Closed The Ruins of Alph

"I am more then ready for such a simple sacrifice" Gaius said, "It doesn't hurt me, I can make my body an entire nest if necessary" He then turned back, looking at another one, a Ninetales. he realized he was badly hurt, and rushed forward as fast as he could, before stopping at the pain struck canine and said "Hey, you're alright?" in a rather worrying tone.

((YOU AREN'T FORGOTTEN ZORA))

Scar jumped out of the brush to what seemed like a large Pokemon gathering. He looked around at all of the Pokemon, noticing an Espeon... but pregnant. Scar mentally sighed then his eyes rested on a Persian, who seemed to be the leader. "I-I'll take my l-leave if you w-wish." He mentally facepalmed, as he couldn't in real life, because he stuttered. The real reason was because he was kinda cold, but the others might have thought he was scared.

Freezefire whipped around. There were voices now.. behind her. What looked like an odd group of Pokemon had gathered around.. she could vaguely remember passing one or two, maybe a few times. Dropping onto all fours, she drew up behind another pile of garbage and looked carefully at the group. They didn't look too dangerous altogether, but still. Going against her better judgment, she stood up and walked up to them, pausing behind a Ninetales. Freezefire stood there silently, and waited to see what they would do, if anything.

There wasn't any answer. Yua sighed in relief, but got out from underneath the car anyways, figuring she would still be safer somewhere else. Yua crawled out into the sunlight, and looked around. She didn't immediately see anybody other than the figures on top of the car in front, but then saw a few others. She heard voices, too, probably them talking.

Yua walked forward, in their general direction, and saw someone lying on the ground. She slowly approached and saw that it was a Ninetales slumped over on the ground. Concerned, she was about to run over and check on it, but then noticed a Tangrowth already on the scene. Shyness, or maybe fear of the much larger Pokemon held her back, though, and Yua hid behind a pile of scrap metal not too far from those two. She looked up at the car the two figures were perched on, and this time, could make out that they were a Persian, with a strange, metallic-looking leg, and a Lucario, mostly normal in appearance from here.

Name: Kai

Species: Umbreon Absol

Age: Keeps the mystery in it, not revealing the age, eh?

Gender:

Appearance: Brown fur near head, dark grey fur on the rest of the body. Also, Kai has a scar over the right (his left) side of his face, from his cheek.

Bio: Kai wasn’t always so much oddly coloured from other Absol. Kai was originally like all other Absol, bar the scar on his face which he’d received from his mother at birth. He had been bred in captivity, under experiments to see what makes an Absol sense danger. Unfortunately, the experiment was never completed, as the project was shut down due to lack of sufficient funds. After a few days, some shady men used the lab to conduct their own experiments, which is how Kai ended up with the coat he has. He managed to escape the lab, and ended up in this place. He has been living there for a few years.

Personality: Kai seldom talks of his past, but he is generally friendly to pokemon. However, the years in solitude have caused Kai to become partially insane, and as such he is prone to switch into another persona at times, one that will kill whatever it needs to survive.

Other: Kai won't get in the way of the storyline, he'll show himself soon, should this be accepted.

The Gardevoir sighed. Man, I'm Bored. Hmm? He spotted the Car and members surrounding it. They seemed to be talking. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained I suppose.

He ventured out and tripped over. " Well, That wasn't the best way to make a graceful entrance," standing himself up, " The name's Macto. Macto the MALE Gardevoir."

Henrietta 'crouched', though it was more like lying on her stomach, being a quadruped, behind the pile of trash from earlier. So she had intended to look for others, but hey, it appeared they were all here anyways. I feel like I'm at some sort of meeting. Listen to all those chattering Pokemon! she thought as she peered from around the mound. Plenty of species as well. While she couldn't hear much of what they were saying, she tried to pick up on what might have been important to know. However, names meant nothing to her.

The Smeargle from before was saying something to the Drapion, and it was a mouthful. Henrietta could make out "Are you new to this?" and then she heard the words "energy", "sleeping", and "starvation". She was beginning to like that Smeargle. If she were to establish a pecking order around here, he would be invaluable. But that Persian, the one with the metal leg, kept acting like he was in charge. Especially when, she just saw, he suddenly changed his tone and offered assistance to that pregnant Epseon. Then it struck her.

Pregnant?! she thought as she kept her eyes trained on the Espeon. I may have to have a talk with that ignorant creature, if she thinks she can have a kitten around here.

Rein had walked for a while in her own thoughts when she suddenly heard a voice. Quite close by, too.

She looked up and saw a Tangrowth. It had asked if she was alright. 'Well obviously not, dumbass. Look at me! I'm pregnant, and I'm starving and thirsty and tired and sleepy!' She wanted to say, but she was too polite for that.

"..." She bowed her head and looked at the ground a little, then shook her head slightly. She didn't want to lie and say she was alright.

Then she heard another voice, and she looked up. She had somehow stumbled upon a group of Pokémon while in her own thoughts. There were about... 9? 10? 11? She didn't bother to count. Rein spotted a Persian among the group, and it was looking at her. She assumed it was he who had talked second after the Tangrowth. She also assumed it was male because of his voice, which had been soft, yet masculine.

"Thanks..." Rein muttered to the Persian. Just then she noticed he lacked his right-front leg. Or rather, it was replaced by a leg made of metal. She stared at it for a moment but snapped her head towards two other voices. They were talking to her. When did she get so popular? Well, it had probably been because she had somehow snuck up on them, although not intending to, and they hadn't noticed until now.

