting up from the car, which didn't fare to well from to the impact. He turned to the Persian as he ripped out of the piece of glass in his arm. "But now, let's not go aggressive, no one have have any hostile feelings against each other" He then turned to look at the Mightyena and the Drapion, "Except those, that is"
He turned to the sun and looked up at it, closing his eyes. "It's a mighty fine day now, isn't it?" For a being made of vines like him, being out in a sunny day made him feel refreshed.
"If you happen to wonder, my name is Gaius" Gaius said, "I do believe the name means something, but I don't know what in that case"

Then Gaius heard something, and began walking that direction, before finally reaching a area where a car blocked the path. He simply looked around, and saw an Espeon, it definitely didn't look healthy, unlike him, As he fed on sunlight.
"Oi, you!" he yelled, trying not to sound hostile, "Are you alright?"

"What a sorry bunch we are, huh." Edward mumbled to himself, observing the small gathering before him. He didn't really take much notice of individual as that was Halan's job, but he saw the whole. They were a rag-tag group, that was for sure, but they were a group. They were something he could... use.

"Welcome to my home. This is a place we can all live together, as a group. Who wants to stay? We'll work together to make our place."

He saw the Tangrowth - Gaius, he had said? - speak to an Espeon. She was a pretty thing, he noted, surveying her silently. She did have a noticeable bump... A sign of pregnancy. He'd seen it in his own mother during her pregnancy with his little brothers. She would need more help with the others.

"You there, miss Espeon..." He called softly. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. In your condition, you'll need all the help you can get..."

"Your home!" Coldfoot scoffed before Alec could get to it. "Are you inviting us, because if you think you own the place you've got another thing coming."

Then Edward turned to the espeon, acting all nice and caring, the way Alec knew Edward was not. Even though she was just a burden. Probably the psychic powers.

"Bet it's lust," Coldfoot said, and Alec laughed.

"He's not kidding," Alec said to the espeon, stuffing the banana peel into his mouth. "Hard enough to survive in these dumps, let alone raise a kid. Better purge the poisons regularly, or it's going to be damaged even if it makes it past the first breath. And the feeding after... dunno if espeon are milk-makers, but that's going to be contaminated too, and all the poisons in the rest of the food here is worse for a newborn. Your kid, if you don't get out of here fast, is screwed..." Alec shook his head. "Oh, but if you're gracing us with your presence, you can't have anywhere else to go. Maybe you should just chew on the tangrowth's spare vines."

"Alec?"

Alec shot Coldfoot an annoyed look. How did the bastard get behind him like that?

"Weren't you chewing on something earlier?"

Alec felt his throat. "Must've swallowed it," he muttered.
