• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Because I need more battling opportunities:

2v2 Single
Set
DQ Time: 10 days
Damage Cap: 49%
Banned Moves: OHKOs, 5 Chills/Pokemon, 2 Direct Recovery/Pokemon
Arena: Status Field

Status Field is field stretching as far as the eye can see, where the weather is pleasant and the Taillow are singing. On one side of the field, the grass is tall, and if a Pokemon hides in it, all attacks directed against it have 10% less accuracy (unless, of course, it is on fire or otherwise illuminating enough to be noticeable).
However, Status Field was named so for a reason: every two rounds, the Pokemon's status will switch to something completely different! However, "status" is a generic term, and so a few points will be clarified:

-If a Pokemon is healthy, its status will not switch.
-That said, stat gains and reductions are counted as "status" and can be messed with. However, a Pokemon cannot go from say, +2 Attack to Paralysis, while it can go from +2 Attack to +4 Defense or to -6 Speed.

Aaand...profile.

Well, then, I'll accept this challenge!

1v1 single (durr)
Set
DQ: 4 days
Damage cap: 25%
Banned: OHKO moves, ground damaging moves (dig , earthquake, etc), attacking outside the arena!
Arena: Pockets arena
The arena is a lot of warm sand in my back yard. 30 ft x 60 ft is the alotted space to battle in. The rest is stuff that I dont want broken (and will fine you if you break it). My dad is cooking burgers and steaks on the grill , the radio is playing, and a few invited geusts are spectating from the patio.
PS Its my house, my parents are visiting.
Other: You can go ABOVE the arena but NOT UNDER IT!!!! the wather is initally sunny and will remain so until otherwise changed. The radio does NOT affect your pokemon even if it dosent have sound proof (hey it's my arena). No pokemon bigger than 5' nor 60 lbs.

If I may point out...
battle limits are 3 for regular ASBers and 4 for refs who are actively reffing a match.
The3FightingDragons, if memory doesn't fail me, you have two battles up on the board that are awaiting a ref, and one under way.

Wouldn't that mean you can no longer issue challenges?

Arena: A Very Large Chunk of 60% Cocoa Dark Chocolate

This is another one of Linoone's infamous food arenas. Although not as interesting as, say, a blueberry pie or a cup of tea, chocolate is still chocolate, and this very large chunk of 60% cocoa dark chocolate is the good stuff indeed. This chunk of chocolate is a rich, dark color, for it has been made from the finest cocoa beans grown in the region of Teakod, a place famous for it various foods and tea (mostly tea). A faint, sweet aroma hovers over the arena constantly. The battlefield is simple: a large, 30 by 20m (about 100 by 65 ft) rectangular chunk of chocolate. The chunk of chocolate seems to be infinitely tall, but falling off is impossible, for any Pokemon (or careless human) knocked off the arena will be magically transported back on. The chocolate is hard, but digging in it would be no problem at all, for it is easily malleable.

Chocolate is not chocolate if it does not melt, and the arena does just that -- it starts rock-hard, but will slowly soften over time until it becomes a slightly squishy (but still solid) block at the end of the fifth round. The chocolate then stops melting. However, extremely hot temperatures will cause the chocolate to melt considerably faster, and one can even create pools of molten chocolate (mmmm... delicious) with a flamethrower if one feels like it. The pool will gradually solidify into a soft solid though. The softened chocolate does not have much effects, unless you count squishiness as an effect.

The arena is, of course, edible. A Pokemon can spend an action to eat a piece of chocolate for a temporary caffeine-induced boost (Attack, Special Attack, and Speed +1 for 3 actions). However, the caffeine-induced crash aftereffect will cause the Pokemon to temporary loose -2 Speed, -1 Attack, and -1 Special Attack for 2 actions after the boost has faded. The boosts can be stacked (for example, a Pokemon can be ordered to eat 2 pieces of chocolate at once, which counts as two actions, and receive +2 boost in Attack, Special Attack, and Speed for 3 actions, but receive a 2 action crash of -4 Speed, -2 Attack, and -2 Special Attack).

Other: People and Pokemon allergic to chocolate are not recommended to battle here. The referee gets to keep the arena (which is an infinitely tall chunk of chocolate) after the battle is over.

Blazhy! blazheirio889! Let's see which of us is the better dragon!

1 vs 1 single
DQ Time: 5 days
Damage Cap: 99%.
Banned moves: OHKOs, Earthquake, anything that might even partially destroy the arena, direct healing, 5 chills/Pokemon
Arena: Evolution Stone Cave

Our battle today takes place in the most sparkly, shiny, impossible place ever; the Evolution Stone Cave. The cave is pretty big, with enough space to comfortably fit a Wailord, and with a ring of deep water surrounding the arena. No Wailords are allowed, however. The thing that gets everyone about here though, is the millions and billions of bits of shiny evolution stones embedded in the ground, ceiling and walls. Though these bits are pretty small, if you took a piece out it wouldn't count as an evolution stone so don't try that. Also scattered around the cave are gems, all shining and glittering in some unknown source of light.