The Smeargle began talking then. Talking about her kitten. He was correct. But she was weak, and she had difficulties just finding enough food for herself. It was just then she wished Cerberus was there, to help her with the kitten. She gulped at the thought of her mate. Her former mate. She had to get over him, she could never return. Not after her owners kicked her out. But if he was here, the kitten would surely survive. They would just get out of this dump and find a forest, a small cave, anything, anywhere to live.

Rein had to look away from the two Smeargles. For some reason she didn't like them.

Then a Xatu landed among the Pokémon. 'Xatu are psychic Pokémon...' She thought to herself and reached out with her mind. Then a Gardevoir also emerged from... somewhere. It pointed out that he was a male Gardevoir. She also reached her mind out towards him.

'Hi... Can you hear me?' Only the two psychics could hear that sentence.

"N-no..." Rurenai moaned, "Shot... hurts..." his eyes shut tight. Now his paw had stopped flailing, but he could not move it. If one looked past his fur, they would see that the skin around the wound was red, oozing and irritated. A certain sign of infection. He wouldn't be able to get any farther right now if he tried.

He heard the Persian speak again. "Welcome to my home. This is a place we can all live together, as a group. Who wants to stay? We'll work together to make our place."

"I have no choice but to stay..." Rurenai strained out, "Nowhere else to go..."

"New to what?" Fero retaliated, "Starvation? Exile? Rejection? You are foolish to think such things. I have been starved from the Hunt, exiled by my masters, rejected by those who called themselves my masters. I do not lose energy from the Hunt- I gain it."

Oh no, not this again. Haven't you had your fun ranting?

"I gain energy from the thrill of the chase. The fear in the prey's eyes when I loom over them... none of you have any idea what it feels like to become a true predator."

"Right" Gaisu said, having turned quickly to the Espeon, "I'm sure you'll get to be a good mother. If you need something from the wandering forest I am, please say so"
he then turned to the bleeding Ninetales in front of him, still looking rather worried at his wound.
"This isn't good" he said, carefully lifting up the leg of the Ninetales, "If we don't do something, you might as well just bite of leg sooner or later. I know that much, but not how to cure it"

(( Nobody can see Coldfoot but Alec ... he doesn't exist any more. Anything in italics can't be heard by anyone else, unless maybe if they're specifically connecting to Alec's mind. ))

"Male gardevoir? You sure? 'cus you sure don't look it," Alec said, amused that the gardevoir had felt the need to emphasise it. Anyone that sensitive about it not only had problems, but had also been sadly overexposed to humans. "I recommend--"

Alec stopped when Coldfoot tapped his shoulder, and he heard a pained moan. He sighed, wandering toward the source. "Just what we need. Another pure liability. Congratulations, by the way, coming into a dump filled with contaminated garbage with an open wound was a pretty smart thing to do. You're a fire-type! You could've afforded to burn your wounds clean, even if you can't cauterise yourself. Well... there's that energy problem again, I suppose." He exchanged looks with Coldfoot and sighed dramatically. "Too late now. Even if you suddenly learned healing moves, they're actually only good for the shallow stuff if you'd believe it, and that's definitely not superficial... well, how old is it and how'd you get it?"

Alec took a moment to listen to the drapion's ranting, briefly remembering why he tended to stick to one conversation at a time, but humoured the drapion anyway. "Well, you're not acting like you know what you're doing. Are you letting your feelings guide your actions? You should know better. You feel the thrill and you feel like you're getting energy, but you're really not, unless you're only going after really weak pokemon and aren't expending enough to get a thrill worth something, so you know what, whatever."

"Guy's crazy," Coldfoot said, and Alec nodded, snickering.

"Most hunters like to play smart, but you can hardly do that and go thrill-seeking at the same time."

Yua listened as the Smeargle remarked on the Ninetales' position, then crawled over the pile of metal she was hiding behind.

She sat next to the Ninetales and peered at his wound, "I'm arfaid... he's right. This is a dreadful place to wander into if you're wounded like that.", she said with a grave tone.
Then Yua smiled, and quietly said, "But... I'll be sure to try my best to make it better, seeing as how we might all be stuck here. If only we had something to cover his wound, with, but anything here would make it worse..."

Having finished his rant, Fero relaxed long enough for his calm side to take over.

"You'll have to excuse me," Fero said, "I can get a little crazy when things get intense. I have another side to me. A side born to hunt and kill. The only reason I'm so calm now is that during a fierce hunt, my insane self went completely berserk, and gained a new personality. Namely, me"

Ignorant cretin, he thought, I'm going to take over and kill him.

"No, you're not. You won't be killing anything until you get my say-so."

Hi... Can you hear me?

...Yes.
returned Naso, breaking out of her trance.

Your mind... It feels strange. Almost as if though there are two entities in it...

((No, Exo-Raikou. To Rein, the pregnant Espeon.))

'... Yes, I suppose that'd make sense.'
Rein replied to the Xatu.

'... Do you know these Pokémon, or are they unknown to you, like they are to me?' She continued, not wanting the Xatu to ask her why she seemed to have two entities inside her. If she didn't bother to look at Rein or search for the kitten's mind, then Rein wouldn't bother to tell her either.

((Short post is short. Going to bed soon.))

((Ah, sorry. I just thought it might be Fero because his insanity gave him split personality, so there could technically be two beings.))

Nina backed away from all the other Pokemon, very confused. Now there was too much electricity too close together to make out much of anything. This was bad. She couldn't tell what was going on; yelling, talking, who knew what exactly. Vulnerable. Any of them could attack her right now, and she'd have no way of knowing. She backed away carefully, dragging her feet slightly so she wouldn't trip and fall again, then curled up on an old tire. Her stomach growled loudly. It hurt, as it had for the past.. two, three days? Was there anything edible here at all?!
Why did I come here..? The forest was better.. even if there wasn't much food.