The pure power of the evolution stones is pretty concentrated here. Every round, the Pokemon have a 95% chance of changing types; from whatever type they are to either Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Rock, Dark, Ice, Psychic or Ghost. All abilities of the Pokemon remain the same, ghosts can still phase or turn invisible, Flying types can still fly. All effects dispell after the end of the round.

you're so going to win but i don't care

Also, I apologize if I'm rushing or something, but...
Speaking of battle limits, I'll reach mine.

1 vs. 1 Single
DQ: 1 week
Damage Cap: 40%
Banned Moves: OHKOs, direct healing
Arena: Adhesive Hole

A wasteland stretches beyond an eye's reach. The scenery is extremely plain. The catch about this arena is that it was once used for war. A trap was set at a specific spot; all soldiers that fell in it were firmly glued by an extremely sticky substance that covered the surface of the hole. Remains of the victims still can be seen over the pink goop. With the knowledge that any Pokémon stuck in this hole could be recalled by a Poké Ball, however, the idea to battle there seemed interesting. All ground-dwelling Pokémon to enter this match will be stuck in the adhesive trap until it's knocked out and recalled, thus, unable to leave their current positon. Pokémon capable of flight/floating, though, can avoid the goop, thus, are free to move.

Other: No purely aquatic Pokémon (land dwelling/anfibious water-types are still allowed). All Pokémon engaging in this battle must have access to at least one projectile move.

DQ: 604,800 seconds (1 week)

Banned moves: OHKOs
Arena: Abandoned Stone Factory

This arena is situated in the dilapidated warehouse of a factory employed at one time to make evolution stones. It was evacuated about 20 years ago- possibly after some sort of accident, nobody knows. All they do know is there's radiation from the stones they worked with everywhere and the place is in terrible shape. After a lot of inspection and research by guys with Geiger counters and space suits, the radiation was declared harmless to humans and Pokémon. People who insist on entering for whatever strange reason are now allowed to do so. However, the radiation, though harmless, has some... interesting effects on Pokémon. Due to its intensity it can randomly mutate Pokémon into an entirely different species. At the end of each round, both Pokémon will evolve at random into anything from Magikarp to Tyranitar- anything as long as it belongs to an evolutionary family. (Abilities, signature moves/attributes, status effects and stat increases/decreases remain after evolution, except where burned Pokémon evolve into Fire types or poisoned Pokémon evolve into Poison or Steel types.) There are also samples of the factory's erstwhile stock lying under the rubble, meaning that Pokémon have a 1% chance of discovering a random evolution stone each action (5% for Pokémon with Pickup). The dilapidated nature of the arena also means that vigorous attacks that upset the ground or structure will cause bricks to crumble away, and there is a 30% chance that the falling rocks will hit a battling Pokémon, dealing 5% Rock damage.

Other: No water, so fish Pokémon are not recommended; however there are many large chunks of brick gouged out of the floor that could be filled up.

Hello again ASB~

4 vs 4
Style: Set
DQ: 4 days
Damage Cap: 40%
Banned Moves: OHKO, direct healing moves, 2 chills per Pokemon, weather changing moves (Rain Dance, Hail, etc.)
Arena: Screwed Up Weather Island
Far off the coast of Cianwood, there is an island that's climate changes are sudden and often incredibly random. Due to such changes, the weather is constantly changing in the area, and not even that, but the time of day seems to be always changing as well. At one moment it might be a bright sunny day, and then within a few moments it might be an incredibly stormy night. The "nights" on the island are incredibly dark, and often only the outlines of figures on the island are visible.

Each round there is a 60% chance that day will turn into night, or vice versa. During the night, the accuracy of all moves is dropped by 10%

Each round, there is a 90% chance that the weather will change. When it does change, there is a 30% chance it will be Sunny Day / Hail (Sunny Day if the time for the round is day, Hail if it is at night), 30% chance it will be rain, 15% chance it will be foggy, 15% chance that it will be Cloudy, and a 10% chance that there will be a thunderstorm.

During foggy whether, all moves accuracy decrease by 5% (added onto the accuracy drop during night, if at night). During cloudy whether, the damage of normal-type moves iare multiplied by by 1.5, and the power of all other moves lose 1% of damage. During thunderstorm weather, the damage of water and electric type moves are multiplied by 1.5, and fire type damage is multiplied by .5.

Other: Weather related moves do not work in the island, as the weather is impossible to manipulate

HEY MANZ IT'S MAH PROFILE :D
